Furnished to the very highest of standards, it offers a homely yet luxurious environment, with all residents having en-suite rooms. The home offers excellent facilities, including a hair and beauty salon and bright café, perfect for residents and their families. Externally, there are beautifully landscaped sensory gardens.

My mum was in Parker Meadows for almost a year after becoming unwell and no longer able to live independently. Throughout her stay she experienced excellent care from the team on Poolside. They patiently supported her when she was struggling both mentally and physically initially and encouraged her
to gradually regain as much independence as possible as she settled. She enjoyed the food and introducing other residents to a game! She did not join in with many of the other activities – mainly due to her hearing problems, but there were a great variety of options.
Communication with all the staff has always been good and quickly responsive.
My mum has now moved to a care home much closer to my sister (both my sister and I live at quite a distance), it was hard for her to say goodbye to the staff as she had grown very fond of them.
Thank you for taking such good care of her during her stay with you – we felt she was safe in your hands, and we really appreciate that.

My dad moved to Parker Meadows in June 2023. I had been encouraged to look at Parker Meadows by people who work in the care profession who highly recommended it. The process of initial contact, visiting, my dad's assessment and then being offered a place, was done with great kindness and sensitivity.
My dad chose Parker Meadows and as soon as he moved in he began to think of it as home. The transition from his own home where he had lived for 55 years to a care home was challenging for him as he had always been very independent. Asking for help was not something he was used to but his carers worked with him with great kindness and patience. Above all, he felt safe at Parker Meadows. He loved his room and the personal items he had chosen to be with him. He felt valued and part of a large family. He had company and also as much space as he wanted. He was free to choose what he wanted to do. It is a wonderful care home with a caring and compassionate staff and lovely facilities.

My sister is living in a bungalow which is lovely and she is happy she still has her independence and also the help she needs e.g. meals, being interactive with other residents.
I have travelled down from Scotland to help my sister settle in, and I feel better seeing how she is now.
The staff have
been excellent, everyone is so helpful and nothing is a bother.

My mother chose to move into a home and after accompanying her to a few Parker Meadows was her favourite. She is registered blind and in the main pretty self sufficient. The staff at the home have been so supportive and worked to create a safe, comfortable environment for her. They have really engaged
with the needs of a blind person and are accommodating, providing her with the comforts of her own home - from connection to her own landline with the transfer of her own phone and her original home telephone number and internet connection to a virtual assistant which has become such an important piece of equipment for her. She has settled in so well in just a few months and is so happy here, fully immersing herself in the activities arranged by the home (sight allowing) and loving the company of the residents and the staff, all of whom have been so helpful. Thank you to all the staff at Parker Meadows, you have brought joy to my mother.

Our meals are produced fresh in-house by our head chef and their team and are based on feedback from residents in our regular forums so we always make sure we offer meals that feature everyone’s favourites. Dad had to move from his warden-controlled flat (which he loved) after 2 appalling, 2 week long admittances hospital. I managed to get him into Parker Meadows who have been exceptional. He wasn't happy for the first week because it was new to him and his dementia had got so much worse from his hospital
experiences. 4 weeks on and he is much happier and so am I. He gets everything he needs and he is safe. The food is fab, the nurses and carers are second to none and nothing is too much for them. His room is lovely, has everything he needs and we have brought things from home for him to help him remember family, friends and his life with Mum who sadly passed away last year. He is encouraged to move about and eat well and has help with anything he needs. I have a bit of life back and he is near enough to visit every day and it's wonderful to see him interacting with the staff and having jokes with them. It's a warm, happy and cheerful place and my mind is at rest.

Mum was a resident at Gracewell/Parker Meadows from July 2017 to March 2023. She settled quickly and it soon became ‘home’. She enjoyed the entertainment, particularly the music and the church services. Staff were attentive to her needs and they became more like friends. The team spent time with her
and were aware and adapted appropriately as her needs changed even as she became a little more difficult. Issues raised, including medical concerns, were dealt with appropriately and we were kept informed promptly. We were incredibly pleased as to how all staff, from cleaners to managers were aware of her end-of-life care and really appreciated the personal touches. On her 90th birthday, the catering team provided friends and family with a buffet and birthday cake. In difficult situations, such as COVID, we were kept informed of visiting arrangements according to national guidelines and were able to continue visiting most of the time. We are pleased we chose this care home for Mum.

My wife has been a resident for just over two weeks and my first impressions are good. The carers are efficient and good with my wife, despite being a bit stretched and busy at times. I was disappointed today when my wife was confined to bed from midday onwards because the sling allocated to her room
became soiled whilst she was being cleaned after a bowel movement and there was not another sling available! Another resident was the same.

I am pleased that you have had a positive first experience with the home and the care team. With regards to the issues around slings, when a new resident joins us, we provide a sling suitable for their needs, we then re-assess and will order a further sling to enable one for laundering as needed. Unfortunately, due to LOLER inspections (a legal requirement for all lifting equipment), the second sling was not available to be used at that time.
I am sorry that this has occurred, and I have spoken with the team to ensure that we are able to provide a suitable alternative in the future.

Whilst my late father was only at Parker Meadows for a short time, I found the staff very supportive and attentive to both my father and our needs. The admissions manager was very helpful during the admission process, which we would otherwise have found very difficult as my father never wanted to go
into a nursing home. The admissions manager was very reassuring and comforting. During my father's week-long stay, the staff did what they could to make him comfortable and made every effort to find foods that were acceptable to him as well as providing company when we could not be there in person.

My father was a resident with advanced dementia and was at all times cared for by kind, considerate, skilled staff, who demonstrated professional skill in managing difficult situations. As his daughter, I was well supported at all times and couldn't have asked for better end of life care.
My mother
is still a resident. She is well cared for, has a lovely room, she always looks smart and well presented. She is kept busy with a range of interesting activities. I have felt supported by all the nursing, admin and management staff.

My mum came to Parker Meadows for respite over a four-week period. Unfortunately, she only spent four days there as she went into the hospital. However, she absolutely loved it. She said the room, food and staff were fantastic and that it was like a five-star hotel. All the staff we have come into contact

Dad lived for three years and mum for four years on the residential level in Parker Meadows. They were treated with care., kindness and friendship by the staff and I cannot thank them enough. I marked the room satisfactory only because the storage space was very limited with no set of draws.

Lukasz Mikolaj Irzabek

Job Title: General Manager

Before joining the team here, I was an acting commissioning manager. I have a level 5 NVQ in health and social care, as well as qualifications in leadership training. I have also completed the ROSPA level 3 train the trainer course in moving and handling.


Care UK’s values mirror my own, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to work here. It also has a reputation for providing high-quality, person-centred care. As an organisation, there is a strong focus on innovation and a genuine desire to ensure residents’ wellbeing. There is also excellent professional development for colleagues that want to pursue a career in care.


In my role, you need to have compassion and empathy. It is also important to have strong communication skills, patience and adaptability. As with any leadership role, you also need to be resilient and be committed to continuous development.


As a general manager, I am here to support colleagues and to ensure we give residents the very best personalised care, and that they are happy, comfortable and safe. Knowing we make a real difference to people’s lives makes me proud of what we do here. It is also fantastic to see colleagues excel and progress in their own careers.


I have been lucky enough to have many career highlights. Ones that stand out include being able to support homes achieve outstanding CQC ratings and commissioning luxury care homes. Achieving a 10/10 for a home on carehome.co.uk, was also another big highlight.


I have lots of interest outside of work, including science – particularly physics and biology. I like art, music and extreme sports which I balance out with meditation. My focus though is my family.
