Very busy care home, always full, sometimes carers slow to meet patients' needs (ie, toilet and time to chat). Room pretty basic for patients, call it an ensuite but no shower in there.

Himley Manor Care Home has a warm and caring atmosphere. My mom is cared for very well and is happy. Staff are brilliant and very attentive, they do their best for all the residents. I am happy with the activities offered to my mom.
I always feel comfortable when I leave my mom because I know she
is receiving excellent care.

Very happy with how the home is fun. Always a friendly welcome when we visit. No unpleasant smells! The staff are friendly and police. The home is kept lovely and clean. Mom's room is well-kept.
Staff are attentive to Mom's care needs and we have no issues with the care and support she receives.
If
we have any concerns/issues there is always a staff member to speak with and our concerns are normally dealt with promptly. Overall Himley Manor is a good home with good staff.

Mom was a resident of Mimley Manor for 12 months prior to her unexpected death in April. As a retired nurse, I found the staff to be very professional. All of them treated Mom with compassion and kindness. She was very happy living there. Having to ring me in the middle of the night to inform me of
Mom's passing could not have been. Easy for the staff, but they were so kind.

Warm, friendly so kind to my lovely Mom and also to myself, sympathetic to my Mom's needs and myself. Making sure they do their utmost to give Mom her needs as she's frightened and gets worried, they make sure she's happy by doing their best to do what helps my lovely Mom and myself. My mom was a resident throughout March. The care she received was very good. Mom can be very difficult at times and I admire the patience that the staff had with her. Overall, all the staff were very attentive and understanding throughout my mom's stay.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble. The Christmas part was not up to standard to be fair - sorry.
Have no other issues and am very happy with the care standards given.

My father is at end-of-life so it's been very upsetting but the staff have been great.
He is still being looked after and they are making him as comfy as possible in his final days.

Although staff were (and always are) very busy, they helped us surprise Mum on her birthday by letting our family gather in a room and bringing Mum in to us. Everywhere is always clean.
The staff always seem fond of all the residents, showing them care and consideration.
Mum feels that the staff
are her friends, she calls them her friends. The carers are very professional from carers, office staff, domestics, laundry and kitchen staff - all have been welcoming and friendly which is what we wanted for Mum.

I came to Himley Manor with many problems but have found this care home to be the right place for me where I have been mentally, spiritually, and physically restored and renewed. The staff in particular have shown much care and concern for my wellbeing and care.
The coordinator leads a most efficient
team. I have gone home and have appreciated the freedom and ease which has been afforded me. I shall certainly recommend this home to other needy people.

All the carers are so nice and lovely to the elderly people in the home. They are always helpful when you ask them a question or if you need anything. They will go out of their way to help you. My mom says they are so nice to her, which puts my mind to rest that she is being well looked after. I will

Mom came to Himley Manor Care Home in January 2023 from the hospital needing 24hr care for advanced dementia and heart failure. The home is modern, light and spacious. Staff and management are friendly, helpful and have accommodated Mom's needs. They have changed especially with her diet, and food is
cooked fresh on-site. I am happy with the care Mom is receiving, having her hair and feet done and especially how the staff acted when Mom became very unwell. She loves the entertainment days and seems happy. Bedroom furniture is a little dated but fit for purpose, containing everything needed. I was able to take in a few soft furnishings to make Mom's room a little more homely. I was impressed that all the clothes taken on admittance are laundered by the home. It is clean, tidy and well equipped. The gardens are lovely. It would be nice to see a few sensory plants/lights to encourage partially sighted residents and those with dementia to enjoy being outside.

My mum came to Himley Manor Care Home on the second of February 2023 from hospital. She fitted in nicely and was happy and improved in herself since then.
She is in hospital at present and hope she can return. The home is modern, light, spacious. It is a purpose-built care home which I like because
it is built for their needs with spacious corridors for wheelchairs and also for them to walk around if they can. Staff are very friendly and willing to help both residents and family. I have always been offered a cup of tea and cake if they are being served. I have only witnessed cakes not been around for meals. However, I am told my mum eats very well. Activities again I have not really seen(apart from singing which is good). However, I have spoken many times to the activities staff member, who is a very nice lady. They also have a good-sized garden to enjoy, however joining the home in February have not seen it at its best. All in all, I would definitely recommend.

