Abbeycliffe is a family run business with over 40 years' experience in the caring profession. It is rated by the CQC as 'GOOD' (February 2023) and is registered for up to 40 residents.

Abbeycliffe has a team of fully trained staff to provide excellent standards of care to the elderly, 24 hours a day. They are on hand to ensure that the specific needs of each resident are met and that they are always treated with respect, dignity and compassion. As part of the service, the team assists with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, toileting, laundry, medication, activities and provide nutritional meals.

All bedrooms have an en-suite and are fitted with a nurse call system. Residents are free to relax within the communal areas of the home. This includes the elegantly furnished lounge, a private lodge, an on-site hair salon, a large dining room and a bright and airy conservatory overlooking the beautiful garden.

Abbeycliffe will continue to strive for excellence in care and ensure that they always provide uncompromising comfort and a sense of well-being for residents.

Residents often seem bored and sit all day with little interaction between meals. Mums clothes are often mixed with others. Excellent managers and staff, modern facilities and clean rooms. Staff seem to really care - more than a job to some.

Fiona has dedicated her career to the care profession and has over 15 years of experience. She started off her career working for Salford Royal Hospital and was soon promoted to the Ward Sister. When Fiona opened Abbeycliffe in 2013 as the Registered Manager, she used her experience to transform the home into a friendly, family-run Residential Care Home that has since gained an excellent reputation. When the home became fully established, she appointed Hayley as the Registered Manager and pursued her new role as the Senior Manager. Fiona's responsibilities include auditing, HR, recruitment and ensuring compliance with laws and legislation (policies and procedures), etc.

Hayley has dedicated her career to the care profession and has over 30 years of experience in the industry.


She came to Abbeycliffe as Deputy Manager in 2014 and was soon promoted to Registered Manager. Hayley has become a highly valued member of the company and has continued to achieve high standards for the home.


She is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations within the home, including managing staff, promoting residents’ rights, ensuring the quality of service meets national care standards, and providing information, advice and support to residents, families and staff, etc.

After achieving a bachelor's degree in Commercial Management, and working part-time as a Care Assistant, Sonia joined the family business in 2018. As the Business Manager, Sonia is responsible for managing company budgets, forecasts, home improvements, procurement, and dealing with all other business matters. Sonia is also our Activities Co-ordinator and is now responsible for all upcoming activities and events.
