Goldenhill Nursing Home is exactly what it says - a golden, beautiful, caring and nursing home. My mum resided there for 5 months as a palliative patient/resident. Mum sadly passed last month, but I can honestly say that I have never known such love and support shown to Mum as from the staff at Goldenhill.
They showered my mum with love and understanding and welcomed the whole family into their family. Mum passed so peacefully all due to the care and attention of the amazing nurses and carers. The nursing knowledge is second to none. They don't miss anything. They gently guided us through the last few days and gave us precious time with our mum. I would not allow any loved ones to reside anywhere else. We will never be able to thank the team enough. The manager and the owners are truly amazing too - they look at every staff member, resident and their families as their own family. They know everyone by name, feed the residents' families and offer immense support.

Thanks, does not seem enough for the gratitude we feel for all the staff at Goldenhill Nursing Home for the care, love and devotion shown to our loved one, and one member of staff in particular who has shown such compassion and understanding during the whole of this awful time when we are separated
from those we love. They show such empathy and kindness and keep you fully informed. Our hearts have been broken by the separation that COVID19 has caused but we are comforted in the knowledge that she is safe and cared for so well, we can ring at any time and never feel we are bothering them at a time when they are under so much pressure. Thank you all, stay safe, stay strong our eternal thanks.

Mum went into Goldenhill during the Covid-19 lockdown so we are unable to visit, but all the staff have been wonderful. They are all really caring and understanding of the difficult situation and we have been made very welcome to video call regularly and ring with any questions anytime. In Mum's words
“this is a first-class nursing home with magnificent food and lovely staff”. We feel very lucky that Mum was sent to this home. The management and all the staff have been amazing and we are very grateful for such lovely caring people to be looking after Mum. We would like to say a big thank you to you all for doing such an amazing job at this difficult time.

Staff were very good but thought the rooms were a bit poor and very small for visitors.
Didn't feel like my nan had much attention; as every time I visited my nan during her short stay, she was found in the same position, and I visited every day while she was there.

My mum was only in the nursing home for a few weeks but she received the utmost care from the wonderful caring staff, especially the person who was with her at the very end.

I have always found Goldenhill Nursing Home to be a very caring, friendly establishment with a nursing/care team second to none. The staff go out of their way to take the utmost of care with the residents treating them with dignity they all deserve and nothing seems too much for them. The management
and staff are there for the families as well making the home seem very "homely". I must also add that the home is kept in a very clean condition without the odours you sometimes get in some care homes.

Mum was diagnosed with a terminal illness in July 2019, hence she needed specialist care which was provided for at Goldenhill Nursing Home.
Such a homely place, Mum was pleased to be a resident here. No limit on visiting any time day or night (if needed).
All the staff were professional, also friendly
and caring.
Mum enjoyed the variety of services which are available to all residents. We thank the home for all their support that was given to our family during this difficult time.

Our mother came to this home from another home who were unable to meet her needs. Since she has been here she has thrived. We are a large hands-on family and cannot fault the care and compassion shown to our dear mum. She is eating a lovely varied menu and is socialising with other clients. The home
and I don't use this loosely is very much a home and nothing is too much trouble. We are all so very pleased and can't thank all the staff enough.

I cannot fault the home at all. It is a real home from home, and I feel, for the residents. A really good atmosphere always on entering. The staff from the manager down are all very good indeed. I have no concerns whatsoever for my mum who has been a resident at Goldenhill Nursing Home for just over
three years now. I never score excellent though as there is always room for improvement in any organisation I feel.

My mother spent the last 6 months of her life at Goldenhill Nursing Home. The home is bright and welcoming with all the facilities that one would expect from a modern day nursing home. However, the care that she received was exceptional. All of the staff were so caring and professional throughout her
stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff and I know that my mother was extremely happy and comfortable during her stay there.
I would not hesitate to recommend this nursing home.

This nursing home is friendly, homely and professional. On my first visit to view the place, I was shown around by one of the staff who had never shown anyone around before. Her attitude, friendliness and knowledge of the home made me feel at ease immediately. Mum only spent a few weeks here (after
being neglected in a previous home for four weeks before) and I can say that they made her end of life care the best possible.
We were extremely nervous about leaving her in another nursing home after the previous experience but the staff and management soon put our minds to rest. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
We could visit at any time and there was always staff there that knew of mum's day, what meals she had eaten etc. In the room, their 'log' book was meticulously filled in every day with all aspects of mum's care.
I can only say, go and see them, don't read too much into CQC reports. This home should be 'outstanding'
P.S. the food was excellent, all home cooked.

