Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home is a purpose built, 56-bedroom home, committed to the highest standards of care and service, within a friendly and happy family run home. The home is rated Outstanding in caring and Good Overall by CQC (April 2022).

The aim is to provide the highest level of care in a dignified and compassionate way, with the best facilities and equipment in a comfortable home with trained experienced staff. There is a full and diverse activities programme for the residents put on throughout the home, providing many opportunities to socialise, participate and pursue their own interests. Outside there are beautiful, landscaped gardens and courtyards planted with year-round colour which are accessed by level, flat paths.

Qualified nurses and trained carers try and improve the quality of life for those who have chosen to live at the home. The approach is not one routine fits all, but rather a more personal care plan that makes allowances for the individuals' needs and concerns. The residents are at the centre of the home helping to create the Chef's menu's and choosing the activities programme. Everyone at Hill House wants the residents to be well cared for, happy and enjoy living at Hill House.

I am pleased that my mother spent her last days at Hill House Nursing Home as the care she required was provided in a very professional manner in attractive surroundings. She was treated with dignity and respect at all times by staff who were a joy to meet.

We're so grateful to everyone at Hill House who helped make our father during his last months and days. The lovely staff there create a genuinely caring, warm and positive atmosphere with a nice homely, family feel and great continuity of care. At other homes, the staff turnover meant different faces
for different months, but at Hill House, people working there seem genuinely happy and stay, which makes such a difference. They also treat guests with great respect, generate an upbeat, positive ambience, and help preserve a sense of dignity for all there. It's hard to think of a better place our Dad could have been in at such a sad time, and we can't thank them enough!

The staff and management of Hill House combine a warm and supportive environment with excellent, professional standards. Staff are well trained and confident.
They seem to enjoy their work and are discreetly vigilant.

I've visited my grandma and everyone has been very nice to me. I was really upset but the staff understood and looked after me. My grandma was happy and well looked after. Shes really enjoyed going out and doing activities. I think that has made such a difference, thank you.

We are grateful that Hill House had a vacancy at the time Dad needed it. After 2 weeks he said he felt safe and well looked after, a big comfort for any family to hear this. The staff are wonderful and the activities varied with encouragement to participate but not mandatory. Families are warmly greeted
by staff too.

Once inside the building, I was impressed with the high standard of the uplifting atmosphere of the home. Friendliness and help from all staff and management was of a high order. Any doubts about the kind of standard one tends to be aware of in the first instance was totally different and very impressive,
close interplay between staff and patients was evident and added to the confidence of any visitor or service user. Well done from me and my late wife.

All the staff at Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home are very caring and go that extra step to make sure Dad is happy and safe. The whole environment of the home is friendly and the professionalism, particularly in relation to Dad's needs for his dementia, is outstanding. It is easy to talk to staff
about Dad and his needs and they are very responsive to requests and ideas to make Dad even more comfortable. This means visits to Dad are a pleasure and focused on time with him rather than worrying about his daily care.

My wife has enjoyed the care and happiness of Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home for more than two years and I have been able to witness at first hand the excellence of that care.
Management which is very much 'hands on' has fostered a very good team spirit amongst all of the staff. This applies
to everyone involved, not just nursing and care but also those involved in all of the work here eg admin, maintenance, cleaning etc resulting in a very helpful and friendly environment for the residents. Finally and most importantly there is a very wide range of activities to provide stimulation for all living here.

We have had experience of nursing homes in the past and Hill House is the best we found to meet my mother's needs.
It was recommended by a neighbour whose mother had been a resident. I was always pleased to see that carers and nursing staff were always visible in the lounge and always available. The
manager was very approachable and helpful.
Mum received the best care available right up until the end.

Hill House is full of life and laughter, with happy staff. My father in law is very happy to be there and feels the nurses and carers are very helpful. He loves the different activities and playing dominoes with the other residents.

Dad needed some urgent respite care after a fall at home and a hospital stay. All the staff at Hill house were excellent. They organised extra physio one to one visits and made some dad did the exercises every day.
After 8 weeks at Hill House, dad is now back at home and back walking again.

CQC Outstanding speaks for itself. No other nursing home came close and my sister viewed many. Mother loved the home from the moment she arrived. Mother received love and excellent care from all areas. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Mother was in the home for 20 months, every day a happy one. She
died recently in a very loving, caring, dignified home!

My mum is a resident of Hill House Home the people who work there are always really kind and helpful. The activities they do are great fun and we often get involved. The manager is always available, she never seems to have a day off. The home is so lovely and the owners have thought very carefully about
what people like mum like. O can't recommend this home highly enough.

My grandmother entered the home in a very poorly way with seemingly not long to go.
Once in the home and under the care of the staff she settled very well and began to recover. Within a few months, she was really thriving and in excellent health and back to her old self.
This was totally down to the
wonderful care of the staff and the camaraderie of the fellow residents.
She continues to thrive and has been there 3 years now.
I am so glad she is here and we were recommended Hill House.

My Mother-in-law entered Hill House 3 months before my Wife died. When she took up residence she was in a poor state of health, confused and dehydrated. Very soon, with care and regular meals, she started to get back to her old self. With the devotion and care of the staff, she coped with the loss of

I left the NHS where I was Ward Manager of an elderly care unit at the Royal Free Hospital when I assumed control of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd following my mother's retirement in 1998.


I am immensely proud of the standards of care we achieve and the family ethos and feel which runs through the heart of our homes.
