Based in a quiet village near Weymouth, the home is located in a quiet leafy area but has excellent links to shops and local amenities.

Housed within a 19th century period house, it has been specially adapted to provide the highest quality nursing care for its residents. Person-centred care packages mean that residents have all their care needs met, whilst friends and family are informed about any major care decisions.

A menu of tasty and nutritious food is provided for residents on a daily basis, and any special food requirements are taken care of.

My grandma moved into Fairfield House at the beginning of May 2021, from the day she moved in she was made to feel very welcome. The facilities manager was very helpful, he decorated grandma's room personal to her and displayed her photographs on her wall within twenty four hours of her moving in. All
the care staff have been very friendly, caring and very approachable.

My dad lived in Fairfield for two years. He was cared for very well up until the end of his life. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and my location, unfortunately, I was unable to be with my dad at the end. I was updated and reassured regularly. One member of staff went above and beyond. She came in, in
her own time to ensure dad was not alone. After his death, the home continued to support the family we received a thoughtful handmade memorial gift. I would highly recommend Fairfield and their team.

Mum was at Fairfield House for five years and was apart of the family there. She was treated with respect, dignity and kindness during her stay there. There was an overwhelming feeling of her being an individual and person-centred care. All staff appear to have a personal relationship with Mum and both
they and the manager supported Mum with the complexities and dynamics of her family members. Thank you all so much for all you did for Mum and us. A discussion with one of the end of life carer's led to a coming together of Mums threes children, who have not spoken for years. This enabled Mum to be supported by all three of her children during her death. Again thank you.

We are more than happy to have my father living in this nursing home. He is receiving excellent care. The home has a lovely homely feel, very welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We have peace of mind knowing that he is receiving the best of care.

As soon as we walked in we knew this was the place for dad. I was there when dad arrived and the staff were brilliant with him. He settled in very well and every time - everyday- we visited he was up dressed and sat in the lounge. It was unfortunate that dad was not well at all and took a turn for the
worst very quickly. We cannot express enough for the love, care and attention we received from everyone. Thank you all.

I am a friend and visitor to a charming, elderly gentleman at Fairfield House. He has mobility and sight problems but loves his music, a chat and the odd piece of chocolate! He has no close friends or relatives but is a valued and well cared for member of this nursing home family, which I would recommend
in every aspect.

Some initial concerns relating to a member of staff were swiftly dealt with to our satisfaction. We are pleased with the room that mum has. It offers her privacy as is required from time to time. The home is very well managed and the staff are courteous and caring especially with our mum who we are

My Mum has been in the home for 18 months. She has Lewy Body dementia, walking difficulties and partially sighted. Throughout her stay and during several demanding moments, I have found that Mum has been treated with care and respect. A recent remark from a family member visiting for the first time
was 'you can tell when someone does a good job or when they love a job, these carers love their job'. Such friendly welcomes when we visit and information shared when asked (I am POA). I only wish that Mum could be taken out more, but I accept that with her difficulties that is a problem.

My father's been there just over a year. In all this time I cannot fault them at all.


Always very friendly. They come promptly when called by the residents and are helpful with everyone.


Activities are good and engaging, really first class and well run by the manager.


We tried several care

homes for a week or two for respite. Really the difference was staggering. Fairfield House is excellent.


Please do your homework when choosing a home for your loved ones. I'm not easily impressed but Fairfield house we found has surpassed all our expectations.

Fairfield House has provided outstanding care for my mother for years. She has dementia and needs a high level of personalised support which has been delivered by the kind and caring staff to such an excellent standard that she looks happier and more relaxed now than ever. The environment in a large
period house is clean, bright and cheerful and the equally cheerful staff are unfailingly patient, caring and attentive. In fact, it is a home from home where the activities and care are tailored to the needs and preferences of individual patients. The manager is an exceptional leader of her team and, importantly, equally adept at managing the needs and anxieties of relatives and carers when required in the best interests of her patients. The overwhelming impression is of a very happy place to live where quietly professional staff are always on hand to keep residents safe and well. I have no doubt my mother is alive today thanks to the reliable, high-quality care she has received.

Claire is a qualified registered general nurse with more than 6 years’ experience within the NHS specialising in patients living with dementia. During this time she also specialised in supporting and assessing student nurses within their placements. Most of her time spent working within the care sector Claire gained experience in the provision of dignified dementia care by exhibiting genuine respect for the person, and understanding that they are all unique individuals in a distinctive situation. Before joining the team at Fairfield, she spent time working at the Weldmar hospice care inpatient unit specialising in individuals living with terminal illnesses, this helped expand her knowledge in palliative care and symptom control.
