I would like to thank two members of staff on the ground floor, who went out of their way to make my mother's 101st birthday special. They had decorated an area in the garden beautifully and laid on a lovely cake. Mum and the family really appreciated all the effort.

Our father passed away this week after two and a half years at Acacia, suffering from dementia. We cannot praise highly enough the outstanding care, love, and attention he received right up to, and including his final few days which were handed with great compassion and dignity. All the staff, from
the nurses/carers through to the kitchen and domestic guys, do what, at times is an extremely demanding job and Acacia can be proud of their fantastic teams who operate professionally, positively, and nearly always with a smile. Thank you all for everything you did for Dad. We are truly grateful.

I am satisfied that my husbands' needs are met. His physical and personal care needs are also met very adequately and the staff here all work together and make a good team. Sometimes more staff would be very good but obviously funding is required but they work very hard and are always helpful and polite.
Communication is quite good.

This home is amazing, my mother in law is so happy here. We as a family have been impressed with everything from the carers to the nurses and management and cleaners. We have had the best care, my mother in law is at the end of her life and we are able to enjoy every moment with her. This home should
have a 5 star rating.

Overall very happy with care given to my dad, however, I have had occasion to again voice my concern re the quality of cleanliness of dad's room. The standards have not improved. There also seem to be a sharp turnover of care staff and weekends appear to be managed by temp staff. More recently staff
(carers) appear stressed and unappreciated.

Mummy has been a resident since 2018 on Stanley Ward. The care she has had is wonderful. The staff are amazing and always smiling and love to sing and dance with my mummy. When I go home, I never feel worried as I know she's in safe hands. The food is lovely and so much choice. The activities are so
much fun and such a beautiful garden too.

My mum has been in Acacia for seven months now and due to the high level of care from every member of staff, she has settled in so well. The atmosphere is so welcoming and friendly from all staff and other families. It has a community feel. My other family member is in another care home and Acacia is
so different in the quality of care provided. We are so pleased mum is a resident here.

Our mother has recently been moved to Acacia Care Centre and she is very happy. My sister and I are pleased with her care. She is more active at Acacia than her previous home. The home is clean and smells good. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Angela

Angela Christian

Job Title: Home Manager

I have worked with The Future Care Group for over two years. Initially, as Deputy Manager at Albany Lodge where I enjoyed the challenge of overseeing a large successful team who were dedicated to caring for over 100 residents within the home. Most recently I have been promoted to become the home manager of Acacia Care Centre and look forward to working with the team to achieve overall good in our next inspection report. As a nurse, I know the importance of delivering the very best care possible. I feel it is most important to involve our residents in creating their care plans to enable us to provide the care they want and need.
When I am away from work, I relax by spending time with my family and enjoy reading, cooking and walks.

I have over 30 years of experience in nursing and have been in management role in care establishments for about 10 years. I look forward to utilizing my wealth of expertise at the Acacia Care Centre. I have worked with the Future Care Group for 30 years. I started off as a Domestic Assistant and worked my way through to be Head of Housekeeping and now I am the Home’s Administrator. I have enjoyed looking after the home’s cleanliness or assisting in other departments of the Home including Chef duties, taking care of providing nutritious meals for our residents. Over the past two years I have been part of Administration team working as an Administrator and looking after the reception. In my spare time I enjoy playing bingo and spending time with friends and family.

Job Title: Lifestyle Lead

I joined the Acacia Care team in 2014, initially as a healthcare assistant. This role provided valuable insights into the unique needs and individuality of all our residents. In late 2020, I transitioned to the role of a lifestyle assistant, and this year, I am grateful to have assumed the position of Lifestyle Lead.


My inspiration to work with the elderly stems from a close relationship with my grandmother, and my passion for the well-being of others has been ingrained in me since childhood. I take pleasure in spending time with residents, engaging in conversations, and learning more about their lives. Discovering their interests, hobbies, and needs enables me to plan a diverse and engaging daily activities schedule. This approach ensures residents remain actively involved in social and uplifting activities.


While devising new ideas can be challenging, the reward comes when these ideas come together. Bringing a smile to a resident's face is something I cherish and find immensely gratifying.

Sleman Hassan

Job Title: Maintenance Manager

I have over 20 years’ experience of working in maintenance engineering. Throughout my career I developed a wide range of skills in plumbing, electrical, locksmith, painting and general building maintenance. We have a great team here, at Acacia Care Centre. I particularly enjoy liaising with residents and their relatives which enables me to make repairs in a timely manner and keep our residents comfortable.
Outside of my work life I like spending time with my family and skydiving.

Ann Nash

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping

I have worked with the Future Care Group for 15 years, initially as a member of the housekeeping team. My extensive housekeeping experience enabled me to progress to the Head of Housekeeping role. My priority is to keep the home clean and hygienic to high standard with assistance of hard-working team of housekeepers. I enjoy daily interactions with our residents and their families which makes my work worthwhile. In my free time I love spending time with my grandchildren. I also like playing bingo and going away for breaks.
