I want to thank the manager so much for her support, kindness and caring approach. I can honestly say her staff are all second to none.
I worried, felt guilty and had sleepless nights over my dad going into a care home. It was my dad's worst nightmare, but from day one everyone has been wonderful.
Any worries l had disappeared. Dad is happy, he calls it home. When l heard him say that l got tearful. The home is clean, the staff friendly and helpful and really care for my dad. Honestly, I am so grateful for the wonderful people who work there. I actually get emotional about it because its such a big, hard decision to make. You hear so many horror stories. Let me tell you there isn't one thing l dislike about the place. Well done to the manager you have done a great job and have a wonderful team. Seeing Dad smile and be happy is fantastic. He can't praise you enough. Trust me Dad wasn't an easy man to please and age didn't change that. So it's a bit of a miracle. Thank you.

The care staff seem very caring but everything else about this care home is poor. My dad's room had no shower in his bathroom and a toilet seat with what looked like cement on it. The TV didn’t work and just a sheet for warmth. The reception staff are terrible and have no idea what is going on. My dad
was taken to hospital and no one called us. We found out 16 hours later from a social worker who just happened to call the care home regarding my dad. He was sent to the hospital with no wash bag, glasses, or even a jumper. When we called to collect his belongings reception staff told us he was still there even though we knew he was in the hospital. When we got his belongings his coat and 2 pairs of reading glasses were missing and we had clothes and a phone charger that belonged to another patient. Under no circumstances send a family member here.

Thank you for commenting on the caring nature and the professionalism of the care staff that work at Moorland gardens. All our bedrooms at Moorland gardens have en-suite facilities, but no showers. Duvets and blankets are provided, for all our residents. Our care staff and maintenance team endeavour, that all repairs and replacements are reported and responded to in a timely manner to ensure the health, safety and comfort of all our residents. If there is a television in any of our bedrooms they are portable appliances tested regularly and will not be used unless they are safe. It is our policy, that whenever a resident is admitted to hospital that the next of kin is informed, staff did try to contact the family but without success, we can only apologise to the family. The fully trained staff at Moorland Gardens would never allow a resident to leave the home without appropriate clothing. A full inventory upon admission is completed to ensure the safety of belongings.

The manager was extremely supportive in the placement of my mother on discharge from hospital. Staff are very helpful. Mum is being looked after extremely well and her need's are being met in all areas of her care.

I understand that during COVID the staff have been put under a lot of stress! Unfortunately, my experience when my husband passed away was not helpful. He died in hospital and the home called me to pick up his belongings. I went the next day and took the black bin liners away plus three bags of food
(one a Christmas) bag. When I got home I found food items in with his clothes, two bags of food were untouched and had perishable goods which had gone mouldy. This was very upsetting as it seemed the bags had just been dumped in his room? On top of that, the member of staff I met didn’t realise he had died. I can't review anything else really as I couldn’t go in due to COVID. The reception looked very clean and the home was very strict about COVID rules understandably, just very upsetting for me and my family.
I’ve had to fill in the rest of this form without having experienced any time in the home or seeing my husband in there.

When Mum became bedridden and due to a medical condition, needed to be checked on regularly day and night, we realised she would need to go into care. I was really upset as I didn't think anybody could look after Mum as I did. How wrong I was. We chose Moorland Gardens from a recommendation and because
it met our needs. The staff are so kind and caring, Mum couldn't be more well looked after. When I talk to her and she says I've had such a good day with so many laughs and my dinner was absolutely lovely, I know we've made the right choice.

Moorlands Nursing Home is an outstanding nursing home, full of wonderful, caring staff who have so much personality and compassion. I am thankful we chose this home for my father, who not only suffers dementia but also a range of other medical issues. I particularly want to praise the manager for running
such an organised and empathetic home who treats all of its members as part of one big family. She has managed the home expertly through the pandemic of Covid19, she is to be highly commended, I cannot thank her enough. Communication between the administrative staff and family members of residents is easy and companionable, my thanks to all of them, in particular to the staff member who arranges our visits with ease and friendliness. I would like my final words to be grace and humanity, two important words at such a difficult and emotional time. Thank you, everyone, at Moorlands Nursing Home.

My 103 yr old mother died recently and during the last 3 1/2 years has been a resident at Moorland Gardens Care Home. Her nursing care has been exemplary throughout. She was a very bright but exceedingly frail lady and was always treated with attention to her dignity and she was enabled to feel in control
of decisions. Such a positive environment where the very well respected managers do their utmost for the residents.
They (and the staff) are well supported as were we (her family) at the end of her life. The catering and housekeeping services are also of a very high standard.

My mother moved into Moorland Gardens in September 2019 and the care she received was outstanding. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Visiting can be made at any time. All the staff treats everyone (including visitors) with so much respect and dignity. You feel they are all part of your family For the
first time in many years I could start to relax, knowing that at this home my mother was being very well looked after.

My uncle is cared for very well, he feels safe and secure, it gives us peace of mind that he is well cared for. I visit every day and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble.

I have been at Moorland Gardens Care Home every day since my mum was admitted, and this is the first time my mum has ever been in a care home. I am truly impressed with this care home. It is well run and spotlessly clean, I cannot fault this home, the manager, the reception staff, the nurses and carers
are all exceptional and well mannered and always approachable. I have no complaints or negatives about Morland Gardens. I would highly recommend this home and would put Mum back in here if she ever had to come back.

I cannot fault this care home. They have taken the best care of my mum and have been on hand anytime we need them. They are so friendly and cannot fault any of the managers, nurses or carers. It is spotlessly clean and I have no complaints whatsoever. I would highly recommend this care home and would
have no hesitation in putting Mum back here if she had to have care in the future. Mum says everyone in here is lovely and she is well settled.

My dad was admitted into Moorland Gardens care home in February 2019 with dementia and a heart condition. He also had an infection and nobody knew what it was until he went to Moorland Gardens, who diagnosed his condition as delirium. The medication was taken and my dad was back to his old self, apart
from his dementia. The staff were always caring to my dad and he was happy staying there. The manager and staff are all a credit to the home. I would recommend the home to anybody who needs the care my dad did.

Mum was in Moorland Gardens for ten weeks after a spell in hospital. This is a nursing home so the level of care is high. The care and nursing staff are friendly, efficient and always available to answer questions, even when busy. I felt the home's strengths were firstly the manager, who is highly visible
on the units keeping a close eye on everything. The activities team work hard to involve the residents and on sunny days in the summer there was often tea and cake in the garden. The team are now in Moorlands seven days a week. The rooms have en suite toilets and everything is clean, but they could do with an update. This was my first experience of a care home and on the whole, it was very positive.
