Mum moved to Glades in September for nursing care.
The nurses and care staff quickly got to know mum and I saw first-hand much of her care as I stayed there almost round the clock for the last 3 weeks of mum's life. The level of professionalism, compassion and efforts to maintain her comfort and dignity at this time and to support us and respect our wishes regarding mum's care were outstanding. As a family, we can't thank the Vida Hall staff enough, from the care providers through to support, admin and management, for looking after mum and which felt like being part of an extended family.

They make it their business to get to know residents well and to respond to individual needs, often going over and above their work remit to ensure this. The compassion and care shown to mum and my stepfather has been outstanding. As a family, we are kept fully informed about their health and well-being, we feel welcomed, supported and upheld, and very much part of the Woodlands family.
We want to mention too, the attention to detail regarding how residents' rooms and public areas are kept spotlessly clean. This is so very important in how Woodlands feels... a home rather than a care home.

Job Title: Home Manager
Joined: 2014
Clare joined Vida Hall in 2014 and has worked in the Elderly Care sector for over ten years in various roles ranging from Senior Carer to Health & Social Care NVQ Assessor. During Clare's time at university, she took a community based route where she was able to source her own placements in primary and community care settings; district nursing, hospice care, palliative care, community matrons to name a few. After qualifying from university as a trained nurse, Clare went on to further train to be a Practice Nurse and earned a triangulated role between Leeds West CCG. Clare spent time overseeing the Nursing houses before becoming the Home Manager of Vida Hall.

Joanne is a Registered Mental Health Nurse who has worked alongside people living with dementia since she was 16.
Joanne started working as a weekend receptionist in a care home and did various roles until she was able to work as a Care Assistant. Joanne worked at Vida Hall whilst completing her nurse training. Once qualified, Joanne worked on a Dementia Care Assessment Ward in Newcastle before returning to Vida Grange as a Nurse.

Akos has worked in health & social care for more than 13 years. He has been a part of the team at Vida Hall since it opened and worked through all levels and areas. Akos started as night care assistant in 2013 and developed his career as team leader, senior team leader, house manager then became deputy manager in 2024.
Akos was awarded the Quality Award for Vida Hall in 2018. He gained qualification as a PIDC coach within the organisation, focusing on restraint reduction in our residents’ care.

Lizzie Joined the team at Vida Hall in 2024 as Operations manager, Lizzie has a background in customer service, hospitality and front of house and nothing is too much trouble. You will see Lizzie around and about during the day as she supports the operations team to make sure everything in the building runs smoothly. Lizzie Is here for the staff, residents and families and loves to get hands-on and get tasks completed.
Job Title: Clinical Development Lead

Terri has over 40 years experience of working as a Nurse in the NHS. During the last 14 years Terri has worked in the role as Community Matron., this involved caring for patients in all settings across the community. Terri has studied at Degree and Masters level, enabling her to both diagnose and prescribe medications within her competency levels. Terri is the Clinical Development Lead across Vida Healthcare and works closely with the Nurses and House Managers.

Helen has worked in healthcare for the past 20 years and joined the Vida family in 2018. Helen is passionate about offering a high standard in choice, variety and quality when planning and executing food menus for the residents of Vida Hall.
Outside of work Helen enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with her family.

Bernadette is an experienced healthcare professional who started her career as a community psychiatric nurse in Glasgow. She boasts more than 25 years of experience in both public and private sector roles. Prior to joining Vida in October 2011, she worked as a regional manager for a large care provider where she was responsible for managing ten homes comprising 450 personnel and 300 beds. Bernadette is the Healthcare Director for Vida Healthcare and oversees both homes.
Job Title: Learning, Development and Quality Manager

Arron is a qualified as Registered Mental Health Nurse and joined Vida Healthcare in 2013. Arron has been a House Manager, and Quality Assurance Manager and has now transitioned into his new role as Learning, Development and Quality Manager. With many years of experience in the care sector, Arron is passionate about the delivery of quality dementia care. Vida’s ethos of care focuses on quality throughout every aspect of our service and Arron’s role involves promoting the highest possible standards. Arron supports the Home Manager and care teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met in the delivery of care.
Job Title: Admissions Coordinator

Gabriella started working at Vida Healthcare in January 2017 as a Care Team Leader. She has over 15 years of experience in the care industry and has achieved her NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care. Since joining Vida, Gabi has also completed a Leadership and Management course. In 2020, Gabi took on the role of Roster Coordinator and in 2024 became Vida Healthcare's Admission Coordinator. Her role involves supporting and guiding families to find the right Vida care home for their loved one living with dementia.
