Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Thank you for your review – we were very pleased to read your kind comments and good scores regarding your father’s care at Mill View. In regards to activities, we have a full and varied schedule of activities that take place every day, which are planned according to feedback from residents – if there is something, in particular, your father would enjoy doing we would be happy to look into organising this for him. Although taking part in activities, supporting residents to continue to enjoy hobbies they’ve always taken part in or discover new things they’d like to do, is very important, we also recognise that on some days, residents may not want to take part, and we always respect their wishes in this regard too. We also offer 1-2-1 activities for residents, even if this is just sitting and chatting with them over a cup of tea or taking a walk in the garden or to the local shop. We will pass your comments onto the care team regarding mealtimes and ensure your father has full support where he needs it to enjoy his meals. In regards to the footwear we will let the team know – if this happens again, please let us know as soon as any shoes or slippers cannot be found and we will do our best to help you find them – of course, we also keep any lost property which we can look through for you. I have found all the staff at Mill View to be very professional, very kind, very helpful, very caring and all work extremely hard. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
Initially, I found the situation very upsetting but I have received great comfort in knowing that he could not be in a better Care Home where he is happy and he is safe.
I am extremely grateful to everyone at Mill View and cannot thank them enough.

In regards to the building, we have an ongoing maintenance and investment to ensure Mill View’s interior and exterior remains at a high standard – this has recently included a complete redecoration of the communal areas on the first floor, and we are also happy to let you know that we are replacing much of the furniture soon too. Of course, if you notice anything that is not up to par in either your resident’s room or in any area of the home, please do let us know and our maintenance and housekeeping team will be happy to assist.

Job Title: Home Manager
I am a dual-qualified and registered adult and children’s nurse with 40 years of experience. I spent 25 years in the NHS in a variety of roles, from Registered General Nurse to Paediatric Ward Manager. I left the NHS in 2007 after completing a Level 5 Leadership and Management course in order to manage a care home.
Being a Home Manager carries huge responsibilities. You have to be a good communicator and have a passion for caring for others. However busy it gets, I take the time to walk around the home and speak with residents, relatives and colleagues. It always reminds me of what differences we're making in people’s lives. My team is amazing, and I look forward to working with them every day.
When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my husband and two rescue dogs who we adore. When I can, I also like to travel up north to see my children and grandson. But most days you’ll find me pottering in the garden or curled up with a good book.
