Due to a sudden change in my dad's health, I had no choice but to place him in a residential setting, however, due to Covid, I knew I was not going to be able to view. In life, I have had cause to visit many care homes and I knew exactly where I wanted my dad to go to be looked after. I was sent photos
of a room I knew he would love. He moved there straight from hospital and I was able to see him that day, distanced admittedly, to help him settle. The room in the flesh was equally as nice as the photos. It’s been a harrowing time for all these past months, but the professionalism of every member of staff I have come into contact with has been reassuring - they have and continue, to keep my dad safe. Whilst it’s never easy to make the decision on a care facility for a loved one, in Pemberley and its staff, I’m confident that I made the right choice.

Very happy with Pemberley, the staff in all areas care greatly and this is reflected in any contact with them. The environment is kept clean and fresh. The rooms are lovely. The grounds are kept to a high standard.
Everything is done to help a resident feel at home, nothing is too much of a problem.

My dad has been a resident for over six months now and has come to see it as his home. He is looked after well. The staff are friendly and helpful even when they are under lots of pressure with the current pandemic. His room is comfortable, and he feels safe there. It is hard not being able to visit
at the moment, but we are able to see him via a video call. Due to his condition, it is difficult to find out what activities he gets involved in, but I know he has been on a few organised trips prior to the current restrictions.

My mum has been at Pemberley for a year now and at the beginning, I was absolutely against it. I’ve heard many rumours about care homes and never entertained the idea of my mum living anywhere else, but with me. We have lived together for over 30 years. My husband, my Grandson, mum and myself were a
very happy family unit.
I have to say, on first impressions, Pemberley looked to be a lovely place. The building, gardens and rooms were of a very high standard. It is known in our family, as the hotel.
Having been there a year. I can honestly say. It is fab in so many ways. The staff are truly genuine and caring towards the residents. Nothing is too much trouble.
Since the lockdown, they have been stringent in following the Government guidelines. No one in, no one out. And, safe to say. No known cases have been reported.
It’s sad, I cannot see my mum, but I know she is in the best possible place and cared for so well. Looking forward to seeing her and having lunch at Pemberley. Stay safe.

As we live in Scotland we were unable to visit my mother-in-law regularly or frequently but we took great comfort knowing that she was being so well cared for right to the end. The staff were always so pleasant and helpful and we know that they take pride in the way they look after the residents, which
gave us confidence that she was in the best place. Thank you seems totally inadequate but we do thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My father was admitted to Pemberley for end of life care following 6 weeks in hospital. During the settling in period there were many challenges but the team on 'Hampshire Avenue' faced these with professionalism and genuine care. Always respectful of how difficult things were for Dad as well as for
the family. We were always made to feel welcome at any time. The gardens and sun terrace were a favourite of Dad's. The food was superb and varied while being nutritious and comforting like homecooked. Towards the end, Dad's care team helped him pass with dignity, surrounded by his family in quiet calm surroundings, for which we are forever grateful.

Both my parents moved into Pemberley 4 years ago. Sadly Mum passed away last year.
I have nothing but praise for all the staff they are so caring and kind. Always ready for a chat and listen to all our worries with concern and guidance.
There is a variety of activities that both my parents really

My husband has lived in Pemberley House for the last four years. He has advanced Multiple Sclerosis and over that period of time, he has been well cared for by the fantastic nurses and carers. One of the hardest choices is looking for a care home for a loved one when they are not able to live in their
own home due to an illness.
All the staff at Pemberley House are all so welcoming when we arrive every day at the home, they make you feel like a big family.
We get offered free beverages and every day fresh cakes from the Chef.
The garden at Pemberley House is such a relaxing place, the activities staff have worked very hard with some residents to make it so colourful with beautiful flowers. All the residents and staff enjoyed a fantastic BBQ last month in the garden, everyone enjoyed the day so much we are going to have another one soon.
The assistant manager is always available to discuss any worries we may have as a family about my husband's illness progressing and to give us her support.

Since moving in, he has blossomed in himself, he appeared happy and contented. The care and support he has received has been exceptional. The level of interaction has transformed his levels of
well being.

My father moved into Pemberley in August 2017. He was 95 and still mentally very alert but getting very frail. The staff at Pemberley regarded his respected his needs to retain as much independence as possible but treated him always with compassion, respect, consideration and gentle care. Sadly he died
this month just after his 97th birthday but no one could have been better cared for. All the staff in whatever role treated my father with such tenderness and attentiveness that his family will always be in his debt. They also cared for me too when times were difficult. My father became very fond of the staff at Pemberley and I cannot praise them or thank them enough.

Very kind staff - Auntie's room is lovely and overlooks the garden - which is tended very well. I feel she is safe, well fed and happy.
The care that she receives is excellent, I am so pleased she is here, I no longer worry that she's lonely, Pemberley is a fabulous home for my aunt.

The receptionist has a delightful manner. A pleasure to deal with.


Food is OK and carers are very nice. Mum's only reservation is the night staff. Sometimes the agency staff comes across as a bit disinterested.

Thank you for your comments, Marina. I know your mother, has enjoyed the food more since our new chef started last October and he has provided a more varied and interesting menu for the residents. With regard to agency staff, we use one trusted agency to help cover when our own staff are taking annual leave or unexpected illness. The agency do try and send us the same carers who know and understand our expected levels of care.

We have been very impressed with the caring attitude shown by the manageress and the friendliness of other members of staff. Our friend has commented on the occasional low staffing levels and the fact that some seem to have limited command of English.

With her wealth of experience and compassionate nature, Louise plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth onboarding process for new residents and their families.


As a Customer Service Manager, Louise understands the importance of providing support and guidance to new residents as they transition into their new homes. She goes above and beyond to ensure that each resident feels welcomed, comfortable, and supported throughout their journey. Louise's warm and friendly demeanour creates an environment where residents and their families feel heard, valued, and cared for.


In addition to her role as a Customer Service Manager, Louise actively participates in various activities and events within the care home. She understands the importance of fostering a sense of community and engagement among residents and staff.
