Werrington Lodge Care Home offers both residential and nursing care in a picturesque village setting, just ten minutes from Peterborough city centre.

The home provides expert dementia care within their Memory Lane community, and provides 24 hour care to all residents. Werrington Lodge also boasts an in-house hairdressing salon, two lounges, beautiful gardens and an elegantly decorated dining room in which residents enjoy fine dining experiences.

Each resident receives their own carefully tailored care plan to ensure their personal preferences and needs are being met. The full time activities team organise a range of daily activities for the residents to enjoy including, arts and crafts, performances from entertainers, live music, outings in the minibus to local attractions as well as themed events.

The home has a strong focus on engaging with the local community and building strong links with a variety of venues, clubs and organisations. Residents enjoy heading out regularly to the local pub 'The Blue Bell', Rev Susan Fear from Werrington Parish Church visits every month providing Holy Communion, a local 'Pets As Therapy' dog Blossom visits bi-weekly.

Since my father arrived in Barchester Werrington Lodge Care Home on Wednesday 4th October 2023, it seems evident that caring for residents is a high priority. Not only there to care but also to assist in medical needs, fetch and carry food and drinks etc. There is a good amount of respect and compassion
which is good as there was none of this in my father's last visit in hospital before this visit to Werrington Lodge.

Dad arrived to a warm welcome, lovely room, really homely. Staff are very happy, Dad always smiles at them, even though sometimes not at us. One family member visits Dad each day and he seems well cared for.

Dad was made very welcome for his respite care, he enjoyed the food, he took part in a few activities and was encouraged to go along.


The staff are very caring and understanding to his needs.

My dad moved into Werrington Lodge, in early June. There were a few teething problems, that were quickly sorted when speaking to staff.
I'm not sure if they have different types of rooms throughout the Lodge, but the room my dad is in, is not as fresh/modern as the some of the images shown online
or the showroom. His room and bathroom could definitely do with a bit of a refurbishment to freshen/brighten it up a little bit.
Near enough all of the staff, from reception, carers, nurses, housekeeping and management and others that we have interacted with, have been courteous, caring and just all round great people. There are a select few staff who really do go above and beyond and we are more than grateful of their hard work, support and care.
My dad doesn't like to participate in activities, but it was great to see what they do to keep the residents busy.
Again, we are only grateful for the help and support offered by all here!

The management team has been extremely supportive in helping me to secure the best care for my father. Communications regarding residents, particularly any medical updates, are very good.
There is a friendly atmosphere at Werrington Lodge and staff respond quickly to any needs or concerns voiced by
family members on behalf of residents.
My father’s daily life is restricted by the fact that he is bedridden with failing eyesight and hearing. In addition, he has difficulty swallowing most solid food. As a result, he cannot really benefit from the activities and menus provided. This is a pity since they seem to be good.
Care staff ensure that he is clean and comfortable and that he does have some nutrition at each mealtime. There are some exceptionally kind staff in post.

We are extremely grateful for the excellent nursing care, personal care and overall attention Mum has received since staying at Werrington Lodge. We are also very impressed with the kindness, sensitivity and professionalism shown by all members of staff, not just to Mum but to family members also. Mum
has settled into her new surroundings very well and we feel she is as comfortable and happy as she can be. Mum particularly enjoys being involved in the various weekly activities carried out both within and outside the home. She has made some friends in a short period of time, which is comforting for her and the family. Thanks so much to all concerned for your hard work and dedication.

My wife has been at Werrington Lodge Care Home for about 6 weeks, she has generally settled. A visitor, other than myself said the home has a very nice quiet atmosphere and I absolutely agree.

My grandad was 100 years old this week and the staff at the care home were so accommodating in making his day special.
There were lots of family visiting my grandad and they cleared the dining area for us and provided balloons and nibbles.
The staff are always so friendly and my grandad has settled
in well.

My husband has advanced dementia, and following his discharge from the hospital, after a second stay, he was discharged to Werrington Lodge. It had been a very traumatic time for both my husband and myself. The staff treated me with great care, and the care plan meeting with the unit manager was excellent.
Very clear and sensitive.

After a very bad experience with my mother's last care home, since moving into Werrington Lodge Care Home, it has been wonderful and heartwarming to see Mum so happy and content. It is such a friendly, caring home, and we are always made to feel so welcome and happy on visiting Mum. A lovely home run

Very happy with the home. Mum has been there for over four years now and is looked after well. The food that is given looks lovely, but Mum is very poor at eating and is incapable to eat sometimes and needs a soft diet. Her carers for washing her are good, but they seem to forget to clean her fingernails
- they are black. Mum is happy overall, and that's the main thing.

Availability to attend Werrington Lodge during office hours was excellent. Being retired and married 64 years meant early 9:45 am visits to see my poorly wife. I was pleased to observe staff work diligently, friendly, skillfully and with a pleasant attitude. Food times adhered to, hot variable meals
in pleasant restaurant surroundings. Difficult patients were handled professionally. The NHS aftercare has also been exceptional since 29th September 2022 departure.

My mother did well during her 11-day respite stay. This was her first time at Werrington Lodge, but she settled in nicely. The staff were very good, and she seemed to get on well with them. There were no issues at all.

Hi there my name is Nancy, I am the General Manager here at Werrington Lodge. I look forward to welcoming you into our home.


My name is Nancy Simeon, and I have 26 years of experience working as a nurse. I relocated to the UK in 2003 and completed my nurse adaptation course at a care home in London. Since transitioning as an overseas nurse and receiving my NMC pin number, I have never looked back and have worked exclusively within the care home sector.


I have worked as a registered nurse in both nursing and dementia care homes. Additionally, I have experience working as a deputy manager in a residential care home. Over the past seven years, I have worked in a multi-site care home as the clinical lead and deputy manager. I am passionate about the care we can offer to our elderly population.


It has been an amazing journey meeting new people from all over the world and working with a dedicated and supportive team from Werrington Lodge to create memories and a loving warm and friendly atmosphere


My priority is to ensure the well-being and expectations of our residents and their families are met at Werrington Lodge and to promote growth and development within our Werrington Lodge team.

My name is Sharon and I am the Head Chef here at Werrington Lodge. I have worked at the home since 2011 and pride myself on preparing high quality food and seeing our residents enjoy the dishes that the team and myself create makes me very happy!


Our Hospitality team here at Werrington Lodge is committed to providing seasonal home cooked menus offering choice, nutrition and quality - including exciting menus to specific individual dietary needs and all appetites. The food we produce is hugely important to our residents which is why it is absolutely imperative that we always get their feedback and continuously meet the needs and nutritional quota of every single resident who chooses to make Werrington Lodge their home.

I have been working here since 2020 and I could say that I grew a lot personally and professionally since being part of this team.


Working in this environment I realised that I could make a huge difference in people's lives, especially our residents and their families who rely on us to look after their loved ones. Along with being professional and skilled, I consider that kindness and compassion are the key to ensuring the well-being of our residents and this is what made me enjoy doing my job because it comes very naturally to me.


As every person is different I am there to ensure that our residents get the care that they need and they feel comfortable to express their preferences. Person-centred care is a key to living happy and secure even in the latest stage of life and together with my working team our goal is to provide that.
