My wife has been a resident only a short period of time and I have visited most days. I have found the staff from top to bottom to be efficient and pleasant at all times. I could wish for no better place my wife could be. I give it 5 stars.

My Aunt has received excellent care in the home. Her needs are always catered for and I am very satisfied with the care and attention shown to her. The staff are always polite, happy and welcoming.

This facility is very well run, the staff are very pleasant and very efficient. The food is of a good standard, cleanliness and hygiene are excellent. My only comment would be that it is sometimes slightly understaffed at weekends. I would recommend this facility highly to anyone.

The staff are excellent, kind and friendly. They make the resident feel at home. Always there to give assistance when needed.
My dad is always clean and tidy. He expressed his love for the home and often remark on his happiness being at Acacia.

Acacia Care home is a lovely home. The residents are well cared for. The meals, you have choices for the residents to choose from. The staff are friendly and the managers, they listen to what you are saying. When myself and family visit Acacia Care Centre, we feel comfortable. No complaints.

I am the son of a resident. I live in Canada but happens to visit my father every two years over the period that he has been a resident of Acacia Care Centre. I usually visit unannounced but on each visit, I always found my father in good spirits, clean and well looked after. It is with much satisfaction
that I would not hesitate to recommend the staff and management for the care and professionalism that is demonstrated at the above facility.

Communication between staff is satisfactory and also between relatives.
However, I was concerned about my mum and the nurse on duty was so helpful and resolved an outstanding request apparently since my mum moved in in August 2018 to contact wheelchair services to repair or change mum's wheelchair.

We looked at a lot of homes before deciding to choose Acacia Care Centre for my mother. It was one hundred per cent the right choice.
She was so happy here and made some lovely friends. Highly recommended as the staff here are so caring and loving.

Father has been here for approximately 8 months and has settled as well as can be expected for someone suffering with his conditions. He seems happy here on the whole. Most of the staff are very caring, helpful and have made an effort to get to know my father. Lovely grounds that the entertainment team
make full use of during warmer weather. Just a shame more residents' families do not join in here more often.

The staff here are great and as my mum had a really bad brain trauma she needs total care and support which in the main has been vital. The food I feel could be 'healthier' but I haven't seen all meals - there seems to be a lot of baked beans. Sometimes it seems as though they are understaffed which
means waiting a while for Mum to be changed although this has improved in recent months. Overall I'm very satisfied!

Care has improved due to regular staff on the floor.
He runs out of medication regularly which we have to keep chasing.
Some carers are very good and do genuinely care.
Other carers' attitudes could be improved.
Overall happy except when chasing for medication.

I am happy you now feel reassured that we are now keeping staff on the same floor as much as possible, to enable our residents to build good rapport with our staff. Whilst we constantly carry out medication reviews, some items are not stock piled topical medication but we do liaise with the GP on his visits and will ask that an extra prescription is written to ensure sufficient topical medication available to prevent running out between prescriptions. We are committed to delivering quality care and all staff complete mandatory training and I am pleased you acknowledge that many of our team do a very good job and are genuinely caring. I will share your feedback with the team as I would like you to feel every carer in our home, maintain equally high standards.

The staff are very attentive, kind and caring. The activities provided and the activities coordinator are outstanding. The health care assistants are always kind and take time when helping with personal care/hygiene and treat their clients with immense dignity. I would highly recommend this home. It
has taken a huge burden off my family to know that mum is being cared for at such a high standard.

Angela

Angela Christian

Job Title: Home Manager

I have worked with The Future Care Group for over two years. Initially, as Deputy Manager at Albany Lodge where I enjoyed the challenge of overseeing a large successful team who were dedicated to caring for over 100 residents within the home. Most recently I have been promoted to become the home manager of Acacia Care Centre and look forward to working with the team to achieve overall good in our next inspection report. As a nurse, I know the importance of delivering the very best care possible. I feel it is most important to involve our residents in creating their care plans to enable us to provide the care they want and need.
When I am away from work, I relax by spending time with my family and enjoy reading, cooking and walks.

I have worked with the Future Care Group for 30 years. I started off as a Domestic Assistant and worked my way through to be Head of Housekeeping and now I am the Home’s Administrator. I have enjoyed looking after the home’s cleanliness or assisting in other departments of the Home including Chef duties, taking care of providing nutritious meals for our residents. Over the past two years I have been part of Administration team working as an Administrator and looking after the reception. In my spare time I enjoy playing bingo and spending time with friends and family.

Job Title: Lifestyle Lead

I joined the Acacia Care team in 2014, initially as a healthcare assistant. This role provided valuable insights into the unique needs and individuality of all our residents. In late 2020, I transitioned to the role of a lifestyle assistant, and this year, I am grateful to have assumed the position of Lifestyle Lead.


My inspiration to work with the elderly stems from a close relationship with my grandmother, and my passion for the well-being of others has been ingrained in me since childhood. I take pleasure in spending time with residents, engaging in conversations, and learning more about their lives. Discovering their interests, hobbies, and needs enables me to plan a diverse and engaging daily activities schedule. This approach ensures residents remain actively involved in social and uplifting activities.


While devising new ideas can be challenging, the reward comes when these ideas come together. Bringing a smile to a resident's face is something I cherish and find immensely gratifying.

Job Title: Maintenance Manager

I have over 20 years’ experience of working in maintenance engineering. Throughout my career I developed a wide range of skills in plumbing, electrical, locksmith, painting and general building maintenance. We have a great team here, at Acacia Care Centre. I particularly enjoy liaising with residents and their relatives which enables me to make repairs in a timely manner and keep our residents comfortable.
Outside of my work life I like spending time with my family and skydiving.

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping

I have worked with the Future Care Group for 15 years, initially as a member of the housekeeping team. My extensive housekeeping experience enabled me to progress to the Head of Housekeeping role. My priority is to keep the home clean and hygienic to high standard with assistance of hard-working team of housekeepers. I enjoy daily interactions with our residents and their families which makes my work worthwhile. In my free time I love spending time with my grandchildren. I also like playing bingo and going away for breaks.
