    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

I think he is looked after very well and he seems quite happy with his care. I think the staff do a very good job and he is in the best place for him.

My mother has been at Langford for around a year now and I would wholeheartedly recommend this facility. The staff are always friendly and helpful. We moved my Mum as we felt she was declining at the previous facility. There has been a marked improvement in her general health since that time. My Mum
is not always easy and I find the staff deal with this exceptionally well.

Last year it was decided that my 94-year-old mum required full-time nursing care. When I first stepped into Langford View I was impressed with the warmth and friendliness that surrounds the building. Mum has been in another care home on a temporary basis so we have somewhere to compare with. Mum has
settled in at Langford View and is very happy there. She has recently said, "The carers are now her friends". That is all I could wish for. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and always done with a smile.

My mother first came to stay in March 2017. Langford View became her home until her death on 14th April 2018. Mum got to know here carers very well in the past 12/13 months. As a family, we have been very happy with the support from the Langford View staff.
This is a very happy home and we have all
enjoyed being associated with the people we have met.

A family member has been in Langford View since November 2017. The rooms are very pleasant and there is nice scenery.


The food is outstanding and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. My family member is very happy there!

The care home is clean, friendly and safe. As soon as I walked in I knew the environment was the right one for my mother-in-law. The staff are fantastic and incredibly caring and the staff treat patients as individuals and with respect and dignity. I felt that nothing was too much trouble. Even when
my mother-in-law was behaving in a stubborn and cantancerous way the staff showed immense patience and care. I am so relieved we have secured a place in an excellent home.

My mother-in-law does not like to socialise with other residents despite encouragement from my husband and I. She prefers to remain isolated in her room depending on family visits, outings and T.V. For entertainment. Therefore the manager arranged for a French language student fo visit for a conversation
with my mother-in-law. She is fluent in French, Flemish and English and speaks some German. This allows her a chance to use her language skills and to communicate in a fun way. At 93 years old she has become forgetful at times, but remembers languages really well, which increases her feelings of self-worth and confidence when able to use these skills. We are most grateful for this opportunity by the manager which shows care and thought to individual needs. The French student also benefits so we hope this will continue for both.

In the main all the staff are good. The home seems/appears to be understaffed as at times you are not able to find a carer/nurse when needed. Some of the staff you have the impression that they do not care. The home seems to be a little dishevelled and untidy. The lounge could be better set up, cleanliness
is ok but only after speaking to the manager. I visit daily to be sure that my husband is being looked after, personal hygiene not good on a daily basis.

From the start of the week, until the end, we have met with such kind, thoughtful staff who willingly move schedules and jump hoops to help us take our gran on outings or fit in to give meals a little early. They have been very proactive in checking what we needed to get gran out and about and friendly
to us. We can see how genuinely they care about what they do and are such a blessing to all who they care for.


Thank you all so much, they also go out of their way to organise taxis, special appointments, early starts, late nights and helping when we aren't around with setting up DVD's and Skype.

Generally, Mum was extremely well cared for and looked after. Especially since the appointment of the new nursing manager.
Personal issues well responded to etc...
When mum expressed her wish to attend a church service, the Bursar arranged a computer based 'attendance' a lovely touch.

Mum has told me that she has enjoyed her stay at Langford view. The staff have been kind and helpful. She has enjoyed the company and activities and she has eaten what she has wanted and needed. Her room for respite was clean and had plenty of wardrobe space and drawers for putting her clothes in. Her
medication has been administered as and when it was needed (twice daily). Thank you. She doesn't mind the thought of coming back.

Before placing my mother in this home we visited a number of other homes and found Langford View met her needs. She has now been a resident for 4 years and we have been generally happy with standards. Activities are varied and a number of regular visitors. Musicians etc contribute to the rota of activities.
The reception staff are very friendly and you always feel welcome when visiting the home.

Everything is really good and I cannot ask for more. I maintain my independence and go to the garage every morning to buy a newspaper. They have arranged for me to get a bus pass so that I can visit my hometown in Witney. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff always go the extra mile.

My stay here (over 3 and a half years) has been a delight. The bedroom and bathroom are comfortable, adequate for my needs as are community rooms. The staff and manager are all very helpful and friendly. I hope to stay here until meeting the grim reaper.

Farida

Farida Ait-Tales

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2006

Farida Ait-Tales is the Home Manager of Langford View in Bicester. Farida joined OSJCT in 2006 and has 27 years of experience in the care sector. The most exciting part of Farida’s role is looking after people and working closely with lovely and caring people.


Farida currently holds a medical degree and has an NVQ in Management and Leadership.


