My mother went into Silvermere Care Home after spending a week in hospital following a fall. She was very confused and not wanting to eat. After approx 5 weeks she was almost back to her prefall self. Her care has been first class. The residents are looked after so well, gently encouraged to eat and
take medication, if applicable. They have lots of activities for them to join in with, organised by a great team. The food is of a high standard, relatives can join their family members at meal times, which gives them a chance to review the food. At a time that was very stressful, the management team were very helpful and made the transition from hospital to care home a very smooth process. I can now relax somewhat knowing that she is being so well cared for.

My mother had a one week respite stay in 2019. Overall she had a very nice week and the staff looked after her well and helped her integrate.
Whilst mum tried some of the activities she found that some were best suited to less able residents.

Amazing, warm and competent care home and management team. Very responsive to my mother's needs and attentive to her medical needs and concerns. We feel very welcome to visit and there is a joyful, fun atmosphere in the home with stimulating activities.

I left Silvermere feeling full of life and very fit for a 93-year-old. My only critisim would be on my arrival, when I was taken to my bedroom, accompanied by my daughter and a manager. We were joined by two female staff and I was then asked to count my knickers in the case so that the laundry could
locate them. Surely I could have been spared this embarrassment as I live nearby and would not need the laundry at all?
I hope I will be accepted at Silvermere again, I had a wonderful time.

My Friend came to Avery Healthcare in Cobham for two weeks on the 15th December 2018. He came to Avery Healthcare because he had just lost his wife and was struggling living alone. We then by chance met up with his neighbour who was aware we were looking for care homes. His neighbour informed us of
Avery Healthcare in Cobham which we called up and spoke to a lady.
When we came to have a look, the lady was very caring. All the staff that saw us was very welcoming and really took time to talk to my friend which is what he needed. She also introduced me and my friend to the other managers, who were very lovely. My friend agreed on that day after looking around to come in for two weeks and choose a room with a garden view on the top floor. His stay at Avery Healthcare was exceptional. He really enjoyed his time there and they even had a birthday party for him which was such a delight for him. Thank you to all the wonderful staff and all the care you provide.

My mother-in-law came to stay at the care home in January when her apartment was being refurbished. The care she had received and the support was superb. She enjoyed her time there and had a busy schedule with all the things that go on at Silvermere. My mother-in-law was very well looked after and the
care home management team was always going around speaking to their service users and ensuring the well being of them.
I am really delighted we found this care home as other care homes promise the world and don't deliver. Whereas Silvermere did. My mother-in-law has used other care homes before for respite but never wanted to use them again, whereas for Silvermere she has already organised to come back.
Many thanks to the Silvermere Team. You guys are great.

Overall Silvermere provides excellent care for the residents. My grandmother has been there for four years and during that time, I think she is happy there. Suffering from dementia, it is impossible to have a meaningful conversation with her. As the care home manager and assistant managers have been
excellent and trust each and every carer that they will provide great care for the residents.

Silvermere Care Home has been amazing for my grandad. He really enjoyed his time there. The care he received was fantastic. When he initially came from hospital he had lost a lot of weight and was very unwell. This changed while he was at Silvermere, he gained weight and the food at Silvermere was
incredible. I often had lunch with my grandad and the service was amazing. My grandad was very well looked after and I would highly recommend Silvermere. I would also like to say to the management team were fantastic and put things in place prior to my grandad coming.

My mother lived at Silvermere for 4 and a half years and thoroughly enjoyed her time there. She loved the activities, spa, company and food! She was well cared for and as a family, we could not have asked for better care and love for our mother during her last days. For that, we will always be grateful.

My friend stayed at Silvermere after her hip operation, when she needed time and care to recover. First impression couldn't be better, as the assessment was done in a very professional way, asking all the details needed to when she was going to be discharged from hospital.
When we arrived we were greeted
by friendly staff who offered us refreshments and took us to the room, where everything was ready together with lovely flowers.

Silvermere is the best care home I have ever seen and the management lead all their teams positively. Visitors are made to feel welcome and can see the happiness and hear laughter there.


The open door policy of the Home Manager means that she, or her deputy, is always available to speak to.


It

is good to see management and staff at social occasions, meetings, entertainments and outings (such as last year’s beach trip) joining in to make residents’ lives so enjoyable and include their families/friends.


Everything has been done above and beyond expectations for my parents’ well being and comfort. My father was afforded the dignity and time with my mother that would not have been possible anywhere else in the last few weeks of his life.


The dementia unit is safe and secure for residents without feeling imprisoned or locked away. They are also encouraged to join in the many varied activities and excellent entertainment if they wish and to spend time in the beautiful garden.

My grandad stayed here for a 3 week respite period and I couldn't be happier. The staff were truly wonderful and attentive and he absolutely loved the food there.
Everybody was so caring and patient with his needs and it made me feel so confident that he was getting the best possible care.

Silvermere has been 'home' for my father for 4 years now. The staff understand him and work around his ways, they are generally very caring, kind people but sometimes simple things are neglected. There is a high turnover of staff and I understand the reasons for this.The food, the ambience, the design
of the building, the gardens and entrance are all excellent.
Supper is early at 6pm and it is a long evening for my dad before bedtime. He joins in with quite a few of the activities offered and a timetabled life suits him. He made a few friends in the early days but they all died or moved away. A recent series of falls was very distressing for all but the staff helped us through it, they were visibly concerned for his welfare too. The cost is very high, typical of care homes in the south of England. As my father is as well as he can be, he may be at Silvermere for a long time yet and the cost is a concern. I like the Facebook page as I can see that my dad is joining in.

The food isn't as good as last summer 2017 when I came into respite. I don't always understand the menu - a basic description in brackets would help eg. tarte tatin (upside down apple tart) penne carbonara (pasta with him and cream sauce) etc.


Also, as I watch a lot of sport on TV I would really

like Skysport in my room.

This is a really good place to which loved ones can move when they are in their latter years. My mother has early onset dementia, and the care, company and activities provided have been fantastic when compared to being alone at home.


Highly recommend. Fees are high, but you get what you pay for.
