Haven is a stunning home with fabulous spaces to enjoy, from beautiful gardens and ensuite bedrooms, to a hair salon, welcoming lounges and a library.

But it’s the team, who are devoted to enriching the lives of their residents, that make it feel like home. The way they support family and friends to be part of life in the home is very special, giving it a very warm, family feel. The staff are passionate about ensuring their residents are doing the things they love in an environment which is as close to home as it possibly can be.

And the community are truly embraced into life at Haven. At the recent 10th anniversary party, many of the guests were the loved ones and friends of residents, neighbours and community volunteers. And the Vicar of Hatch End even blessed the home as part of the celebrations, which also included a delicious barbecue, a magician and live music.

There is so much to do at Haven, from music, pamper sessions, garden games and gentle exercise sessions, to bespoke individual activities and reminiscence sessions.

Providing residential and dementia care, the team also provide respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for carers who need to plan a short break themselves, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

The home has established wonderful relationships with local schools and colleges, embracing youngsters into life at Haven, whether through work experience placements or inviting them to perform music or dances for the residents.

This summer the gardens were completely transformed, and the residents loved taking part in the gardening club, where they grew their own fruit and vegetables, which they harvested to use in the kitchens.

And mealtimes are a real highlight of the day, with delicious home-cooked cuisine, from roast dinners with all the trimmings and fish and chip Fridays, to lighter options and home-baking for afternoon tea.

A fantastic place with staff who really care. My mum had a fantastic few years here. They really looked after her and made her feel at home. Mum had dementia, although she was quite young. The home worked hard to find the balance between her care needs and her sense of independence. The garden is great
in the summer, and the balcony means even the dementia wing has access to outdoor space. Thank you all so much.

The home is friendly and attentive to my mothers needs. Staff are always helpful and respond quickly when asked. Getting through to my mother by phone can take several attempts at times. Overall we believe my mother is being well looked after by kind and patient staff.

My wife has been resident at the Haven for a year and she is being looked after far better than I was able to manage. She is content.
All staff are competent, appear to be well-trained, are happy to be there, and are unfailingly pleasant.
Communication between staff and relatives is very good which
gives confidence that residents are being well looked after and that any necessary changes in medication or treatment are only made after consultation and agreement.
It is a pleasant place to visit.

I do believe Haven is the best care home my mother could be in. It is well furnished and very clean, it has a lovely atmosphere, and there are plenty of activities for residents to take part in. It is quite a small home, which means that it's able to give a very personal level of service that larger
homes can't. The staff know the residents well and seem happy to be working there. They genuinely do their best to provide the highest level of care for my Mum, who has been a resident for 10 years now, and who is very happy with everything.

Whenever I have visited a friend who is a resident over the last six months or so I have found the staff very welcoming and very caring for the residents. The rooms and hallways are kept very clean and comfortable. There is always a pleasant feeling when being in The Haven.

My mother has been at the Haven since May 2023 and has received the most amazing care. She came out of hospital care after breaking her leg badly and had spent 6 months in bed. The team at the Haven were confident they could get her walking again even though the hospital told me that was unlikely. Mum
is now able to walk with help and is growing in confidence. All the staff are very caring and attentive with nothing being too much trouble. The food is excellent and a good choice every day. The communication from the home is excellent. I often pop in at random times and I am always met with plenty of staff and activities going on during the day. In the summer the garden was a great place to sit on a Sunday with Mum and enjoy the weather. Overall I am very impressed with what the Haven has been able to achieve for my very elderly mother.

My brother moved into Haven Care Home only 2 weeks ago. Settled in very quickly after having to move from another home that was closing down. Staff have all been very helpful and always let me know if there is a problem. Lovely home, beautifully kept and so far no problems.

I have seen four other care homes over the last ten years, this is by far the best. The building is light, airy and spacious. The staff is attentive helpful and caring with very few acceptions.
There is a genuine effort made to engage with the residents, although sadly some don't appreciate the work
put in, the staff keeps going.

My mother has been a resident for nearly eight years and I have always found the care to be of good quality. With a couple of exceptions, they have always been kind, respectful and helpful to Mum and her family. Over the years, there have been several changes in the management team which has been disruptive
but the present manager, assistant manager, the office staff and reception are all excellent. I would like to see Mum's room cleaned more thoroughly.
