Opened in 2013, this welcoming home is located on Windsor Street, an attractive residential road in north Cheltenham. Windsor Street Care Centre offers residential, dementia, nursing and respite care for up to 81 residents in modern, friendly and comfortable households with a beautiful garden and balcony space to enjoy.

To give you the support when you need it, a friendly, professionally trained team is on hand around the clock to support you, so that you can continue to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.

This modern home has been designed with your comfort and wellbeing in mind. Relax in one of the cosy lounges, take advantage of the secure terraces on sunny days, or join in one of the social activities taking place daily. If you'd like a little more privacy, then your own spacious bed-sitting room, with en-suite shower facilities, offers a peaceful haven.


There is full programme of different activities and events organised by the Activity Co-ordinators around each person's requests, hobbies and interests.

Home cooked meals are prepared by the talented cook and kitchen team. The freshly prepared, delicious dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and take account of any individual dietary requirements or preferences.

    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

The home is very clean and tidy with some fabulous, caring staff, especially two. The Hairdressers are absolute gems as well. However, that is where the good points end. There was poor communication between Staff, especially at the weekend. Poor understanding of some procedures amongst two staff who,
in front of our family, looked on a search engine using their personal mobile phone how to take a blood sugar reading. Not great for diabetic patients.
No stimulation for the patients that we saw. They wandered aimlessly about, stayed in their rooms or sat in chairs all day. That was the case when we visited.
When Dad went into the Home, he deteriorated on a daily basis. He went from walking and interacting with us to dying in the space of 4 weeks. He was put on end of life care and his medication was withdrawn without family being informed.
He wanted to come home. We wanted him home but sadly neither his nor our wishes were realised.
We are devastated and cannot forgive them.

I understand that the Home Manager was supporting you with advice during your dad’s stay as far as she could, though specific decisions relating to medication are taken by residents’ GPs and not by our care teams. I understand how distressing it is when you see a loved one’s health deteriorate, though please understand that our care team really did want the best for him, working alongside medical professionals and the social care teams, as well as the teams at the hospital. I believe the Home Manager has tried to contact you recently and once again, please accept our deepest sympathy for the loss of your dad.

I cannot praise The Orders of St John Care Trust and the staff at Windsor Street Care Centre highly enough. My mum has received exceptional care since coming to the home in 2018 and management has played a key role in ensuring her needs and continuity of care are met to the highest standard. My mum
feels safe, valued and loved and is treated with dignity and respect. She adores all of the staff, doctors, carers, receptionists, admin team, cleaners and carers and now considers them as friends. This exceptional care has in turn, given my wife and I complete peace of mind knowing that mum is in the best possible place she can be. With thanks and gratitude.

The care centre's great strength is the quality of its staff. Blenheims care team and those supporting showed real love, admiration and tender care for our mother. It's not easy looking after someone who has dementia but the care team were always patient and easygoing and very importantly tactile. An
embrace or an arm around the shoulder will mean so much to an old and frail person. Windsor Street Care Centre is a lovely care home.

My grandma spent almost four months on the assessment unit, Balmoral at Windsor Street Care Centre. Throughout her stay on Balmoral, she received wonderful care from all the staff on the unit and the physio and occupation therapists involved with her assessments. My grandma needed to quickly be admitted
due to her increasing care needs and Windsor Street were very compassionate and swiftly put things in place for her to stay with them. She has now moved on to another home but we, as a family, will always cherish the time she had at Windsor Street and the fantastic care she received.

From the very first contact with Windsor Street Care Centre, we have been very thankful for all involved in Mum's care. The staff are so friendly and caring, not only to Mum but also to us as we navigate the changing circumstances of Mum no longer being able to live in her own home. Her room is lovely
and we have been encouraged to fill it with her own pictures etc. Everyone we have come into contact with has been wonderful and I believe Mum is going to be very happy here - as are we.

My father was only at Windsor Street for a short time before he sadly passed away. The professionalism and care the staff showed my father, myself and my mother was outstanding, from the nurses, carers, manager, receptionist, cleaner and activities coordinator. The level of care and dignity shown to

What is not mentioned in relation to the assessment unit is that this is an inferior version of what a service user might expect from a modern 21st-century care home. There are no activities to engage or stimulate the patients (supposed to be the residents who enjoy a full range of these). The staff
are lovely but are too busy to spend time with them. The end result, with restricted visiting from outside, is a marked deterioration in mental health.

