As with all residents who are nearing the end of their life, it is always a pleasure and honour for all the nurses and care team, to care for them in their final days. Also to meet with the family, which is really on a daily basis, to support them through a very emotional period, which at times is very much like being on a roller coaster, as hopes can sometimes be raised if their loved one has a good day. It was a pleasure for myself, as Clinical Lead and the Nursing team to have looked after your mother, she had quite a determined, strong, stoic character, and accepted all that she endured with dignity. There was mutual respect from all the care staff and Nurses who came to know her well. Many conversations and debates were had over many topics, she was a good conversationist, and had a good sense of humour. She is very much missed by the team and residents. Best wishes, Alison.
