Salisbury Manor is a luxury care home offering residential, nursing and dementia care. The General Manager leads a friendly team of professionals that provides compassionate care for residents, assisting them to enjoy their lives to the full.

The home was designed around a beautiful Georgian house and grounds, and has recently been renovated. Residents can enjoy an array of luxury facilities including newly refreshed and stylish lounges, a café and hair and beauty salon.

The team of fully qualified nurses and experienced care colleagues oversee the health and wellbeing of each resident with care and support available 24 hours a day. Everything they do focuses on enabling the fullest possible life for residents.

My sister and I have been looking after Mum for a long time and my sister has had Mum live with her for eighteen months - so non-stop 24/7 care for that time. We both felt in need of a holiday so arranged to visit a couple of care homes to book respite care for Mum. We visited Salisbury Manor Care Home
- and the greeting we received was so welcoming! All the staff in the main area spoke with us and they all spoke with Mum - not over her head to us but directly to her! Mum hasn't socialised for a long time and it was lovely to see her interaction with everyone! Mum had a lot of family visitors and they all said the same thing after their visit with her - she was very happy and talkative - which was wonderful to hear and made our holiday all the more special. They were appreciative of the cakes and savouries along with the tea and coffee. We would certainly have Mum stay at Salisbury Manor Care Home again and will take Mum to the Friendship Cafe held every month to keep in touch!

Accepted my Mother who had a stroke plus dementia at very short notice. her previous care home was failing to provide adequate care. The whole admission procedure was performed efficiently and with empathy. Once at Salisbury Manor my mother has thrived rather than being confined to bed, all aspects
of her care are excellent and provided by an incredible team. Thank you with all of my heart.

Every member of staff has made this journey for my father, friends and family so much easier to bear. Efficient, friendly, empathetic, considerate, kind, professional and nothing too much trouble. A first-rate care home. The carers are welcoming and warm and seem to be having very good training in their roles. Important to have a manager that is seen and present and that is the case in Salisbury Manor. I feel very confident leaving my Mother in their care.

My mum has advanced Alzheimer's disease and has been in Salisbury Manor for over six years. They look after her so well and have always been supportive of the family. Incontinent for six years and has not had a pressure sore in all that time. The home is a lovely building, and the carers are fantastic.

My friend has her relative at the home and I recently visited her mother.
The home is not the place it used to be, it did not have the same atmosphere, happy and inviting, as it had on my past visits.
There are renovation works about to start and the home seems very empty and sad.
I did not see
any activities the afternoon I visited and there was very little interaction with the residents.
This is such a shame as the home used to be such a nice place to visit my friend.

I believe on this occasion you visited early evening – we have different activities happening every day but, depending on the wishes of residents, these tend to happen in the mornings and afternoons (after lunch) as this is when residents are most keen to get involved. Understandably, when it gets later in the day, particularly after dinner, many residents like to relax, and we would always respect their wishes in this regard. I would also like to ally your concerns about the emptiness of the home, as we have the same number of residents on the floor your friend resides on as previously. The building work is ongoing across the next few months but we are doing our best to minimise disruption and daily life should remain as happy and normal for all residents throughout as it always has. If you have any concerns, comments or questions please do let us know and we’ll be happy to discuss these with you. We also have activity schedules on display throughout the home if you’d like to pop in when these are happening (you’re also welcome to join in with your friend) – we also run larger events, such as the recent Jubilee garden party which I believe you came along to, and you’re always welcome to join us for these too.

My father has been a resident of Salisbury Manor for over two years. In that time, he has been looked after wonderfully, despite Covid and lockdown restrictions. The staff look after him with the utmost compassion and good humour. Great activities that cater for both men and women. Just last week, he
was taken to the Army Museum for the day, and his favourite carer came in on her day off. That epitomises all that is Salisbury Manor. A caring, kind and happy place!

My father moved into the care home in September '21 after it became apparent that he could no longer be looked after safely at home. After months of anxiety and increasing despair, wondering what to do and how we could improve Dad's quality of life, we discovered Gracewell of Salisbury. It was a difficult

I can’t thank the staff of Gracewell of Salisbury enough for the care given to my mother during her time as a resident.
The standards of professionalism were high, and the warmth and compassion shown by everyone in interactions with all residents were exemplary. It was clear to me that nothing was
too much trouble. The demands placed on the home and its staff by my mother’s fast deteriorating Alzheimer’s were extensive and various, but the challenge was met in every aspect and both I and my mother were continually left with the clear impression that my mother was safe, being well looked after, and was cared for in very aspect. Kindness, warmth and compassion together with professional care were the hallmarks Thank you.

