My mother, who has dementia, has lived at Seymour House since 2015. Her care continues to be exemplary, which during the pandemic, is a great comfort and relief. The staff are wonderfully caring and clearly genuinely affectionate and at the same time totally professional. They are always cheerful and
tender with Mum and pleased to talk to me and the family about Mum, her needs, health and state of mind. That she's almost always smiling and cheerful herself, however vague and uncomprehending, is clearly thanks to the attention, kindness and professional care of the staff. Most have been at Seymour for years and talking of smiles, of course, the staff must wear masks at all times at present, but you can tell they're still smiling warmly behind them. So although that's confusing for Mum, we feel that nonetheless, she continues to respond to their mindful and tender care. Although the pandemic has meant that until now we've only had 'window visits' with Mum, nothing is too much trouble to the staff. Huge thanks to them all.

The care home is a safe and friendly environment. The care home has handled the covid pandemic with total professionalism. We have been kept updated fully during these difficult times. The staff are friendly, caring and very knowledgeable in the handling of the residents' requirements. Well done to

My father is very happy at Seymour House. The staff and management are excellent. They have been very vigilant during these difficult times and managed to keep the Home Covid free. My sister and I have been able to see our father either through video link or window visit which has helped my father enormously.
The staff have maintained the social activities in the home themselves to help keep the residents active and involved. I would recommend this home and feel lucky that our father is living here.

I would just like to put on record what a wonderful team and great work the carers do at Seymour house. My mother has been in the home now for nearly 2 years, she has Dementia and could not look after her self anymore, but since being in the home, she looks healthier and her weight has stabilized. It
has been tough times with Covid but when we cannot visit, we arrange zoom meetings so we can see each other and have a chat. Also, the home send pictures of her and she is very happy there. I can't praise them enough.

Unfortunately, the care my father received was very lacking. His dementia was not managed in a sympathetic way. He and we as a family were made to feel embarrassed by Dad’s behaviours which were typically dementia behaviours, very sad.

If you are looking for a home for a loved one, please take the time to view Seymour House. You will find every member of staff to be welcoming and caring.
The facilities are excellent - well-furnished bedrooms, a large lounge, separate dining room, well-equipped bathrooms, beautiful large garden and
separate areas for spending quiet time with your family when you visit.
The best thing about this home is the staff. They are all so supportive, friendly and caring. I sensed that the carers here actually enjoyed their work and genuinely cared for the residents. One member of staff told me "They (the residents) all just need our time, care and love and then they will be happy!" I really sensed that atmosphere of care and love.
I would not hesitate to recommend this home and I'm very fussy! It's 'homely'.
The food was beautifully prepared and presented.
They take pride in helping their residents to look the very best they can by arranging hair appointments, manicures etc.
Excellent!

My mother came to live at Seymour House almost five years ago. I have visited eleven care homes and it was the only one that I was happy for her to live in. It is well-managed calm and purposeful activities are offered. Whenever I visited her the communal areas and her room were spotlessly clean. I
did not have to make an appointment to visit. Her clothes were washed and pressed beautifully. The staff were always kind and supportive and it is all credit to them that she improved significantly with their care. She felt safe and happy there until she passed away. I am most grateful to everyone at Seymour House.

My mother was admitted as a long-term resident at Seymour House in Nov 2012 and passed away peacefully in her sleep on 1 Oct 2018.
As her Dementia progressed the care she received from the staff was exemplary - caring, kind, infinite patience.
I could not have wished for better for my Mum.
A special
mention for the manager whose professionalism is a shining testament to this care home.

My father lived at Seymour House for 1 1/2 years before he, sadly, passed away.
The staff at the home were brilliant. They looked after my dad so well, I had never seen his happier. They kept him occupied by making sure he interacted with other residents and treated him with so much respect. I would
not hesitate in recommending this care home to anyone.

A year has passed since I last reviewed Seymour House Northwood & so I would like to simply update my previous review. My dear dad has been resident there for 2 1/2 years now & the time has passed so quickly, which must indicate that he is as settled as he can be. Dad's dementia was never going to improve,
but I couldn't have imagined he would end up living somewhere where he is so well looked after.
The manager is both so personable & efficient & selects her lovely staff so carefully; they are all amazing & work tirelessly to ensure that the residents' needs are met - thank you everyone! - & also to the wonderful Activities Co-Ordinators, the cook, the cleaners, the handyman and laundry lady.
It is a bright, happy environment. Again, I really cannot recommend Seymour House Northwood highly enough. I am so grateful that there are Residential Care Homes like this to care for our loved ones & they should get the recognition they deserve!