The perfect word to describe the "Windsor Street Care Centre" is "excellent". The loveliest, kindest carers and nurses who do everything that can to help you, even when you do stupid things, like me! I am very sad to leave your lovely care centre. Great cleanliness, lovely food and rooms, beautiful

I have come through a bad patch and Parkinson's. In hospital the staff did really understand the nature of the disease and I spent long hours in bed, feeling my legs rotting away. Here the opposite is true. It's difficult for me to write neatly but all I need to say is the staff here is treating me
with dignity respect. I think the staff is the best I have come across and they are a credit to their calling. They go the extra mile.

I cannot fault the carers. They go beyond their duties on many occasions, especially during the pandemic where they have to do hairdressing and nails of residents as well as prepare and serve three meals a day, wash up and personal care for each resident, some needing two carers to hoist them; my mother
being one of them. I feel most strongly that carers are so busy, they do not have time to sit and talk to residents. It's disgraceful that carers are on minimum wage when non-trained cleaners can charge £15 an hour.

My mother was discharged to Windsor Street Care Centre from hospital. Although I had been my mother's carer for five years, my older brother was put down as her next of kin, and they dealt only with him. I went to the care home yesterday and begged them to let me see my mother. I'd spoken to her on
Skype and could see she was failing. Due to covid, they refused to let me in - pleasantly, but firmly, despite 20 minutes of pleading. They told me she wasn't at "end of life".
At 9 am this morning, they called to tell me she'd passed away. My mother had dementia. She died thinking I couldn't be bothered to visit her. I was allowed to see her today. I am devastated that my mother died believing I didn't love her enough to visit her. This is something I will have to live with for the rest of my life. The carers who laid my mother out were lovely and allowed me to stay while they got her ready, but the management should have listened to my concerns.

I would like to thank Windsor Street for the excellent care my mother received during her 5 years as a resident, with steadily increasing dementia. Residents are treated with respect and affection, and relatives are welcomed and supported. The carers are a wonderful team whose patience and professionalism
are so impressive for such a demanding job. The admin, domestic and catering staff are always helpful and there is excellent GP backup. Dementia is not an easy road for sufferers or families, but Windsor Street does its best to make it easier, and it comes across as a happy place.

Marzanna Urbaniak joined the Trust 4 years ago and has over 24 years of nursing experience. Having worked as care leader, nurse and deputy manager in 2019 she became the home manager of Windsor Street Care Centre.

Beata Beevor

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Joined: 2019

Bea has been an Activity Coordinator at OSJCT since November 2019 and at Windsor Street since September 2022. She is passionate about her role, brings a person-centred approach to her work, and ensures that residents actively participate in community activities. She is also the Dementia and End of Life Champion at Windsor Street Care Centre, focusing on fostering independence among residents.

Her qualifications include being a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, holding a Diploma in Care RQF - Adult Care - Activity Coordinator path, and achieving Principles of End-of-Life Care Level 2 and Level 3. Bea has also completed courses in Grief and Bereavement Counselling Diploma and Dementia Care Level 2. Beyond her professional commitments, Bea leads a Bereavement Cafe and an End-of-Life Cafe, connecting Windsor Street with the Cornerstone Centre Community Hub.

In her free time, Bea finds joy in regular seaside visits with her husband and dog Olav, indulging in her passion for body boarding, especially during the winter months.

Charo Guirado

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Joined: 2010

Charo has been an Activity Coordinator with OSJCT since March 2010. She initially started as a carer and later obtained her NVQ Adult Care Level 2 qualification.

In November 2022, she took on the role of Activity Coordinator, and she is also a Dementia Champion. Charo is genuinely passionate about her work, always thinking of unique and engaging activities for residents. Her approach involves encouraging residents to pursue activities they enjoy and fostering a positive and stimulating environment.

Outside of her professional commitments, Charo likes spending quality time with her family in Spain. She loves walks along the beach and countryside trips with her husband. She likes to spend her free time reading books and using her imagination to sew and knit beautiful and meaningful items.