Farida and her team at Langford View Care Home aspire to not only provide the highest quality of care, but also aim to re-build a resident’s quality of life and will go the extra mile to achieve this. Many of the residents who make Langford View their home may have lost something in their life; be it a family member, their health or even their self-esteem. Farida and her team try to help residents to fill the void that one of these losses might have left and potentially change something in them by giving them a new lease of life where possible. Working together, the team create a culture within staff, residents and volunteers to introduce this behaviour into the daily routine.


Farida remembers fondly many occasions where the positive culture at Langford View has impacted residents' lives. One such memory is of individual whom Farida saw grow from a woman who had lost the ability to speak her native tongue, into a woman with a sense of fulfilment. Farida and the resident immediately bonded over their love for the French language: the resident disclosed that being able to pick up her French again was something that she longed for dearly, having come to England from Belgium during the war. During the time that had passed, she had unfortunately forgotten her native language and missed it greatly. Farida arranged for an A-level student studying French to come to the home on a weekly basis to speak French and discuss points of interest about Belgium in an attempt to jog the resident's memory. This resident-specific activity aimed to assist the resident to reach back to her roots and regain her own identity.


Each success story gives Farida and the team the drive to build on the positive culture at Langford View by improving lives, society and the community no matter how small the act may seem at the time.


Terri

Terri Reeve

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Joined: 2022

Terri joined the Trust in November 2022 as a carer. This was her first position in the care industry, having previously worked in hospitality. She lived in Tenerife for five years, where she and her husband started their family before moving back to the UK. After managing a pub for seven years and as her children grew older, Terri decided to pursue a new career.


She has always valued working with people and being part of a community. Supporting the older generation has been especially rewarding for her. As a carer, Terri built strong relationships with residents and enjoyed assisting them in their daily routines. She took particular interest in the activities and one-on-one sessions with residents, which led her to apply for the role of Activity Coordinator in June, with encouragement from colleagues.


Terri understands the importance of activities in maintaining residents’ wellbeing, promoting physical and emotional health, and reducing social isolation. She is dedicated to ensuring all activities are engaging and meaningful, whether in group settings or individual sessions.


Outside of work, Terri’s life is busy with her three sons. Her family enjoys active pursuits like hiking, biking, and sports.


Tricia

Tricia Thomas

Job Title: Bursar

Tricia's role as Bursar at Langford View means that she is often at the centre of activity within the home.


Tricia is passionate about the high levels of care we provide at Langford View and she decided to take the step into her current role as Bursar after having been a care leader and achieving qualifications in Care Leading, Dementia and Management and then being the home's Admin Assistant.


Tricia is an expert in managing a busy workload and, among her many responsibilities, she supervises ancillary staff, arranges training, is responsible for ordering for the home in-line with budgets and ensures the smooth-running of day-to-day activities such as gardening, residents’ shopping and serving meals.


This expertise and willingness to help was recognised with two years’ nominations and one win for Oxfordshire Office Support of the Year within the Trust.


On special occasions and during fundraising activities you will often be able to see Tricia in full fancy dress, wearing a wig or even joining a conga around our car park! In her spare time, Tricia enjoys walking her dog and spending time with her family.


Emma

Emma Cottle

Job Title: Admin Assistant

Emma is Langford View’s Admin Assistant and will be the first to offer a very warm welcome to all visitors.


Emma enjoys the varied nature of the role, whether she is organising staff rotas, reviewing residents’ financial accounts or showing round a new resident and their family.


Emma holds NVQ levels 2 and 3 in Care and brings nearly three decades of experience working in the care industry. Emma always knew she wanted to work in care and has held a number of different roles within the Trust. Emma finds her current role rewarding because of the difference she knows it makes to the lives of Langford View residents. She likes nothing more than to hear residents laugh and seeing the smiles on their faces; particularly if she is dressed up for charity!


Emma likes to spend her spare time with her grandchildren and tending to her garden.


Salin  (Sunny)

Salin (Sunny) Puthenparampil

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2024

Sunny arrived in the UK in 2012 as an international student and went on to complete both a bachelor's and master's degree in nursing at Liverpool John Moores University. With a career in care starting in 2010, Sunny has held a variety of roles including Health Care Assistant, Senior Care Assistant, Care Coordinator, Deputy Manager, RGN, Clinical Deputy, Clinical Lead, and Interim Home Manager.


In a previous position as Interim Home Manager, Sunny successfully turned around a care home that had been rated inadequate by the CCG and closed for admissions. Over 16 months, Sunny improved the home’s standards, achieving a good rating and reopening the home for new admissions.


Sunny has worked with leading organisations such as Care UK, Excel Care, and Fremantle Trust, gaining extensive experience in both resident care and home management. Joining the Trust in April 2024 with a Level 7 Nursing qualification, Sunny is committed to upholding high standards of care and supporting residents’ wellbeing.
