Ritson Lodge is a purpose-built Care Home set in the delightful village of Hopton-on-Sea. Only a short walk from the beautiful coastline of Norfolk, the home specialises in providing residential care, dementia care, and respite stays.

Set in a light and airy purposefully designed setting, the home offers modern but homely living for residents. From the cosy en suite bedrooms to the spacious and welcoming living and dining areas. Ritson Lodge has been created to encourage residents to feel at home and settle into life at the home. In Memory Lane, where dementia care is delivered, you’ll see a bespoke design aimed at helping residents to find their way around the home as well as adapted design features to encourage reminiscence.

The same high standards are also evident in the care provided. The team focus on ensuring residents feel safe and comfortable whilst following carefully designed care plans that prioritise independence and dignity.

Ritson Lodge is a lovely place. My sister is in the dementia unit, it was a warm cosy feel with lots of memory jogging, posters and memorabilia on the walls. The staff are to a person warm, friendly and is borne out in how my sister has blossomed in their care and always smiling at the staff. She can
be challenging at times and soon lets you know if she's not happy but this has never been the case at Ritson.

Facilities of a high standard. The staff are friendly and helpful. Excellent dining experience. Purpose-built accommodation light and airy. Good communication, always contacted if the need arises. My aunt and uncle after a turbulent year I managed to move them into Ritson Lodge they had been in separate care homes for a while and wanted to move closer to their family and be together. The staff have made them most welcome, they started in two separate rooms, but they asked if they could be together
and they put them in one room and made their other room a lounge for them which they are very pleased with, they can't thank the staff enough and the food is great. They are slowly getting used to the change in lifestyle and lots of support from the staff. When Covid reduces and they can go out on trips and I can take them out I think this will help a lot. I would like to thank all the staff for their help and kindness, especially the lady who first showed me around and has taken care of my aunt and uncle and their needs and has kept me informed and advised me on their care.

All the Ritson Lodge staff provided excellent care for my mother who was a resident for four years and recently died at the home. The care staff provided very sensitive and attentive care during my mother's last couple of weeks. The administrative staff were flexible and sympathetic throughout.

In general, I find care at Ritson Lodge very good, but as in all things, everything is not perfect. I would like to see my wife given an exercise to her left leg which I can see the muscle disappearing. Also, I enjoy the fact that I can visit 2 times a week and also feed her. By doing this I feel more
involved with her care and I have more contact.

Happiness is what you get here. Obviously, there are bright, clean rooms as in a five-star hotel country-house hotel and very nice food. But the staff - always smiling and happy to do whatever needs. It's a sign of superior management when the staff are stable and motivated, and that's what the manager
brings to Barchester Ritson Lodge. My husband is comfortable and we are both happy with his care.

My father came to Ritson Lodge from the hospital, suffering from advanced dementia in April 2020. He was part of the transfer of hospital patients into care homes following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Initially, we were very worried about how he would cope with the change, especially as we
were unable to visit due to Government restrictions. However, during the 10-months Dad was a Riston, I came to see that he was in very caring and safe hands. We had regular phone contact from the home, and during these conversations, I could tell that they had established a real relationship with him and completely understood his needs. For example, Dad always needed to be physically busy, and although this sometimes required a lot of attention from staff, they quickly realised that it was essential for his overall wellbeing.
The biggest compliment I can pay is when we ere unable to be there for him, Riston Lodge's staff came to be Dad's surrogate family. There is a very strong, caring ethos, which clearly goes right through the management and staff at the home. From my experience, I would unhesitatingly recommend Ritson Lodge.

The rooms are excellent very high standard. Have mentioned numerous concerns regarding eyesight and tests, these have not been addressed (pre-covid also). Also, no outdoor visits which were discussed when he moved in (pre covid).