My husband was admitted to Gracewell of Salisbury on 24th July 2021 following two traumatic stays in hospital. His mobility was severely compromised in that he could neither walk, talk or feed himself. It was thanks to the unstinting kindness, compassion and practical care provided, including communal
activities, that he is now beginning to walk again and is back to where he was six months ago. The most notable feature of Gracewell for us has been the family atmosphere. The level of compassion and understanding shown to each and every resident is reflected by staff at every level, even when under pressure.

My mother spent two years at Gracewell of Salisbury until she passed away 2 weeks ago. Everyone there treated her with such love and affection and made her time there really enjoyable and fun.
I visited often and found all the staff from office to carers, nurses and housekeeping to be efficient caring
and nothing was too much trouble. I thoroughly recommend Gracewell of Salisbury.

My mother first went to Gracewell for four weeks of respite care following hospital admission for a fall. She is in her late nineties and physically frail though of sound mind. Initially, she was anxious and reluctant to settle, but the staff could not have been more welcoming and caring, and now she
is a permanent resident. I have been immensely impressed by Gracewell. Care is provided to the highest standard and comfort to both residents and relatives. All my questions and concerns are listened to and taken seriously. The food is good. I am particularly impressed by the range of activities offered daily, which provide plenty of mental and social stimulus and fun! I am so grateful for all the help and support Gracewell has given my mother. The staff have gone above and beyond my expectations. It is a lovely, happy place. I recommend Gracewell highly.

My late father received end of life care at Gracewell for 10 days having spent 8 weeks in hospital. He received excellent care from the staff and had a lovely room opening up onto the rear patio. As retired nurses, my husband and I have an awareness and understanding of what good care involves. We could
not speak more highly of the care and attention my father received. He was always treated with respect and dignity.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating in respect to visiting considering the restrictions due to Covid -19. During our visits, our family were also well looked after by the staff with offers of hot drinks and sandwiches.
When he passed away the staff showed great empathy and compassion to us all.

Due to a deterioration in his health, my Grandfather needed to move into a Care Home directly from hospital in the midst of some of the worst weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic. We were all keen that he move closer to family, a considerable distance from the hospital he was in, complicating the move further.
The team at Gracewell of Salisbury were absolutely brilliant, working hard to make the move as smooth as they could and going to great efforts to ensure my Grandfather felt "at home" and settled quickly, despite the necessary challenge of welcoming a new resident in the midst of a global pandemic. His room was beautifully prepared in advance, his support bespoke to his needs and the Gracewell team bent over backwards to facilitate regular telephone and video calls with family until we could visit in person. Sadly my Grandfather deteriorated further and has subsequently died but I feel incredibly grateful that he was in such a wonderful and caring environment during his final months.

My Mother went into Gracewell of Salisbury in February 2021 - during lockdown. This was an extremely difficult time for my mother and our family, for her to go into a nursing home, aged 99 and with slow onset Alzheimer's. All the staff at Gracewell's - Administration, Carers and Nurses have all been
more than helpful and caring during the time my mother has been there. She has settled amazingly well and I cannot thank the staff enough - I feel so much more relaxed now about my mother's care.

Our mother has been in the home for six weeks as her advancing dementia, and distance from us meant she was no longer able to live alone. From our first contact with the wonderful Home Admissions Advisor, we have been constantly impressed with the care and helpfulness of all the staff whether nursing,
reception, care assistants etc. Mum has settled well, visits have been possible with the help of staff who does the Covid testing. The local GP visits the home weekly, food is superb and her room is comfortable. It is never an easy decision to move a loved one into care but I cannot fault the effort and assistance from the whole team in Salisbury. Mum understands why she is in the home and always tells us how kind everyone is. The memory floor for dementia sufferers is bright and colourful, they have their own dining room and it’s great that we could bring paintings and photos to make the room seem like home.

Moving my mum, who has dementia, into a home was a very stressful experience but the staff at Gracewell were incredibly supportive throughout. She has settled well, better than I could ever have hoped, and I feel very confident that she is being looked after by caring, competent staff who understand
her needs. I feel well informed about her care and the admin and admissions team have been kind, efficient and responsive.

I studied Adult Nursing at Bournemouth University and joined Salisbury Manor as a registered nurse before progressing to become Home Manager.


There’s plenty that keeps me busy in my role. I love supporting the residents and listening to their stories, doing admin, liaising with the team and ensuring they have everything they need to deliver the best care. I’m very proud of the team here at Salisbury Manor. Each colleague works with compassion and love for the residents.


Mealtimes are the best times of the day here at our Salisbury care home. Residents are socialising and enjoying the delicious food served by our talented catering team. It’s lovely to see the smiles and interactions between residents and the team at these times.


My husband is in the army, so, outside of work, family time is very precious as he’s often away on duties. I also enjoy reading and getting lost in a book.
