Opened in 2013, this welcoming home is located on Windsor Street, an attractive residential road in north Cheltenham. Windsor Street Care Centre offers residential, dementia, nursing and respite care for up to 81 residents in modern, friendly and comfortable households with a beautiful garden and balcony space to enjoy.

To give you the support when you need it, a friendly, professionally trained team is on hand around the clock to support you, so that you can continue to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.

This modern home has been designed with your comfort and wellbeing in mind. Relax in one of the cosy lounges, take advantage of the secure terraces on sunny days, or join in one of the social activities taking place daily. If you'd like a little more privacy, then your own spacious bed-sitting room, with en-suite shower facilities, offers a peaceful haven.


There is full programme of different activities and events organised by the Activity Co-ordinators around each person's requests, hobbies and interests.

Typical daily activities might include:

•        seated yoga

Home cooked meals are prepared by the talented cook and kitchen team. The freshly prepared, delicious dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and take account of any individual dietary requirements or preferences.

- Lunch Club: Second Monday of every month, 12noon – 1pm

- Coffee Morning - every Saturday, from 10:45am filled with current affairs discussion or quizzes

- Time to Talk: Tea, coffee and a chat - every other Thursday, 3pm – 4pm

    Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
    medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

Staff kind and helpful, mostly very caring - I felt looked after.
Facilities very good and easy to use.
Food quality variable - soup watery - porridge good for brick making - pastry solid.
Also a difficulty providing for special requirements.

My mother spent 15 months in Windsor Street as she gradually deteriorated with dementia. The staff were caring, flexible and kind during the whole time but particularly towards the end. The whole place operated with a real sense of care and support to both my mother and myself.

My father was cared for in Windsor street for 3 weeks whilst he recovered from an illness, the care was exceptional and they really could not do enough for him. The facilities were wonderful and all new and fresh. It is a new purpose built care home so ideal so frail elderly people to move about freely
or with assistance.
We were allowed to bring our elderly black labrador onto Balmoral and she was very much loved by the staff and some of the other guests in the suite. Having the dog to visit really cheered up my father and helped him feel more at home.
In the care home, there is a purpose built bath so that elderly people can have help to have a bath which is a real luxury if you are no longer able to in your own home. My father found this a real treat and was truly pampered during his bath times.
The food was delicious and main meals are served at lunch time.
We really cannot fault the care given and the service provided, definitely a safe and caring place to be.

Stepdad has been at Windsor Street since 2012. I have always found the staff extremely helpful, polite and caring, as do all my family.
Stepdad has been on one of the dementia units within the home, which all the staff made his stay very welcoming and well looked after as possible.

Windsor Street Care is an excellent care home where the residents needs always come first whether it be nursing or personal care.
Dad was only here for 28 days but he felt like it really was his home and was always praising the nursing staff, carers and even the maintenance man, they always found time
to have a chat or even a song.
They also found time to look after our family during a Very difficult time, for that we will be always grateful.
Windsor Street Care is an excellent example of a well managed and well run care home without losing the personal touch.

On visiting a family friend I was very impressed by the care centre. A lovely room, bigger than others I have visited in other homes. Lovely outside balconies with seating and flowers. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. The person I was visiting was very happy there. Lovely kitchen area for
visitors to use adjacent to a nice dining area for the residents. Very impressed.

I was very impressed on my first visit to look round the home. It was spotlessly clean and the senior nurse was very helpful.
I found the staff all very caring and dedicated.

Windsor Street Care Centre is excellent. My mum has now been there for nearly two years. I can honestly say that I doubt there is anywhere in the U.K that would be a better place for her in this the last stage of her life.

My mother has been a resident for 22 months. I like the "open door" policy and being able to visit at any time. The carers are exceptionally caring, respectful and patient. They treat residents with good humour and kindness. A new initiative to have an activity coordinator dedicated to each household
has improved activities. I am grateful to the pro-active carers in my mother's household who have gone the extra mile to provide materials and personalised handmade bags for each resident. The manager is approachable and open to new ideas. The whole staff team work hard to provide a welcoming friendly home. Thank you.

My dad was transferred directly from hospital originally into respite care on Balmoral Unit, Windsor Street Care Home. He was not expected to live beyond a few months. He was totally dependent on staff for all his needs, however, after several months of excellent care, he is now greatly improved, eating
well, building his strength up and this is purely down to the continuous great care he has received. He loves the place now and considers it his home.

Marzanna

Marzanna Urbaniak

Job Title: Home Manager

Marzanna Urbaniak joined the Trust 4 years ago and has over 24 years of nursing experience. Having worked as care leader, nurse and deputy manager in 2019 she became the home manager of Windsor Street Care Centre.


Marzanna has been with Winsdor Street for two years and has fantastic relationships with colleagues, relatives and their families.


Marzanna prides her herself on being committed to care, enabling all to have fulfilling lives.


Beata

Beata Beevor

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Joined: 2019

Bea has been an Activity Coordinator at OSJCT since November 2019 and at Windsor Street since September 2022. She is passionate about her role, brings a person-centred approach to her work, and ensures that residents actively participate in community activities. She is also the Dementia and End of Life Champion at Windsor Street Care Centre, focusing on fostering independence among residents.


Her qualifications include being a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, holding a Diploma in Care RQF - Adult Care - Activity Coordinator path, and achieving Principles of End-of-Life Care Level 2 and Level 3. Bea has also completed courses in Grief and Bereavement Counselling Diploma and Dementia Care Level 2. Beyond her professional commitments, Bea leads a Bereavement Cafe and an End-of-Life Cafe, connecting Windsor Street with the Cornerstone Centre Community Hub.


In her free time, Bea finds joy in regular seaside visits with her husband and dog Olav, indulging in her passion for body boarding, especially during the winter months.


Charo

Charo Guirado

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Joined: 2010

Charo has been an Activity Coordinator with OSJCT since March 2010. She initially started as a carer and later obtained her NVQ Adult Care Level 2 qualification.


In November 2022, she took on the role of Activity Coordinator, and she is also a Dementia Champion. Charo is genuinely passionate about her work, always thinking of unique and engaging activities for residents. Her approach involves encouraging residents to pursue activities they enjoy and fostering a positive and stimulating environment.


Outside of her professional commitments, Charo likes spending quality time with her family in Spain. She loves walks along the beach and countryside trips with her husband. She likes to spend her free time reading books and using her imagination to sew and knit beautiful and meaningful items.
