Over the 8 years of living in the home, I have found the overall experience to be good. Most staff are friendly and chatty, the care I have received has always been satisfactory and my dignity needs are always met.

It's only ever been a friendly experience, very kind people. I'm happy with my mother living here. It's always a warm welcome. I feel part of the homes community and get on very well with everyone in the care home.

After a few teething problems my grandma has settled in well. Most of the staff are great and interactive and you can tell they care. I do think the activities are great and keep my grandma involved. The food is always of a high standard and her room is always kept clean and tidy.

My Mum went to live in Pennine Lodge, Harraby, Carlisle at the beginning of August after 2 months of being in hospital. My sister and I viewed Pennine Lodge prior to my Mum moving in and felt very comfortable and at ease that our Mum would be cared for there. My Mum received the best care and nothing
was too much trouble. Sadly Mum passed away this week, but their care and attention were amazing from start to finish.

My wife receives excellent and considerate care at Pennine Lodge. All the staff are unfailingly polite and caring towards my wife. She now requires nursing care which has not led to any reduction in her level of care. When my wife came to Pennine Lodge in July 2024 we were both apprehensive but we soon
realised that she could not be anywhere better.

My dad received end-of-life care at Pennine Lodge in August. He had spent 8 weeks in hospital and had to be moved when they couldn't do anything further for him. At the time, Mam and I were devastated he couldn't remain in hospital.
We looked at 4 care homes in the Carlisle area and, for us, Pennine
Lodge felt right not just because of the facilities but because the staff were welcoming, sympathetic and caring towards us.
Sadly, Dad was only with us for 6 more days when he moved into Pennine Lodge, but in those 6 days, he was much more peaceful than in the hospital. The staff were so caring and respectful towards Dad and us, they made his last days just that little bit more bearable. Thank you.

We looked at six different care homes in the area before choosing Pennine Lodge as our first choice for our mother who has dementia.
There is something about Pennine Lodge that makes it stand out the home has a warmth and homeliness that feels very special.
The staff are outstanding in the sensitivity
and kindness they have shown to our mother in their care for her as she settles in as well as for us, her family.
We are so happy that our mother was offered a space here.

My mother was in the Pennine Lodge Care Home Carlisle Nursing Home for three weeks and then died in May as expected. The management could not have been more professional.


In the last week 20th September, 2023 we managed to get my mother-in-law a place in the nursing side. My husband and I transferred

her from Edinburgh. She had been in a week and all the staff popped into her room to say hello. There are activities every day of the week for her even on weekends. All the staff are like angels!

As most people know they have relatives and loved ones that need 24-hour care and a care home is the only option finding the right one can be very challenging and upsetting. I visited many care homes to try and find the right one and was extremely alarmed at some of the standards in some of them I viewed.
However, when I entered Pennine Lodge, I got a friendly welcome from the manager and she showed me around personally and the room that my dad was looking to stay. This was a difficult decision that was made easier knowing he would be well looked after and within a care home that I felt was homely and then was offered a lovely light and bright room overlooking the garden. As I work full time, it is wonderful to be able to go in and out without any difficulty and to have the flexibility during the day for visiting. I would recommend this care home to anyone in my situation who is looking for a care home with a caring friendly and committed staff to their residence.

Went to visit my mother on the 8th of February 2023 at 14:00, and stood at the door for 15 minutes waiting to be let in. No one came, I had to go as I couldn't wait any longer as I was going to work.
