Manton Heights Care Home is nestled in a popular residential area of Bedford.

The home is purpose-built and offers bespoke, person-centred care for individuals with Residential Dementia needs
Manton Heights is centrally located with easy access to a wide number of recreational facilities and amenities, including a good range of shops, cafes, and restaurants, all of which are within a 5-mile radius.

If you like sports, nearby is the Bedford Blues Rugby Club, Bedford Athletics Stadium and Bedford and Country Golf Club - all within a 3-mile radius.

I would like to thank the staff at Manton Heights for putting in so much effort and time into entertaining the residents. She really is very passionate about her job and goes the extra mile.
I have found it very stressful having to put my mother into a care home but the whole team at Manton Heights
are absolutely amazing!

When you walk into Manton Heights you see people smiling. Everyone is friendly and keen to help. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed. The rooms are light and airy and there is a lovely outside garden area to sit in. It is comfortable and clean and informal. There is a relaxed, cheerful and respectful
relationship between staff and residents. It is easy to see that the staff really care about the residents.

My mother moved in at the beginning of July. I have only managed to visit once, but I am very impressed with Manton Heights care home. Mum is well looked after, and anything she wants or needs, she only has to ask. Fortunately, my sisters and niece live more locally and have visited often. They are
also very impressed, and it's a great weight off our minds that Mum is getting such a high level of care. The building is modern and well maintained, the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient.
Mum has her own room with an ensuite, with a nice view out of the window. The meals are very good with a variety of choices at every sitting.

Would be good if you would answer the door to allow visitors in. Came at 11am and rang the doorbell for approx 10 minutes.
Wonder why you feel that is something that is acceptable. Still, it’s not as though, this is a highly paid-for service.

The staff and building are the best - thank you for looking after Mum for us.
The staff arranged a birthday party for Mum; it was lovely, and we all enjoyed ourselves.
The parking is very handy too.
After the care provided, Mum can now return home.

Nice place, my kids absolutely love coming to visit their great nan as it's so welcoming here. The activity lady is wonderful, always happy/bubbly and always finding something for people to do and keeping the residents and visitors busy!

My mum came to Manton Heights Care home with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, she found it difficult to get used to a new place. But with the help of friendly staff making her feel comfortable after a while she felt secure and at home. I felt good knowing that my mum was safe, secure and busy participating
in the activities that she enjoyed doing.

If someone you know has just been admitted to Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre for rehabilitation please rest assured they are in very safe hands.
My mum was transferred here 3 months ago after suffering a life threatening stroke leaving her with extremely limited movement and speech.
Since
then the rehab team have put her through a regular routine of cognitive therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy which has seen her go from strength to strength.

I found my stay in Manton Heights to be most critical in getting me back on my feet and well on the way to becoming fully independent. After traumatic surgery by specialists at NHS Abden Brookes. I found all aspects of Manton Heights with regard to post-operative care and treatment to be very professional
and highly satisfactory.

Can't thank the staff enough for the care they give to my aunt. She was really poorly when she moved in but in just a few weeks they have her medication all sorted and it's given on time. My aunt, who is almost fully blind and was struggling to get around, can now walk well with a frame, each time I
have visited (unannounced) my aunt is in her own clothes, very clean and just looking so well. The staff speak to the people in their care with such dignity and respect, it is a comfort to all the family knowing that my aunt is well cared for and in a safe place. Thank you to all the staff.

My father moved in earlier this year and we are now on the third manager, I really hope this one stays!
Most of the staff are friendly, but there are times when I feel I can not ask questions because they are always busy.
The food always looks nice and the staff have been kind enough to offer me some.
The entrance is warm and welcoming and the rooms and communal rooms are very clean. My only complaint is there are not enough activities and my dad spends most of his days in his room.

My sister-in-law moved to Manton Heights just after her Birthday and missed her Birthday treat, usually a Chinese meal.
We had a lovely evening in the cinema room with a Chinese takeaway for my sister-in-law. Many thanks to one member of staff, in particular, for arranging the drinks and a cake for
the Birthday girl.
The carers are very patient with the residents and it was good to chat with the dementia ambassador.

My auntie has recently moved into Manton Heights Care Centre due to her dementia becoming difficult to manage at home. One member of staff, in particular from the home, has been so helpful in explaining everything to the family and making the transition easier for us.
The staff are so friendly and

Brilliant care. Must be one of the best.
Well managed with an excellent manager and excellent team. All work together and know what other people in the teams are doing.
Well managed speech/occupational therapy rehab.
Really is an excellent centre, so happy my wife went there - very lucky.

My father stayed at Manton Heights Care Home for over 4 months and only left as he came to live with us. Choosing a care home is very difficult but we were so lucky we chose Manton Heights. Although my father did not want to go into the home for respite care, he very soon changed his mind once he was
there. The rooms are a very good size and the layout of the home has been well thought out. However, the main reason both my father and I think so highly of the place is due to the staff. They are all very special people who really care about their work and the residents. My father made many friends in the home and still talks about them a lot. I cannot fault the care my father received whilst at Manton and have a great deal of respect for the hard work, kindness, patience and professionalism shown by all levels of staff in the home.
Both my father and I have no hesitation in recommending Manton Heights.

The decision to place a loved one in a care home is huge and, to say the least, a very daunting one. I have found all the staff at Manton Heights, from domestic staff all the way up to the management team, to be extremely respectful towards my mum. The staff have worked extremely hard to make sure that
all of my mum's complex needs are met whilst showing high levels of compassion, patience, and a desire to create a safe environment where she feels valued as a human being. As a relative, I feel that any concerns I may have are always listened to and acted upon. Huge thanks to all the staff at Manton Heights.

My mother came to Manton Heights from hospital on the Monday 7th February 2022 for end of life.
What a wonderful home. The home, the staff and the manager could not have done any more for my mother or my family. My mum is still with us. The manager has let me and my sister stay with my mother the
whole time. Continually asking if we need anything. Bringing us food tea and coffee. The care of my mum is outstanding. Always caring for her. The staff, before they leave, alway make sure they come to say goodbye at the end of their shift. If my mum was well enough to go into a care home I would definitely choose Manton Heights.

Sian Hughes, Lifestyle Lead at Manton Heights Care Centre, is dedicated to creating meaningful and engaging experiences for residents.
With seven years in care, she started as a Community Support Worker before progressing to senior roles.
Sian joined the Manton Heights family as a Senior Rehab Assistant at the ABI Unit nearly three years ago. In February 2024, Sian moved to the role as Lifestyle Lead for Manton Heights Care Centre.
She completed her D.O.V.E.S dementia training in June 2024, further enhancing her skills.
Sian loves her role, leading a supportive team to bring joy to residents’ daily lives. She values the strong family atmosphere at Manton Heights, where staff, residents, and families support one another.
