My husband came in for respite; for two weeks, and the staff really looked after him. They were very helpful when some of his clothes and glasses went missing. Nothing was too much trouble.

We thought we had found the perfect place for our mother but it was not to be. There were too many dementia residents 98%, my mother has short term memory loss but loves to chat, do activities etc. The food was excellent also the staff were very caring and friendly.
We were told that there were a few
residents with dementia, we were given false impression so had to move our mother.

My mother lived with the staff of Herald Lodge for two years until she sadly passed away.
The staff at Herald Lodge were fantastic from the first visit until the end. The first time I took mum to look round this and other homes, she immediately felt at home, so much so she wanted to stay from that
first visit and not go back to her actual home. There are so many examples of just how good the staff are, too many to mention, better giving an example of their caring nature. One memorable time was when I took mum back after spending Christmas Day with family at my home, she gave the staff a hug, and got a hug back, nothing more to add to this except it was not a one-off, this happened regularly.
It was clear for all mums family to see she was happy there, and that meant a lot to us. We cannot express how much it means to know your loved one is being cared for so well they feel it is their own home. A massive thank you to all the staff at the care home, you are all stars in our eyes.

Mum has been here six weeks after a hospital stay. The staff have been brilliant. The home is clean, the food outstanding. Mum has settled far better than I ever expected, and that is down to the care and attention of everybody here.

My mother spent 6 very happy years at Herald Lodge before she passed away last week aged 101 years. She had a lovely, modern room with ensuite facilities. She was immediately welcomed as part of the Herald family and the staff were amazing! They became part of our family too. The loving, tender care
she received was outstanding in every way. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone.

The most important aspect of a care home is for your Mum to feel happy, loved and well cared for. I would say in the 6 years Mum has been here she had a new lease of life. She was happy here, she was always shown respect and treated with dignity right to the end. After breaking her hip 7 weeks ago they
looked after her exceptionally well and made her as comfortable as they could.
I would highly recommend this care home as the staff really care and love the individual.

My mother moved into Herald Lodge on the 1/.2/19. After a week living at the home, I began to see a difference in her, she is back to reading and doing crosswords, which she hadn't done for some time. She is also eating more than she was due to the encouragement of the carers. I can't praise the staff
at Herald Lodge enough, every single one is helpful and friendly.

On my initial visit to view the home I arrived unannounced and nothing was too much trouble for the staff and management, they were very attentive. The managements love for the care of the residents showed, making this home top of my list of homes. So when I contacted some six months later asking them
to help care for my father the same love and commitment has continued. They have been very supportive and understanding towards my father and my family as we have just lost my mother. My father is very well looked after here and they are all understanding regarding our loss and my father's needs.

My mother arrived at Herald Lodge on October 2015. Although we had a few issues initially they were sorted out fairly promptly. She settled very well and seems very happy with the staff and other residents. I find the staff and management very polite and helpful and they are all very approachable regarding
any issues that may arise.
I would recommend Herald Lodge to anyone looking for a care home.

Since my father has been resident at Herald Lodge I have been impressed by the level of care, the professionalism of the staff and the commitment shown by staff and management to his health and well-being. The rooms and communal areas are very clean and tidy and there are lots of activities for the
residents to get involved in. My only criticism is that sometimes items go missing when they are sent down to the laundry but overall my dad is very happy to be there.

Both myself, my brother and sisters are very happy with the care my mum is receiving at Herald Lodge.
All of the staff are kind and considerate and do their best to interact with the residents and we understand the difficulties they face.
One minor gripe is not being able to get our if there is no
one on reception and having to go hunting for a member of staff. You need a high-level button to activate the door.

My mother, aged 92, was recovering in hospital following a fall at home. She had been suffering from early dementia, mostly some short-term memory loss, but it had been increasingly difficult to get her to eat and drink, and together with the fall emphasised that she was no longer able to look after
herself. I spent time researching various care homes and was already impressed that Herald Lodge had received a clean bill of health from the Quality Care Commission, and was immediately impressed by the atmosphere and facilities. Even more important was the superb attentive and caring attitude of all the staff, from the manager to the front line carers. They looked after my mother as soon as she arrived, sitting with her to encourage her to eat and drink, organising food she particularly liked and co-ordinating her medical care. Sadly her condition deteriorated despite this exceptional care which continued right to the end. This is an exceptionally good home I can highly recommend.
