I am really happy with the standard of care my mother has received since arriving at Pemberley House. The staff encourage her to engage with the other residents but she is allowed to make free choices at all times. She always looks well and clean and I am kept informed. The food standards and choices
are good and her room and clothes are clean at all times.

I have been very pleased with the whole experience from the start to the current situation.
My mother needed care locally and Pemberley House stood out from our first visit. The staff were very helpful and took time to show us around.
As well, they were very efficient and were very understanding in
arranging for my mother to move in at short notice.
My mother likes the staff and they are very caring and understanding and the environment is very good.
The food is nice and there's a good variety of menus.
The rooms are nice and there is flexibility so you can have your own space and you can join others in the communal area for meals.
As well, if there is an incident they are very professional and keep you informed of what has happened, i.e. a fall and what they are doing about it
So this gives you peace of mind that your loved one is safe and that is key.
The flexibility in visiting times is good because it means we plan ahead with no restrictions.
So I would recommend Pemberley House to everyone.

My father has been resident at Pemberley for 18 months, during which time we have experienced some very challenging times with his behaviour resulting from his Alzheimer's. The staff have sometimes struggled with this aspect of his care but have communicated with us and together we have found ways to
resolve the problems. Dad has only ever been treated with compassion and dignity, from all staff including hospitality, administration and care staff. He loves his home and has a wonderful relationship with staff. He is happy and content and importantly, he is safe and well cared for. Thank you, Pemberley.

My mother was treated with care and dignity during her sad decline due to dementia.
Staff showed genuine interest and affection.
Communication was overall good and I was kept informed even if a mistake was made.
The support and care shown to myself as a relative was also excellent and Mum's final
days were handled with sympathy and compassion.

Although sadly my father only had 1 week in Pemberley House before he died I can only give the highest praise to all of the staff that we came in contact with.
Everyone went the extra mile to help us. The home itself and my father's room were very comfortable and welcoming and nothing was too much
trouble to ensure his comfort and wellbeing.

My husband needs 24hour nursing care following a stroke he suffered. I have found staff to be dedicated, conscientious and caring, across all departments.
His needs are addressed in a timely and caring way. If I have any concerns, staff respond helpfully and do their best to ensure both my husband's

Since Avery Healthcare have taken over the running of Pemberley House and a permanent manager was appointed, the standard of care my mum has received has improved dramatically.
Mum has been at Pemberley House since January 2014 so we have seen a great deal of change. The permanent staff are marvellous
and appear much happier and better trained now. I would still like fewer agency staff, particularly at night. They do not care in the same way.

My father has been in Pemberley for nearly 4 years. The standard has improved to a very high standard in every area. The staff are very caring and some even go well above the required standard. They have shown tremendous care and support towards my dad and us recently after the sudden death of my sister.
Everywhere is very clean and welcoming. The new addition of daily cake in the coffee area is a brilliant idea, especially when residents meet friends and relatives for coffee.

This is a wonderful care home providing good care for my mother. She has been here 3 years now and aged 96, is much healthier and happier than she has been for a long time. The staff are excellent, know all the residents and what they like and are caring both for the residents and their relatives. I
can highly recommend them.

I am pleased with the welcoming smiles and help and friendliness of all staff. The outings and indoor activities are so enjoyable to the residents. Also, an air of peace and quiet if any should require it. I have got to know some to chat to about there past occupations etc which seems to please them.

Dad moved here in July - he is well looked after by all staff; nursing, housekeeping, activities and catering. All friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Dad has dementia and is already looking better and much calmer. Other family equally impressed.

We were very apprehensive as to how the move from another care home would affect mum. We need not have been concerned as, because of the excellent care and attention she has received, she has quickly settled and accepted her new home. She is relaxed and much happier than she has been in a long time.
She loves joining in with all the activities and is pleased to have made new friends. We now feel that mum's needs are being met and her quality of life has improved. It has been great to share so many laughs with mum since she has moved to Pemberley.

Life at Pemberley is very comfortable - good personal care and nursing requirements are met. The food is excellent, with a good variety of menus but I would prefer the supper time to be a bit later. I have noticed a change lately in the atmosphere and attitude of the staff, and it all seems much friendlier.


There are now more activities and I join in those which particularly appeal to me. My accommodation is excellent, especially the wet room and I am very comfortable there. I have recently purchased an electric wheelchair, which fits perfectly into my room, and has given me back a great deal of independence.

Too many changes of management. Too many agency staff - improving at present. Not enough mental/physical stimulation due to insufficient staff. Not enough regular staff on units - moved too often so no consistency for residents. Care staff very caring and gentle, often don't have time for one to one
with residents. Hospitality staff in short supply.

The main problem is that there are too few regular carers. Even if there are four on duty there are at least three residents that need assistance from two or three carers. When this happens those needing toileting or a drink just have to wait until someone becomes available. There is usually a relative
willing to make tea etc. This is not a criticism of the carers, most of whom are exceptional. The residents are rarely taken out in the minibus. My husband has been out only four times in the two years he's been there. All staff friendly and welcoming.

Staff are very accommodating although some are a little inexperienced. The home as a whole needs more structure and consistent management. Residents need more stimulation and contact to avoid loneliness.
