Peaker Park Care Village opened the 2nd June 2011. A newly-built and commissioned care village - 137 beds in all, configured in three separate care facilities. The care village is multi-registered to accept clients with many and varied care needs from the age of eighteen years and upwards, to include clients requireing care because of old age, frailty, and/or dementia, a physical or mental disability and/or a sensory impairment. The care village is registered to deliver care to residential/nursing and Continuing Health Care Clients, and also boasts accommodation for clients who wish to retain independence in their own apartment style of accommodation.

My mum was moved to the home at the end of her life. She was only there for a few days but we were really impressed at the friendliness and efficiency of the staff and the way the interact with the residents in the specialist dementia unit. I especially liked the layout and decor and stimulation of
the shared spaces. Also, the understanding and helpful way they looked after us admin-wise after her passing.

Mum moved into Peaker Park in February 2018 and remained there until her death in January this year. During that time, she lived in several of the units and in each, she received nothing but kindness and care. In the early days of her stay, she enjoyed trips out, whether to the park, the garden centre
or further afield. Later she would sometimes join in activities within her unit, enjoying cooking or a manicure, but if she chose not to be sociable, her choice was always respected. Throughout lockdown, we could always call, even when visits were impossible, and the staff kept us updated on her health and wellbeing. In her final months, as Mum became more frail and confused, all the staff worked tirelessly to keep her comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble, and she was treated with dignity and tenderness to the very end. Their care even extended to us, her family, and it gave us great comfort. I can recommend Peaker Park without reservation.

The staff are absolutely amazing. The care, love and kindness that they showed to my aunt was second to none. I knew she was safe and well cared for - something we all want for our relatives, especially in their final days. I cannot thank the team enough. My aunt was on Albany.

My dad stayed at Peaker Park from May 2022 until December 2022. We weren't sure what to expect, he had severe dementia and we had zero experience of care homes. What we found was that the care he got was outstanding, great facilities but most importantly brilliant staff, all of who genuinely cared for
dad and all of us throughout his time there. We stayed in his room during his last days and hours so saw more of the workings of the care home, for example, we ate the same food as the residents and we were also cared for whilst they cared for my dad during his final days. As I say, great facilities but best of all packed full of incredible, caring staff in my experience.

My grandad went to Peaker Park on a temporary basis for an assessment period after a stressful stay in hospital. The care staff here were amazing and made sure that he settled into the home and enjoyed his stay there. He was able to make friends with other residents and have a laugh with carers. The
care home is lovely and clean and tidy and has a great garden where residents can spend some time out in the fresh air. There was a lovely homely feel to the place. If it wasn't for the distance from our home, we'd have loved for him to stay here.

The care my husband received was as good as I could have given him. Friendly understanding of his needs. Lovingly helping him through awful dementia. Always clean, he was respected and well cared for. My husband passed away in peace with the dignity he so deserved. Thank you all at Peaker Park.

My friend came to Peaker Park in 2019. Initially, she was mobile and would leave her room but liked to be on her own. She always knew me and wanted to go home. This was not possible due to her illness. The staff were always caring and patient with her. Her mobility deteriorated and she became more confused
and incontinet. When I visited, she was always clean with a drink to hand. I trusted the staff to give her the best care, which I am sure they did. She gradually deteriorated, and I came to realise how fond of her the staff were. She was allowed to pass away peacefully with dignity. The staff were exemplary and supported me at her death by preparing me so I could be with her.

Peaker Park Care Village - Melody Court. When I first heard my father was going into the care home I was worried due to the large bed capacity. However, shows you should never judge a book by its cover. On first entering the village I was amazed at what I saw, beautiful buildings and gardens, it
looked very clean. Old Red Post boxes and telephone boxes a reminder of the past. On walking into Melody Court we were greeted, given an overview of visiting times, logging in and out of the buildings in case of fires etc. We were introduced to the senior carer looking after my father, who told us about their plans, his medication as we were concerned about his previous doziness in the hospital. On seeing my father's surroundings made me feel at ease, from the caring staff, where nothing was too much. To the point we were advised my dad was now being treated as end of life. Right up to the end of his life these carers made sure he was looked after and made sure we were comfortable. Amazing staff.