My family and I have been very pleased with the exceptional care my mother has received since being admitted to Goldenhill Nursing Home. Since her arrival about two months ago, she has settled in very quickly and feels comfortable and content. Her medical, physical, dietary and psychological needs
are all being fully met and the careers, nurses and management team go the extra mile to make sure my mother and her fellow patients are well looked after and treated with respect, dignity and great consideration everyday with the aim of making the Nursing Home as near as possible to a second home for everyone. We should like to thank everyone for all their hard work, patience and caring attitude.

Well, what can I say because words can not truly express how we feel about Goldenhill Nursing Home. In a nutshell, it was "brilliant in every way from the start of our journey which started in May 2017, from when our adorable sister moved into the home right up until she sadly passed away and also beyond.
The staff were truly amazing right from the housekeepers up to and including the management. I can not tell you how loved my sister felt and also us her family.

Since moving into this home my mother has improved 100%. She is well looked after, well fed, so much happier in herself and so much more alert. We as a family couldn't be more pleased and would like to thank all the staff very much.

Our Aunt had been a resident here for 4 months. She settled in quickly because everybody works really hard to treat everyone as an individual and talk to them.
We do not live near and when we visited, we came for hours. We always felt welcome and never felt we were in the way. The manager and staff
always made themselves available to talk to us.
The food is wholesome and varied, the home is lovely and clean. Activities like bingo, singing and card games were very much enjoyed by our Aunt.
If you get the chance take up a place here.
Our Aunt died recently peacefully at this home and we were helped very sensitively to come to terms with this.
It's hard to pass the care of a loved relative to strangers even when you know it's the best thing for them. All the staff at Goldenhill help to make this as easy as possible.

For the last three months, my sister has been a resident at Goldenhill Nursing Home receiving palliative care. It is a caring, compassionate and welcoming place with a good atmosphere where you can feel reassured that your relative is being safely looked after with excellent medical and physical support
to help them through their daily health struggles - a massive plus which gives relatives peace of mind.
Management and staff are really friendly and approachable both to my sister and her family when they visit. They act immediately on any changes regarding her deteriorating health to keep her comfortable.
All meals are excellent with plenty of choices. Residents can have their own televisions, photos and mementoes in their own rooms to personalise them and make them feel homely. Activities are on offer indoors and outdoors (inc. Fairs, BBQ's and Concerts) and residents and their visitors are encouraged to join in. Wi-Fi, Hairdressing and Chiropody services are available on-site.

Hi, My mom has been at Goldenhill now for just over a year. She is 94 and not very mobile. The staff are always very helpful and kind to my mom and me. Its seems a happy place for the residents and the people that work there. My mom has her hair permed about once a month at the salon there. She is happy
and contented. A couple of times because of her health, she has had to go to the hospital, both times one of the staff were kind enough to go with her and stay at the hospital, till I could get there. The home is always very clean and no smells. Some times I visit my mom when they feed her, the food always looks tasty as if its home made. The manager is always very helpful and free for a chat.

My brother has been in Goldenhill Nursing home for about nine months now. If you are looking for a home for a loved one please look at this home, it is one of the best in Stoke on Trent. I have family members who work in other homes and some of the stories they tell are not too good i.e. smells, abuse,
unskilled staff. Well I can honestly say Goldenhill is like being at home. I could live there myself, staff are brill. Nurses are great with patients and cleaners are spot on. As for the manager, he is brill, he is a nurse himself so he knows wot patients wont and need and he makes sure they get it. The staff treat patients as if they are their own family. My brother loves it there - he says it like being in a hotel. He was very independent before being took ill so he was hard to please. The first few days he said how good it was.

Our mum has been in the nursing home since it first opened we have found the standard of staff and management to be exceptional nothing is to much trouble regarding the care of our mum. The food is of a high standard and excellent variety also the rooms and surrounding area's are kept clean and tidy
