Foxbridge House in Orpington, Kent, is a purpose-built home offering nursing, respite and residential care, as well as specialist dementia care.

The bright and spacious home has been designed to create a lively, family atmosphere. Residents can enjoy a wealth of luxury features, including a hair and nail salon, a retro-themed cinema and a coffee shop perfect for socialising. All of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities, a TV and a 24-hour nurse call system.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are the cornerstones of daily life at Foxbridge House. The team places importance on protecting residents' meal-times as good nutrition and hydration are key to staying well. Family members are very welcome to 'book-in' and join their loved one for a meal.

A very, clean beautiful residential home. My aunt felt she was on holiday in a hotel. Staff all so caring. It's always a worry leaving someone you love in the hands of strangers but Foxbridge House gave such peace of mind.

I think Foxbridge is fabulous. The difference in my uncle in the 18 months he has been here is amazing. At home he was quiet, sad and generally asleep, here he is his happy, noisy, well fed self. His recent bout of ill health was dealt with super efficiently and I have no doubt the staff here kept
him from a trip to hospital. Everyone talks to him, cares about him and treats him lovingly. I was very against 'putting him in a home' but for him it has been the best decision we have made for a long time. Well done all the staff at Foxbridge.

I have nothing but praise for everyone working in Foxbridge House. The care given to my mother for the 2 short months she was there was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. The decor of the place was more like a hotel really clean airy and well equipped. All the residents always seemed happy
and contented and there was always a good choice of food in the restaurant. Carers always helped and encouraged if residents were not wanting to eat and respect was always shown and nursing care was always done in a dignified manner. Mum always used to say she was a loner but quickly joined in with any of the activities she was able to do and she always had a smile for everyone. Foxbridge has restored my faith in what a care home should be and I was always happy to spend time there with mum. It really did become a home from home

I visit my 92 year old friend at least once a week. Every time I go she complains about the food- the choice- the quality and presentation. I take her in soups which the staff make for her! On Saturday she was given three sandwiches for tea- no garnish. When she asked for a fourth one she was told not
enough had been made! No energy is put into getting residents into the dining room- I'm told that many residents have their food in their rooms. She is not receiving any intellectual stimulation and chooses to spend all day in her room. Little apparent leaders.

We are sorry to hear that your experience of the food at Foxbridge has fallen short of expectations. This comes as quite a surprise as our head chef at Foxbridge was recently recognised as one of the best in the country in our Chef of the year competition, and he regularly receives very positive feedback from both our residents and their visiting friends and relatives. Our hope is that the experience you mentioned is an anomaly, but having said that, our hospitality team will now visit the home to audit the food offering and ensure it meets our high standards. We do encourage all of our residents to engage in social activities in the home – both around mealtimes and in terms of the very full activities schedule on offer. However, our first priority is always the personal wishes of our residents and if your friend’s choice is for in-room dining, then we will always cater to this preference. If you do have any further concerns about the care your friend is receiving, we would encourage you to pick these up with the home manager directly as she will be in a much better position to discuss the specifics of the situation. Thank you though for taking the time to review the home - we are always interested in feedback which can help us improve the service we provide.

My mother arrived at Foxbridge in October 2013, after a very distressing time in and out of hospital with double pneumonia. She seemed to rally initially with the wonderful care she received at Foxbridge, but sadly in December 2013 she suffered a severe stroke which was a game changer! over night she
lost the ability to speak coherently and the stroke exacerbated her confusion. She had vascular dementia. Our lovely lady as we called her had changed forever. The care staff at Foxbridge could not have done more to make mums stay as comfortable and safe as possible. Their dedication and tenderness to mum and their empathy with my sister and I was impeccable. Mum had good days and bad, despite her deteriorating condition. The carers were always loving and cheerful. The entertainment manager was fantastic and as I lived in South Africa, went the extra mile to Skype regularly so I could see mum. When she sadly passed away in October 2015, we were devastated. But the staff were fantastic right until the very end!. They gave mum dignity in life and death. I will never have enough words to praise them.

My mother has been in this care home from the beginning. She is very happy and contented. Always clean and tidy. She enjoys all activities and outings and the activity staff are great. Really like they have hostesses to encourage them to sit at the table and eat with others.
The only downside is the
constant turnover of staff. It would be great if this could be looked at - reasons why they leave!

My mum has been in this home since Nov 2013 and is treated with care and dignity even when she is uncooperative or aggressive. The carers are brilliant with mum and one of them went with mum to her appointment at the hospital - I was going to take mum on my own but the carers advised me to have help
- I definitely couldn't have managed on my own. The carer was with us from 1.30pm until about 7pm when we got back to the home. Mum was very difficult and aggressive but having the support helped me a lot. My mum is getting more difficult but all the staff are caring and understand and know how to help mum.
I feel very privileged that mum is living in this home and both mum and I are very well looked after.

I have been at Foxbridge for many months and very satisfied by conditions here. Arriving here with my wife who left us for a better place where we will all arrive at in due course. My wife was also very happy whilst here. I might add that our eight children all believe that we chose well when we came

Job Title: Home Manager

There are many different aspects of my role as Home Manager at Foxbridge House, but one of my favourites is the opportunity to meet and get to know residents and their families. It’s a huge privilege.


Every person we care for is at the heart of their care: they make decisions about how they want to be cared for, how they want to spend their day and live their life, and we support them to make that happen.


Central to achieving that is having a superb team. We have great people at Foxbridge House who are determined to do their best for residents, relatives and for each other. I’m here to support them to succeed, and Care UK supports me to succeed as well.


While this job is high-pressured and there’s a lot to juggle, the feeling at the end of the day of knowing that you’ve done the best job you can is second to none.
