Werrington Lodge Care Home offers both residential and nursing care in a picturesque village setting, just ten minutes from Peterborough city centre.

The home provides expert dementia care within their Memory Lane community, and provides 24 hour care to all residents. Werrington Lodge also boasts an in-house hairdressing salon, two lounges, beautiful gardens and an elegantly decorated dining room in which residents enjoy fine dining experiences.

Each resident receives their own carefully tailored care plan to ensure their personal preferences and needs are being met. The full time activities team organise a range of daily activities for the residents to enjoy including, arts and crafts, performances from entertainers, live music, outings in the minibus to local attractions as well as themed events.

The home has a strong focus on engaging with the local community and building strong links with a variety of venues, clubs and organisations. Residents enjoy heading out regularly to the local pub 'The Blue Bell', Rev Susan Fear from Werrington Parish Church visits every month providing Holy Communion, a local 'Pets As Therapy' dog Blossom visits bi-weekly.

Werrington Lodge have looked after Mum for the last 20 months and all the family have nothing but praise for the way she is cared for. All the staff are so caring she has a very good quality of life now. She has been very poorly over the last few weeks but the care she has received is 2nd to none. We
could not have chosen a better care home for her. I have to repeat that all staff nurses/carers/kitchen/housekeeping and admin are friendly, caring and nothing is too much trouble.

My sister came in for respite care with a view of coming permanently as she has terminal cancer. Everything was lovely. However, the only thing was that she was in nursing and she and we felt that she wasn't ready for nursing yet. There was no one she could talk to as most of the residents were in bed
and my sister likes company and a chat. The staff and management couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you.

My Sister in law is very happy here, and the staff are very caring and attentive. She is a different person since she came here - much healthier and bubbly. She enjoys our visits, and in particular she enjoys a cup of tea and a biscuit in the reception area. It's good to see her laughing again.

Mum has been here for about six months. Her care has been excellent. Everyone has been so caring and lovely. Some carers have been absolutely amazing and gone overboard regarding Mum's care. Apart from a couple of tiny issues that were dealt with immediately. We, as a family, are happy with her care.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I am kept informed in every aspect of Mum's care. Highly recommend Werrington Lodge.

The general manager is proving to be very good - approachable, considerate and since being appointed, morale has improved greatly among staff.
Activities have been a source of concern in the past but with the new activities coordinator appointed, these have and continue to improve.

The overall treatment of residents/patients is satisfactory, but co-ordination of departments and functions is disjointed, and internal and external communication is of a poor standard! While nursing and catering plus cleaning are of a good standard, the home is let down in the personal care of patients,
both physical and mental. In respect of activities, these are at best variable in respect of provision and content and sometimes simply non-existent! These problems are down to management! As the saying goes 'problems on a ship, look at the captain!'

On the whole, you provide an excellent service. The staff are always friendly and taking care of our dear friend. However, I am concerned about the toilets you provide for visitors. I am a wheelchair user/disabled person and I found it very difficult to get into your toilet and close the door behind
me. Then there were no rails to assist in using the toilet. They had difficulties opening the door again to get out as my wheelchair blocked the way. This is a legal requirement, and I suggest someone look at the problem.

The care staff are very pleasant, friendly and hard-working. There have been a few teething problems at times but most of the family are very happy with the care my father-in-law is getting. He seems happy and relaxed when the staff come in. His meals always look appetising and now he seems to be involved
in some activities which was not happening at the beginning. Very nice care home.

Generally, all is very good. Care staff and nurses very good. Food - the meat is overcooked and dry, but the crumbles and sponges are very good. Fish is ok, but sauces should be on the side. Rooms are quite dark, but very clean. Residents' tables should be cleaned after each meal.

Kind staff with a sense of community walking in. Personal care could be better - on our visit, Dad had food left around his mouth.
Dad has regular visits but he does not sit out or leave his room often - this saddens us. Selecting age-appropriate TV programmes would be helpful to improve the quality
of life. We visited and found an animation film on instead of other channels which were more suitable. Or play Dad's favourite songs. We are grateful for the care Dad receives overall.

Hi there my name is Nancy, I am the General Manager here at Werrington Lodge. I look forward to welcoming you into our home.


My name is Nancy Simeon, and I have 26 years of experience working as a nurse. I relocated to the UK in 2003 and completed my nurse adaptation course at a care home in London. Since transitioning as an overseas nurse and receiving my NMC pin number, I have never looked back and have worked exclusively within the care home sector.


I have worked as a registered nurse in both nursing and dementia care homes. Additionally, I have experience working as a deputy manager in a residential care home. Over the past seven years, I have worked in a multi-site care home as the clinical lead and deputy manager. I am passionate about the care we can offer to our elderly population.


It has been an amazing journey meeting new people from all over the world and working with a dedicated and supportive team from Werrington Lodge to create memories and a loving warm and friendly atmosphere


My priority is to ensure the well-being and expectations of our residents and their families are met at Werrington Lodge and to promote growth and development within our Werrington Lodge team.