We were so relieved when we found Peaker Park after our father’s previous care home could no longer meet his needs as his PSP deteriorated. The complicated presentation was extremely challenging, yet the unflappable unit leader and a confidence-inspiring nurse reassured us from the first Zoom interview.
Nothing we told them put them off or even caused a raised eyebrow. Where other care homes refused to accept him without constant one-to-one supervision (which we felt was unacceptable for his quality of life), the Peaker Park team calmly took care of him and kept him as safe and as happy as possible.


The reduction in fall incidents was remarkable and crucially the set-up prevented our father from accessing steps or stairs. The staff were caring and sensitive yet somehow maintained a sense of humour. We felt looked after as well as our dad. There were too many individuals to single out for praise and too many incidents where staff went above and beyond to fit into this.

My mother spent the last two years of her life at Peaker Park Care Village - this included lockdown when staff made sure she could stay in touch with an iPad. All of the staff were kind and caring, her personal care was good and she always had fresh, clean bed linen. The medical team were also very

A huge thank you to the staff at Peaker Park Care Village who looked after Mum for 3 months. Lovely room with kind and caring staff who understand how important each resident is. The staff worked diligently to make sure we could see Mum safely through Covid restrictions and if not then were always happy
to take a phone to Mum so we could chat to her. The food was excellent and Mum's favourite was curry night. Peaker Park Care Village has a lovely feel to it and all the staff are super friendly and caring.


Thank you everyone for making Mum's time at Peaker very special.

Dad spent the last nine months of his life at Fiddlers Corner, sadly he was very frail and bedridden so wasn’t able to take part in any activities. During his stay, he was treated with the utmost care and dignity. He always looked so well cared for which was reassuring for us as it was difficult for
us as a family to accept that he needed to go into care. All the staff were wonderful to him and us. We were kept well informed at all times. His nursing care was excellent we could not have asked for better.


Thank you all for making his last months comfortable. He is now at peace.

My mother went into Peaker Park Care Village for respite after becoming unwell, the aim was for us to find her different accommodation so she could live independently. From the day she moved in her well-being was a priority for the team at Peaker - Mulroy. She was not always the easiest resident as
she was fiercely independent. Staff were patient with her and treated her with dignity and care.


Thank you to the team on Mulroy who made her feel safe and were understanding to her fears (and ours as a family), especially the staff who pushed her to maintain her mobility and dignity. Unfortunately, she was more unwell than we realised and she died in hospital - our wish was to get her back to Peaker Park Care Village - we couldn’t visit her in hospital and at the last minute when they let us in she was too ill to transfer back and some family were not able to get to see her. Luckily we had all seen her at Peaker Park before she went to the hospital.

For the 12 weeks my uncle was in this home, as a family, we felt that the staff provided a high standard of care. Even though my uncle was very deaf, they tried hard to communicate with him. He was very comfortable in the last weeks of his life. The home were very flexible around seeing my uncle but

When sourcing a care home for a very special loved one, you ultimately rely on reviews. After no support from social services and very little information, we were left with relying on the NHS for recommendations. My Mother-in-Law was evicted from a Dementia specialist unit as they could not cope with
her needs. This was a total shock to us as we thought the care home we chose was able to accommodate her, how wrong we were! After several phone calls asking us to come in as they couldn’t cope, we knew something was wrong. We came across Peaker Park and I can honestly say it was the best thing that ever happened. They are the most brilliant team and have a total understanding of a loved one’s needs. They take the time to get to know the real person and listen to the family. All the staff are amazing and have the resident’s needs at heart. The home is spotlessly clean, I cannot fault them. Even though we have now lost our beloved Mum, we know that her care was second to none!

Peaker Park looked after my husband brilliantly. He had underlying health problems and suffered from dementia. The care he received on the Bowden Unite was absolutely excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and I could always call anytime. Due to covid restrictions, we were unable to visit his room
and were limited to visitor's room only.
