The team at Lake View are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents and supporting them to have a very active role to play in how their home is run. There are resident ambassadors, who do everything from showing new residents and their families around their home, to providing feedback at residents’ meetings.

The home is thriving, with so many activities to enjoy, from karaoke, pamper sessions and a knit and natter group, to movie afternoons with popcorn in the home’s cinema, trips out into the community, pub lunches and animal visits.

The local community are embraced into life in the home, from school children who take part in activities, to a community choir, musicians and entertainers who regularly perform for the residents. And the home has its own piano for anyone who fancies some spontaneous music!

Lake View has its own a hair salon, with a mobile hairdresser visiting weekly, as well as a coffee shop for ‘Tea Tuesdays’ and relaxing with loved ones, who are welcome at any time.

The beautiful landscaped gardens have raised planters and wheelchair friendly pathways. This summer the residents have loved growing their own fruit and vegetables from seed in the polytunnel, harvesting their produce for the chef to use in the kitchen, giving them such a sense of achievement.

Mealtimes are another highlight, with home-cooked meals and freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea. In the dining rooms residents enjoy everything from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays, plus themed menus for special occasions.

The spacious bedrooms are beautifully furnished and decorated, with walk-in wet room showers.

Loved ones are embraced into life in the home and are welcome at any time. And there is a private family and friends Facebook page, where they can see what the residents have been enjoying doing, even if they can’t be there in person.

This home is outstanding. My grandad needed emergency respite care and the home manager went above and beyond to assess and offer comfort and reassurance to the whole family making the process much easier and less painful. My grandad loves the home, believes he's treated like a king and nothing is ever
too much for the amazing staff that are a credit to the home. My family are forever greatful

We had to look for a care home for my wife and Lake View was by far the best one we viewed. I took my wife a while to settle in but all the staff were excellent in making my wife feel at home. The food is first-class. Lake View is a very friendly home and is very well-run.

My mom has been at Lake View Residential Care Home since August 2024. Mom has taken a little bit of settling in, but from day one, the management, care and cleaners have really helped her and have gone above and beyond to get her settled.
Lake View staff are amazing with family and friends who visit,

Had yet another lunch/dinner with Mom at the care home and the service, quality and value for money are excellent.
Mom doesn't like travelling anymore, so the family come to her and she really enjoys our meals together.
I would highly recommend this to anyone.

I am very happy with the support my dad is given. The staff are very helpful. The only thing I would say is that some of dad's clothes go missing, I know this is not easy to amend as some of the residents forget things. I did try to mark all of his clothes, the socks and pants can be difficult to mark.
Would it be a good idea to put these in a washing hot bag and mark with the room number. The other thing is could the morning staff put some different clothes on.

My mum has been in Lake View Residential Care Home for almost 2 years now and I can honestly say that the care she receives is second to none. There doesn't seem to be a very high turnover of staff which means that you always see the same friendly and familiar faces. As I have no siblings, Mum's care
has been my sole responsibility but when she moved into Lake View, I received so much help and support from all of the staff to the point that they now feel like my extended family. There are lots of activities for the residents to get involved in and the staff always show so much care and compassion. You are always kept so well informed about everything to do with your loved one, no matter how minor. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Lake View to anyone.

I moved from Telford to Wales in September and can now only visit my sister once a month instead of weekly. Since moving staff have telephoned me with any problems regarding my sister and kept me informed at all times regarding her welfare. I know she is well looked after and there is a feeling of genuine
care from staff.

My mum has been at Lake View since October, the staff are amazing, kind and considerate and friendly. Mum has dementia and gets very emotional at times but the staff take time with her and calm her down. I wouldn't want Mum to be anywhere else.

If you want the very best care and support for your loved ones then Lakeview really should be at the top of your list.
My mum is so well cared for in a lovely homely environment, the staff are amazing, kind and considerate treating residents with respect whilst maintaining their dignity.
The food
is first class with an excellent choice of menu. The housekeeping team work endlessly to ensure that residents can be proud to live in such a lovely home.
When we chose Lakeview to care for Mum I can say without hesitation we chose the very best.

My mother is a resident of Lake View Residential on respite care. She has settled in really quickly and has been made to feel very welcome. All of our concerns about her going into a care home were immediately put to rest upon viewing the facility, meeting the staff and other residents, everyone seems
genuinely happy, positive and upbeat upon every visit.
The facilities are very good. The staff have gone to great lengths to accommodate my mother in terms of what she would like to eat and encourage her to interact. They have even helped her maintain outside friendships helping her write cards/letters which is really important to help her to engage with people socially.
Mum seems very proud of her room, always happy to give anyone a tour who comes to visit taking pride in the overall facility. They have been good at communicating with the family and alerting us to any medical appointments or developments with Mum and enabling her to call us at will or for us to call her for a chat.

My mother has thrived since arriving at Lake View, both physically and mentally. She has a good rapport with the staff who are supportive and encouraging. Her room is well-appointed and fully meets her needs; she now refers to it as her home which is wonderful to hear. The staff try really hard to provide
interesting activities and encourage her to engage. The resident's views are actively sought across all matters affecting their care at regular residents' meetings and Mum really appreciates the staff listening to their suggestions. We are happy and reassured by the care Mum receives.

My father was a resident for respite care for just over two weeks. He was made to feel very welcome on arrival and settled quickly. The environment was very clean and pleasant. When I collected Dad I could see he had been treated with kindness and respect throughout his stay. All the staff were lovely.

My mother went into Lake View initially for respite care following the death of my father at the end of 2020, during Covid so we were unable to preview the home but it had a good reputation. My mother had dementia which steadily progressed. Our first impressions during visits (once allowed) were mixed.
Sometimes Mum was unkempt and this was a concern. Things did seem to improve in 2023 as staffing seemed to improve/increase but I still feel dementia residents could have been better occupied. At the end of her life, however, care was exemplary and could not have been better.

Mum was accepted into Lakeview.
I and my sister looked around and thought immediately that it was the one for Mum.
Fantastic people work there, both male and female, which I think is so important as it shows diversity.

My name is Dannie and I am the Home Manager at Lake View I am also the Home's Moving and Handling Trainer and a trained Mental Health First Aider. I have worked for Sanctuary for 10 years. My Background has always been working in the care industry from the age of 16 when I started as a domestic assistant.


I love working at Lake View and I have a passion for leading a team that is caring, and kind and will go that extra mile for our amazing residents and their loved ones.
