We came to visit Mayfields in April when the world seemed very bleak and at last, we were surrounded by people who promised to be able to give our dear Mum the care she needed. Three months on and we are delighted with the care and support we and our Mum have received. She is happy and content and we
are secure in the knowledge that she is understood - the world is no longer bleak.

We have had both my husband's parents in the care system and the homes they were in were good but came nowhere near the care and attention my mother receives.

There is a pervading atmosphere of kindness. Generally speaking, Mayfields does a challenging job well.

Mayfields has been helpful in the evaluation of my mother prior to admission.
On admission she was made to feel very welcome, pictures were put on the wall quickly, an extra rail was put in the toilet area.
Staff are approachable and provide information as needed.

We were recommended 'Mayfields' by a friend who had past experience of it as her mother had stayed there for respite.
We were very impressed by the high standard of the care home. The reception area was a lovely start to our visit and we continued to be impressed as we had a tour of the building. The
staff are all lovely and very caring and ensure my mother's needs are met.

Overall it has been excellent, just what mum needed to get her back on her feet so that she is now able to go home. The kindness and care from all the staff was 1st class. The only concern was not having 1 English carer on at night, this did worry mum and she could not always understand what they said.
Only 1 meal not really suitable for old people was chicken drumsticks because of bones.
Cleanliness could be improved on dining chairs and tables noticed food on them just before meals.

Very well organised, caring, helpful, attentive and trustworthy. Mum had a nasty experience in a previous care home and was untrusting, scared and reluctant to eat or let anyone touch her. Since being in The Mayfields she has flourished, put on weight, happy and trusting of staff. It has restored our
faith in the care system and raised the quality of life for mum.

Since moving mother from a care home without a Dementia bias, her physical and mental facilities have improved enormously. I.E from a selfish viewpoint is to see mother in matching clothing, yes a silly thing but mother was always proud of her appearance, even though she may not be aware.
I now do
not worry about her safety. The staff I have met in the last two weeks have been 'on the ball' regarding care and have been very professional.

The staff at The Mayfields Care Home could not be more kind and helpful. We visit fairly regularly (twice a week) - staff are always thoughtful and all seem to know my father and what he likes to do, drink and eat. The activities are varied as most clients are women. They are sometimes a little too
geared towards women but lots of effort is made to encourage everybody.

My wife has now been in The Mayfields Care Home for two and half years. During that time, I have been very pleased with the care she has received both medical and social and well-being. Staff show an extraordinary degree of patience with all of the residents. Staff always make visitors most welcome

I've always found The Mayfields Care Home staff to be unfailingly friendly and welcoming. They obviously care very much for my father and I always feel confident that he is very well looked after. The Mayfields Care Home is a very well designed facility. It is light and spacious with several different
communal areas to allow residents a choice. It always feels clean and well maintained. Our family feel very happy that dad is at the home - it is by far the best we have experienced.

My mother has been a resident at The Mayfields for 3 years. She is treated with kindness and respect, the staff know her and understand her preferences, even though she is no longer able to verbalise her needs.

Very homely care home with professional staff who really do care and go the extra mile. They are kind and caring and nothing seems too much for them to do so I am pleased that my mother is in such a lovely place, to quote her words "I feel happy and safe here". As soon as you walk into The Mayfields

With a career rooted in compassion and dedication, I began in a brain injury rehabilitation unit in 2006, rising from a care assistant to a managerial role. My leadership journey continued in 2021 as a manager at Castlemeadow Care, where I honed my skills in residential and dementia management. Today, I proudly serve as the manager of The Mayfields Care home, where I am committed to providing high-quality care and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff.
