Dad went to live at Ivy House last December when his dementia had progressed to a level where he was no longer safe at home. He had been going to Ivy House in Littleover for day care for approx 18 months so I already knew the Manager and knew how enthusiastic she was about making sure the residents
felt they were at home. The care at Ivy House is excellent. Dad is happier and his health has improved since he started living there. The staff are patient, caring and friendly. Dad's care plan is reviewed regularly and any alterations for his care are discussed with me first. The food is good and Dad often has seconds and is very fond of biscuits!

Ivy house is now dad's home and one of the staff said recently they couldn't imagine him not being there. I feel I have a new family as well. It was one of the most difficult decisions I ever had to make when dad went into a home but I really believe I picked one of the best homes in Derby.
