Our Mum spent her last days in The Wolds. She had been in hospital and then went into The Wolds on end of life, palliative care. A difficult time for us but The Wolds understood this and knew not only how to care for Mum with respect and dignity but also looked after our family with attentiveness and
compassion. This, we are forever grateful for at such a sad and difficult time. The level of care is exceptional from every aspect at The Wolds, throughout all levels of staff. It is not as though anyone is just doing their jobs, it is as though this work comes naturally to them. High level of professional care in a pleasant, hotel-like environment. The Wolds was recommended to us and we highly recommend this nursing home ourselves. Thank you.

We placed my mother-in-law in The Wolds in April, after five weeks in hospital and we didn't expect her to last very long but after a few months, she has picked up and is much better than we had hoped. Although she cannot go home due to the onset of dementia, she could not be in a better place. All
the staff are very caring and helpful and encourage residents to be as active as possible without forcing them.

My 97-year-old father went from Lincoln Hospital to The Wolds Care Centre for palliative care and he was there for just over 2 weeks.
It was such a sad and emotional time and difficult to come to terms with so quickly.
We looked at other care homes but as soon as we visited The Wolds, it was an instant
feeling of "this is where we want Dad to be cared for".
From Reception onward, it was all so welcoming spacious and calm. The gardens were lovely and you could see that it was encouraged, for those who could, to enjoy being outside. It has more of a hotel feel about it.
Without exception, the staff were just so wonderful and supportive. They treated Dad with such respect and kindness, whilst delivering extremely professional medical care. His room became our home, day and night and they always respected our time together. They looked after us too, bringing us meals on trays and generally being there for us all.
It is such a comfort to know that Dad had such wonderful care in his last few weeks.

The Wolds Care Centre are an excellent care provider.

My grandmother in law moved here recently and has received nothing but a high standard of care, compassion and dignity. All staff members are constantly attentive to the resident's needs and wishes.

Since she has been in their care, my grandmother

in law has improved physically, emotionally and mentally. I cannot say a bad word about anything, they work in a truly person-centred manner, providing a high quality of care that one would expect for their family.

The Wolds Care Centre are a genuinely outstanding care provider and should be very proud.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.100)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.100) out of 10 for The Wolds Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.518 for The Wolds Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 114 Ratings = 4.518

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.582 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Wolds Care Centre is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.2 = 0.682

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