My grandma spent seven months at Himley Manor Care Home and I could not say a bad word about the home. The staff were excellent and the standard of care was very good. My grandma was happy throughout her time there and I couldn't have asked for anything more. We are so grateful to everybody who looked

There seems to be an acceptance that my mother should stay in her bed (Christmas 2022). Why can't she be encouraged to get out of bed and be able to walk a little? Surely a little exercise to would be helpful to her well-being.
This week we were told that we would have to pay £15 to have her toenails
cut. We have refused to pay this as I cut her toes nails!

Thank you for your feedback and the concerns raised. Residents do have the choice to remain in bed or either get up with encouragement provided. We do have a policy where we leave and return. We have been sitting Mom out in the chair but are only able to remain out so long to prevent skin breakdown.
With regards to the charge of £15.00 is this payment directly to the chiropodist who provides a service within the home, but we will look into this for you.

Tracey Pearson

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2020

I began working in the care sector in 1997. Whilst working in my first care home I also worked in the area's local hospitals and gained a wealth of knowledge and experience.


During my career, I completed my Registered Manager Award in 2010 and gained degrees in Leadership & Management Level 5 and Strategic Management Level 7.


In 2009 I took my first Registered Managers position and have worked in a number of dementia care homes since.


I came to Himley Manor in November 2020. I am extremely proud to be the Manager of Himley Manor Care Home and also its hard-working staff team. I firmly believe that to work in care you have to CARE, it is a passion not just a job and I look for this in potential new staff during recruitment.


I am responsible for the operational running of the home. This covers all aspects of care delivery including managing the team of staff within the home to uphold standards and most importantly ensure our resident's care needs are met.


My favourite aspect of my job role is getting to chat with the residents and seeing them smiling daily.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

I began my career in care in 2013 working as a part-time care assistant in a nursing home. I spent the next 9 years improving my skills and knowledge and gaining experience and was promoted to Senior Carer and Care Administrator. In this role, I was responsible for creating and maintaining care plans, risk assessments, auditing and reviews of residents' needs as well as the training, induction and mentoring of staff.


I worked as a deputy manager in a residential home for a year before coming to Himley Manor in February 2024. I assist the Registered Manager Tracey with the day-to-day running of the home, providing support to staff to ensure the care and services provided are of a high standard and enabling us to meet required regulations.


I have completed my NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and achieved a Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care in 2018. My next step is to complete my Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management to build on the care and management skills I have already. I have extensive training in a range of different aspects of health and social care, including a Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Dementia.


Himley Manor is a friendly home full of caring and hardworking staff who put residents first and go above and beyond to meet their needs. My favourite part of working at Himley Manor is seeing the residents being well looked after and the joy the staff get from caring for and interacting with them.

I started working at Himley Manor in May 2024. My job involves giving medication to residents, manging staff and making sure residents stay happy and healthy. My mom has been a resident at Himley Manor since January 2021. She is very well cared for by all of the staff who are kind and friendly and work to a high standard. The home is well maintained, always clean and tidy and you are always made to feel welcome.


I started volunteering 18 months ago, as I wanted to give something back to the care home for taking care of my mom. I help with activities, organise fund-raising raffles and competitions and help with the Summer and Christmas Fetes. This allows us to provide entertainment for the residents - they love a sing and dance!! It is a pleasure to talk to the residents and have a chat with all the staff.

I started working at Himley Manor in April 2023 and was employed as maintenance. I enjoy keeping the home safe and tidy and I'm always busy doing odd jobs to make sure everything is as it should be. I complete PAT testing on all electrical equipment, make sure the gardens and carparks are kept tidy and do general everyday maintenance around the home. I am responsible for painting and decorating the home to keep it looking fresh and welcoming. I am also trained in Fire Safety.


I enjoy working at Himley Manor and interacting with the residents every day. I like to know that I am doing my job to make the home a safe place for everyone.

I am the head cook and I have worked at Himley Manor since 2018. I am responsible for running the kitchen, managing staff and making sure standards are kept high. We proudly hold 5 stars following a recent inspection from Environmental Health. I enjoy working in the kitchen and making sure the residents are having food they enjoy including homemade puddings and snacks!
