The Chestnut Lodge Care Home is a 60-bed residential care home, which supports those living with dementia. The home opened in 2013 and has recently had a refurbishment.
Many residents are living with a diagnosis of dementia and the team at Chestnut Lodge support their residents to be as active and independent as they can be. There is a large communal area that offers a pub, a café and an activities area. There is a designate activities team that encourages residents to continue with their hobbies and interest such as exercise, singing and flower arranging.
There is an onsite hairdresser where the residents can visit and enjoy some pampering. The home also offers quiet corners where residents can read a book or take a nap.
All food is freshly prepared at the home and there is a chef that ensure that individual dietary need is met. Residents enjoy afternoon tea and a natter in the café.

My dad has been a resident at The Chestnut Lodge, Tonbridge for over 4 years. During that time I visit often at irregular intervals and have always found Dad to be well looked after and the staff to be kind and friendly. Today, my mother and I attended a Christmas meal put on for us by the staff for
the residents and their families. The room was beautifully decorated, down to tiny details, the meal was well prepared and the attention paid to us by the staff was exemplary. Overall, the Christmas meal was, in my experience, totally consistent with how Chestnut Lodge functions, the work and attitude of the staff and the level of care and communication I have witnessed. I would recommend Chestnut Lodge to anyone needing care for a loved one.

Love this place, especially the very friendly and caring staff. It's so reassuring that the health and well being of my aunt and mother-in-law in such good hands.
There's also always great communication from the staff - keeping me informed and up to date.
My aunt is very happy and comfortable enough
to call it her home. Since she's been at The Chestnut Lodge, she has gained her confidence. My mother-in-law has late-stage dementia but is settled and her needs are met.

At a very distressing time, the team at Chestnut Lodge couldn't have been kinder to my mother and to myself. The carers worked hard at making my mother as comfortable as she could possibly be. The whole team, from reception who were cheery and welcoming, to the hardworking care team, and managers who
were so kind when it was needed. They truly put the caring into their care home.

Mum is comfortable and well looked after. home is clean and well-run, the room is clean and tidy, she likes the food she likes the dogs coming in, she has a choice of activities she eats well most of the time.

There is a warm welcome to new residents at Chestnut Lodge and my mum settled in quickly. The management staff are exceptional, so friendly and helpful, and make things so much easier for relatives at a difficult time. The care staff are friendly, supportive and genuine in the care they provide to the
residents. The home is a well adapted building providing good access on all levels, and the bedrooms are clean, fresh and airy with en-suites. Above all, the care provided here is excellent, delivered in a compassionate and authentic way. There are lots of smiles that greet you from the manager and receptionist, to all the care staff on duty. I have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

My husband was very happy there. The carers were lovely so caring and they kept him so clean. He had quite a long beard and they managed to shave it off. He would never let me shave him so I was so pleased as he looked 10 years young. It was a pleasure going to visit him as he always had a smile on
his face. If I ever wanted another respite I would certainly send him to this lovely care home.

I attended a relatives’ meeting recently and was very impressed, the manager spoke from the heart and showed real passion and pride for the care home and the people in it. All of the relatives in the meeting had positive feedback about their loved ones' improvement since being in Chestnut Lodge. I attended
the barbecue after the meeting, the kitchen staff made fab burgers and coleslaw. I watched the interactions between staff and other residents and felt there was really genuine care. The staff interacted and chatted with all residents and paid special attention to everyone’s needs. This care home has a real family feeling, the staff are so caring, kind, and professional. I really feel Dad is being looked after as I would look after him. I would definitely recommend it if you are wondering where would be best for your loved one.
