Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home is a purpose built, 56-bedroom home, committed to the highest standards of care and service, within a friendly and happy family run home. The home is rated Outstanding in caring and Good Overall by CQC (April 2022).

The aim is to provide the highest level of care in a dignified and compassionate way, with the best facilities and equipment in a comfortable home with trained experienced staff. There is a full and diverse activities programme for the residents put on throughout the home, providing many opportunities to socialise, participate and pursue their own interests. Outside there are beautiful, landscaped gardens and courtyards planted with year-round colour which are accessed by level, flat paths.

Qualified nurses and trained carers try and improve the quality of life for those who have chosen to live at the home. The approach is not one routine fits all, but rather a more personal care plan that makes allowances for the individuals' needs and concerns. The residents are at the centre of the home helping to create the Chef's menu's and choosing the activities programme. Everyone at Hill House wants the residents to be well cared for, happy and enjoy living at Hill House.

An excellent purpose built home, extremely well planned and equipped. I particularly liked that the reception and management offices are effectively integrated with the residents' lounge and not hidden away. The residents' rooms are of a generous size and receive plenty of natural light. The food is
home cooked and excellent quality. Activities for the residents are comprehensive, well planned and enthusiastically delivered.
However, the real strength of Hill House is its staffing team. Management, nursing, care and administrative staff work very well together both as a coordinated team and individually with the residents. They are totally committed to caring for their residents. My father quickly settled in, and soon felt very much at home and really well looked after throughout his stay. Both he and we as his family felt reassured by all that we saw, as well as by the regular consultation and updates provided. I too felt really well supported by the team.

I left the NHS where I was Ward Manager of an elderly care unit at the Royal Free Hospital when I assumed control of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd following my mother's retirement in 1998.


I am immensely proud of the standards of care we achieve and the family ethos and feel which runs through the heart of our homes.
