Rowan Lodge is an award-winning care home nestled within the beautiful North Hampshire countryside, combining 24-hour residential and nursing care with warm and friendly hospitality for up to 60 residents on a permanent and respite basis.

Surrounded by peaceful countryside, residents enjoy meadow views from their luxury bedrooms equipped with ensuite facilities, spacious communal areas for entertaining and dining, a dedicated activities room, café, cinema and hair salon. Contrasting tones and colourful digital wallpapers are incorporated into the interior décor for visual stimulus.

Outside, a quaint summer house, tranquil courtyard, and terraces with alfresco dining areas provide perfect outdoor spaces for residents and their loved ones to enjoy. Raised herb gardens with vibrant flowers offer sensory experiences for residents to independently explore.

A dedicated activities team prioritise resident wellbeing by organising a variety of meaningful and joyful group, individual and one-to-one activities and experiences. Activities are adapted to the daily wishes of residents, their cultural interests, and supported by life-story work in line with Rowan Lodge’s ethos of a person-centred approach to care. Some of the many activities they provide are; cultural days, themed tea parties and dining experiences, classic car events, floristry workshops, wildlife talks, Tai Chi, trips out to nearby attractions (and the seaside), live musical entertainers – Irish dancers, ukulele players, Motown singers, tribute acts and visiting animals – alpacas, birds of prey and even penguins to name a few!

I was impressed with how mum's admission was dealt with. Everything went smoothly and she was welcomed like an old friend. Mum is treated with respect and careful attention. Her room is lovely with a view over the patio, she has an en suite bathroom and everything is kept spotlessly clean.
The activities
are endless, there always seems to be something going on so residents can never be bored. The food and choice of menu is varied and would grace a hotel.
I would recommend Rowan Lodge to anyone who needs to place a relative in a secure, happy and caring environment.

We moved mum to Rowan Lodge in March of this year 2024.
Our first impression of the home when we went to visit was how friendly the staff were, cleanliness and how well-maintained it was inside and out and had no concerns about Mum going in there.
My mum has been in there for 5 months and the level
of care she has experienced has been exceptional. It is extremely well-staffed and nothing is too much trouble. On my many visits to see mum, I have only witnessed a high level of care and attention to all of the residents.
Thank you Rowan Lodge for looking/caring for Mum.

Rowan Lodge is a friendly home with a lovely atmosphere and always very welcoming to visitors. The caring staff treats everyone as an individual meeting their needs and chatting with them. From the first time I walked through the front door, I just knew this was the place where a loved one would be made to feel at home and genuinely cared for with compassion and dignity.
Everyone here deserves a shout-out for amazing service, from the enrichment team to the cook and kitchen staff through
to the nursing/caring staff and management.
Everyone you meet speaks and is friendly, making any stay here, be it long or for respite, a family feeling at home.

My mother went into Rowan Lodge Care Home in December 2021 and straight away felt at home and still does three years later. After a fall this year she is now in a wheelchair and is very deaf and finds it difficult to communicate, but its a credit to all caring, nursing and entertainment staff she is
still very happy. Many thanks to all Rowen Lodge staff.

We are very happy with the excellent care that my mother receives at Rowan Lodge. She has complex needs and the nursing team does a great job in managing this and supporting us, whilst the whole carer team interacts with her in a warm, friendly and attentive way. It is clear that she is very fond of
her carers and vice versa. Rowan Lodge puts on a great range of activities, which Mum enjoyed when she was first living there, although sadly she is now at a stage where she cannot participate.

The care that my mother has received since arriving at Rowan Lodge has been second to none. The staff are so caring and treat the residents with respect and dignity. My mother has communication issues but the staff have taken time to get to know her and can now accurately anticipate what she is asking
for. We are always made very welcome when we visit, the home is light, bright and modern and there is always something happening, from themed days, exercise sessions, quizzes and pamper time. Mum is very happy which makes us happy. I would highly recommend Rowan Lodge.

My mother has been well looked after since moving in 4 months ago. she has struggled with settling in but the activities, care and nursing team have been very helpful. Sometimes it has been very hard for me to accept how she is and the staff have gone out of their way to provide me with reassurance
that she is enjoying the activities (even though she has little memory from minute to minute). I am particularly pleased with the activities team as they are always so upbeat and happy to be there. The team really seem to enjoy their jobs. Moving a loved one into a home is very hard emotionally, but I feel that my mother is receiving the best care possible.

Rowan Lodge is a wonderful home for my dad. He went there for emergency respite after a fall a year ago, and he chose to stay permanently. The staff appear to genuinely care for him; they enjoy his company as much as he does theirs, and I know that he is safe and extremely well cared for. The home itself
is spotless in its cleanliness and decor, and the food is excellent.
There are always activities for residents to take part in if they wish, including occasional trips out. I am most happy that the staff recognise the residents as individuals and do their very best to help them continue doing the activities and hobbies they enjoy. Friends and family are always welcome.

