My mother has been at this care home for 5 years. She has always felt safe. Some problems did exist at this time. Staff not staying, high turnover does not help with resident's wellbeing. Cleanliness slipped. Wrong residents allowed to stay. Since the change of manager have noticed a great improvement.
Easy to communicate with. Very understanding problems that arise are rectified. I know my mother is cared for.

During the year my sister, who has dementia, was taken into hospital from the above home. When she returned weeks later, she looked awful. We were not happy with any treatment in the hospital, but with a lot of TLC by the manager and staff, she pulled round and within 3 weeks had gained weight and looked
her normal self. She now has 24-hour care and we are grateful to Himley Manor Care Home.

I am very happy with the care my mom is getting.
She is being treated very well. The staff are very good to my mom even though she can be difficult at times. They understand her needs very well. The home is always clean and the food good. The new manageress is always available to listen if I need to
ask anything, which I find really nice and helpful.

2018 was a difficult year at Himley Manor. Lots of staff changes, some staying only a day or two, lots of upsets between management and staff and relatives.
New manager came in early 2019. We now have a stable staff team, same faces, same voices.
Himley Manor is now a much better environment for residents
and visitors.

In my experience, the home has got better and better as the months have gone one, since Christmas, I have seen a change for the better in the homes' cleanliness and the help the residents get. My mother-in-law has felt happier too and she has said so to me, she feels safer now.

Tracey Pearson

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2020

I began working in the care sector in 1997. Whilst working in my first care home I also worked in the area's local hospitals and gained a wealth of knowledge and experience.


During my career, I completed my Registered Manager Award in 2010 and gained degrees in Leadership & Management Level 5 and Strategic Management Level 7.


In 2009 I took my first Registered Managers position and have worked in a number of dementia care homes since.


I came to Himley Manor in November 2020. I am extremely proud to be the Manager of Himley Manor Care Home and also its hard-working staff team. I firmly believe that to work in care you have to CARE, it is a passion not just a job and I look for this in potential new staff during recruitment.


I am responsible for the operational running of the home. This covers all aspects of care delivery including managing the team of staff within the home to uphold standards and most importantly ensure our resident's care needs are met.


My favourite aspect of my job role is getting to chat with the residents and seeing them smiling daily.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

I began my career in care in 2013 working as a part-time care assistant in a nursing home. I spent the next 9 years improving my skills and knowledge and gaining experience and was promoted to Senior Carer and Care Administrator. In this role, I was responsible for creating and maintaining care plans, risk assessments, auditing and reviews of residents' needs as well as the training, induction and mentoring of staff.


I worked as a deputy manager in a residential home for a year before coming to Himley Manor in February 2024. I assist the Registered Manager Tracey with the day-to-day running of the home, providing support to staff to ensure the care and services provided are of a high standard and enabling us to meet required regulations.


I have completed my NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care and achieved a Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care in 2018. My next step is to complete my Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management to build on the care and management skills I have already. I have extensive training in a range of different aspects of health and social care, including a Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Dementia.


Himley Manor is a friendly home full of caring and hardworking staff who put residents first and go above and beyond to meet their needs. My favourite part of working at Himley Manor is seeing the residents being well looked after and the joy the staff get from caring for and interacting with them.

Jade Handley

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant

Joined: 2024

I started working at Himley Manor in May 2024. My job involves giving medication to residents, manging staff and making sure residents stay happy and healthy. I have worked in care for many years since I left school. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and have many other qualifications relevant to my role.

Job Title: Family Representative

My mom has been a resident at Himley Manor since January 2021. She is very well cared for by all of the staff who are kind and friendly and work to a high standard. The home is well maintained, always clean and tidy and you are always made to feel welcome.


I started volunteering 18 months ago, as I wanted to give something back to the care home for taking care of my mom. I help with activities, organise fund-raising raffles and competitions and help with the Summer and Christmas Fetes. This allows us to provide entertainment for the residents - they love a sing and dance!! It is a pleasure to talk to the residents and have a chat with all the staff.

Job Title: Maintenance

Joined: 2023

I started working at Himley Manor in April 2023 and was employed as maintenance. I enjoy keeping the home safe and tidy and I'm always busy doing odd jobs to make sure everything is as it should be. I complete PAT testing on all electrical equipment, make sure the gardens and carparks are kept tidy and do general everyday maintenance around the home. I am responsible for painting and decorating the home to keep it looking fresh and welcoming. I am also trained in Fire Safety.


I enjoy working at Himley Manor and interacting with the residents every day. I like to know that I am doing my job to make the home a safe place for everyone.

Job Title: Head Cook

Joined: 2018

I am the head cook and I have worked at Himley Manor since 2018. I am responsible for running the kitchen, managing staff and making sure standards are kept high. We proudly hold 5 stars following a recent inspection from Environmental Health. I enjoy working in the kitchen and making sure the residents are having food they enjoy including homemade puddings and snacks! I have worked in the care industry since 1993 and been working in catering since the age of 14. My favourite part of the job is seeing the residents enjoying their meals.
