My husband was a resident here for 16 months. In this time, he was extremely well cared for. The staff were all kind, caring and always found time for a chat. The cleanliness was outstanding and there were never any smells of urine or cooking.

I live 350 miles from Moorland Gardens Care Home and travelled to visit my Uncle for 3 days in June. I was very impressed by my welcome and also by the obvious care that he was being given.
The staff were very informative and gave me a great insight as to what care he was receiving.
I phoned every
weekend and was always remembered by the staff from my visit. On other occasions when he had to be taken to hospital I was phoned immediately and kept informed at all times which was very reassuring as he has no other family nearby.
All in all, I can't speak highly enough of the staff and the Care Home.

Our mum stayed in this home while she was terminally ill. From day one when mum moved into the home, all its staff were brilliant, kind and always professional. Our mum needed a level of care we just could not achieve at home so the home was chosen to help with this.
The level of care was unbelievable
for both mum and any of the family that came to visit. From reception through to the care staff, nothing was ever too much trouble and we all received the very best we could have hoped for. Thank you for all your help and support.

My grandad has been a resident at Moorlands since 4th February 2019.
I can honestly say we have all been 100% happy with the care he has received throughout his stay so far.
All of the staff we have come into contact with are friendly, we are welcomed well, all the staff make us feel at home, they
keep us up to date about his daily ongoings and my grandad always looks clean and tidy. Even on difficult days, we feel happy to leave him in the care given at Moorland.
Moving into a home was worrying for the family to begin with but we are very happy with Moorland and couldn’t imagine him being cared for anywhere else.
Thank you to everyone that has contributed to the care of my grandad - from all the family.

Resident arrived after time in hospital. Previous home not suitable to return. She has issues re behaviour and dementia and was not thriving in the previous care. Moorlands is doing so well with her and we are so relieved that she is in this home. Great manager and qualified staff. They made it possible
to hold a 90th party for her in the home. So grateful and would recommend.

Visitors are warmly welcome to Moorland Gardens Care Home. The hospitality at the front desk or reception hub is very fantastic. Visitors are readily made to feel at home by the admin staff and the home manager. I would not hesitate to recommend Moorland Gardens Care Home to anyone who seeks respite
in Luton.

I have no worries about the care my mother is receiving. The staff are wonderful, I get a welcome from reception every time I visit. If there is a certain item or items to be bought for mum, I always obey instructions and when mum has to be seen by staff, I will wait until they have finished.

My father was initially discharged from hospital into Moorland Gardens for a “temporary” 6 week period. It soon became obvious that the care he would receive there was much better than using care visitors at home.
The staff at Moorlands were absolutely fantastic and they looked after him very well,
despite his frailty and increasing dementia. The entire premises is kept spotless and his room was functional, clean and open to sunlight. Moorlands took care of any hospital visits that were needed and always kept us informed of any changes in my father's condition and welfare needs - such as haircuts and other hygiene requirements.
I would recommend Moorland Gardens on the strength of the caring staff alone and the environment is very good for a town centre care home.

I had a nice time at Moorland rehab. The only problem they were understaffed. Everyone was kind to me. Food lovely.

My brother has now been at Moorland Gardens for two years. He is now bedridden and non-verbal. We arrived unannounced from America and found him clean, well dressed and with attentive staff. Unasked, a detailed record of his progress was made available. His room was clean and bright. Luton Social Services
had initially placed my brother at Moorland Gardens due to his deteriorating condition. We were given the option of moving him shortly after he was admitted. We were reasonably familiar with alternate sheltered options but when his needs dictated a nursing home we were, and continue to be, satisfied with his care at Moorland Gardens.

Moorland Gardens Care Home is a well-run establishment which provided my mother with the quality of care she needed. The staff were always friendly and cooperative and she was well looked after. Any issues were quickly sorted out and resolved. We were always included in any events. My mother was happy

Mum was treated with kindness and compassion by all members of staff, nurses, doctors, carers or physios.

Mum's stay has been generally good and she has been looked after well by friendly staff.


All room carpets can do with a clean and definitely an extra carer or two is needed as the current ones are struggling to cope on their own due to lack of staff.

We have used other care homes for other relations however we chose Moorland Gardens this time because we felt it met our requirements better. The building was clean, light and airy and unlike many care homes, it did not have that nasty odour.


The nursing staff were excellent, the attention given

to residents is very good and all procedures are carried out with a friendly smile rather than a frown. In fact it’s the staff that make you feel they are in control of the situation and any problem you have is manageable. The only negative I have for Moorland Gardens is the admin/reception area. We were not greeted or acknowledged on any of our visits, in fact, it was often empty. It was not explained to us the need to sign in or out until another visitor saw us leaving without signing the book.


To sum up I would say the nursing staff are excellent however the admin/reception needs improvement.

Initially uncertain as to where the care was going, as I watched and talked to the staff I became confident that they were doing the best for all their residents. They spoke to them as real people and beyond necessary measures, did not push them into doing anything, they did not feel they wanted to
do. The building was cleaned well and the security was excellent. The food was plain but pleasant and adequate.

She has been ill for 13 years, she has been moved 4 times to different care home because of home closing etc.
I am very happy with Moorland Gardens.