We are extremely happy with the care and respect my father-in-law has at Rowan Lodge.

My family and I have been delighted with the care provided to my 98 year old mother since she moved into Rowan Lodge in November 2022. To be quite honest I wish that I’d moved her to Rowan Lodge sooner! The home is quite simply wonderful in all aspects with laughter and the sound of activity buzzing
every time I’ve visited. Everyone on the nursing, care, activities, catering, housekeeping and management teams provided the utmost care and attention to my mum throughout her stay and the end of life care was fantastic, not just towards my mum but also for my family and myself. I can’t recommend Rowan Lodge highly enough, for anyone looking for a care/nursing home for their relative.

Rowan Lodge is a lovely home. My father is really happy there. The staff are friendly and extremely caring. Care is tailored to each individual resident. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is plentiful, varied and of excellent quality. There are always lots of activities for the residents to join
in. At Christmas, there were several parties and a pre-Christmas lunch for families to go to. Everything is included in the fees. I couldn't wish for him to be anywhere better.

The staff were all superb. Nothing was too much trouble for them, always willing and happy to help. The cleanliness of the whole home was absolutely spotless, and the lounges were so comfortable with a beautiful outlook. You also have an amazing manageress, she is a star.

On the 15th August 2022, I had to find emergency care for my friend who has Parkinson's. The reason was his partner of sixty-three years was rushed to hospital. They have no children and as I was power of attorney along with another friend, we decided full-time care in a home was the answer. I made
a call to Rowan Lodge Care Home and spoke to a member of staff (who completely understood our predicament), my friend was in Rowan Lodge the following day and stayed for a month whilst his partner recuperated from her stay in hospital! Amazing care.

My dad has been at Rowan Lodge since August 2019 where he receives outstanding care. The team are fantastic, seeking to support my dad in every way possible and to make him as comfortable as possible. Their care is very genuine and they treat my dad as a family member. As his condition has worsened
(he has Parkinson's and dementia) they have looked to best support his changing needs and the activities team are very creative and engaging. The team are also very helpful to me in understanding what is happening for dad and helping us to be able to have contact and visit during the difficult pandemic years. I could not recommend it more highly.

I am writing this on behalf of my husband, who was welcomed into Rowan Lodge. He was so happy and relieved to arrive there after twelve awful days in a Covid-19 ward in the hospital. It was definitely a relief for him to have very comfortable surroundings once again and caring staff. My only issue I
think, would be that he was never offered a shower until I asked, the day before he left, for one to be given him. I was also hoping to be able to practice his walking up the stairs before we left Rowan Lodge, this was not possible.

My mother has now been a resident at Rowan Lodge for nearly a year. She settled in very quickly and seems to be in a very good state of health all round. My brother and I are delighted were her care.


All the staff at all levels are lovely and cheery and have great rapport with both her and us. It

is also reassuring to see the same faces week in and out and not as one might expect in the sector a high turnover of agency staff.


We chose Rowan Lodge for the location and the quality of accommodation. Rowan Lodge provides nice airy rooms within a lovely quiet rural location, which is what my mother had been used to coming from Dorset and we have not been disappointed.

Rowan Lodge is the perfect place for my mother. She is so well looked after and all the people who work there care so much about her and all the residents. They know everyone personally and treat them as if they were their own loved family members. The effort they put into organising activities to make
life interesting and fun for everyone is extraordinary. Mum loves the indoor bowls, the Tai Chi and the poetry reading and flower arranging as well as the visiting opera singers and entertainment. I can relax knowing that she is safe and well looked after. They are so thoughtful and care about me and my brother too, ensuring that we can see, visit and talk to Mum despite the challenges of occasional Covid quarantining. I have such praise and admiration for the employees and I highly recommend Rowan Lodge for elderly loved ones.

Dan

Dan Binney

Job Title: Service Manager

Joined: 2016

Dan has 25 years’ experience in the NHS working in Mental Health Services. He has worked extensively in care records and client-based electronic systems. Dan worked as part of the National Program team installing the first client based electronic care record into Barnsley and Community Priority Services NHS Trust and later took the role as Systems Manager. In 2011, he became the Administration Manager for a Memory Service in South Yorkshire, together with the Service Manager; they took the service forward winning the award of excellence in the Memory Services National Accreditation Program with the Royal College of Psychiatry which is endorsed by the CQC.
In 2015, Dan emigrated to Gran Canaria where he worked for a law firm who specialised in helping English ex-pats who had bought property in the Canaries who required legal assistance. He then returned to the UK in 2016 when he began work with Forest Care.


Wendy

Wendy Tidbury

Job Title: Home Administrator

Joined: 2017

Wendy is our outgoing and empathetic Home Administrator. She is a passionate member of the team, striving to add a personal touch to the care given to residents and support to relatives.


As Administrator, Wendy is responsible for the day-to-day administrative functioning of the home and supporting Dan.
