After the trauma of surgery, it was lovely to be greeted so warmly on arrival for my two-week convalescence. I found all the staff so very caring and helpful in all areas, nothing was too much trouble. Getting to know the residents, I heard nothing but praise and contentment for the home staff, including
those serving food etc. The food was tasty and well presented. If it became necessary I would return here.

Yes, you helped my mother very well at a very awkward time. In particular, I found you bureaucratically efficient and it was always easy to keep in touch. The ambience was quiet and there was very little sign of flurry. The leading carers were most efficient. Medical backup from the Stokenchurch was
pretty good too. Quite strong efforts were made on the activities front, although inevitably you had difficulties adjusting to my mother's tastes and interests.

A very comfortable home albeit more like a hotel than a "home". Residents appear to be well cared for and content with their surroundings. I cannot comment on the standard of food as I have not been present when food is served.

I was so worried about putting my father in care but after my first visit I felt at ease. The staff are so kind and caring. I visited many care homes and this is by far the best. There are no unwanted smells here and it is bright and friendly. As soon as you enter here all your worries melt away. The
way to describe it is like being in a hotel - or a very upmarket hotel.

My father-in-law spent five weeks in Chiltern Grange Care Home for respite care following a nasty fall. Staff treated him with the utmost care and compassion throughout his stay and were always respectful of his wants and needs. Food was of good quality and my husband and I were kept informed of his
general health and wellbeing and of doctor’s appointments and test results. Staff were genuinely caring and very kind to him. Would not hesitate to recommend Chiltern Grange.

When Mum was diagnosed with dementia it was a scary, confusing and stressful time for us. My first contact with Chiltern Grange Care Home instantly made me feel more confident in the next steps we had to take for Mum’s safety, security and health. They explained everything and took a personal approach
from the outset. Mum was well looked after at Chiltern Grange and I met many of the care staff from the memory floor, they were all very nice and I felt Mum was happy there. The facilities are excellent, beautiful gardens, common areas and restaurants which make it feel like a nice hotel.

Following a search of homes and a very positive meeting with the client services manager at Chiltern Grange Care Home, we booked a period of respite for the gentleman we care for. He has dementia and lost his wife just prior to the pandemic. We are delighted with the care he has received, he is very
comfortable and has a good relationship with staff members who care for him.
He broke his reading glasses and the home immediately arranged for an optician to visit and we now have a new pair on the way. I asked if he could have an appointment with the hairdresser when I visited and two days later this was done.
The staff are caring and professional, everyone is helpful and communication is excellent, never a problem to telephone and ask how he is doing or book an appointment to visit.
It's so good to see him looking calm, clean, relaxed and cared for, we feel so very pleased that we have made the decision to make his care permanent.

A very caring place, we are confident our mum is being looked after and given the best possible care and support. We searched for some time before we selected this home. We felt that she would be most comfortable and secure here. She has advanced dementia and her needs are complex, we have the security

My husband, now deceased, spent almost a year at Chiltern Granger suffering from Alzheimer's. They took him in, in a state of total collapse, in June 2020 and from our initial arrival he was treated with extreme kindness and respect. Thanks to all their care he gradually learned to stand again and even
to walk two or three steps. They encouraged him to respond to their help to exercise his legs and arms. He survived Covid due to their unceasing care. His end came very peacefully and was not unexpected. He was loved by all his carers, sadly visits were curtailed much of the time but the home did their best. He looked forward to all his meals and snacks, which were well cooked and attractively presented - always with some choice.

Mum’s been in the home since breaking her ankle in September 2020. The staff have been attentive, helpful, professional and friendly throughout her stay and clearly strive to make Mum feel special!
She certainly looks well for a 95-year-old!

I am so pleased I chose to come to Chiltern Grange. I have been here for nine months and throughout this time I have been treated with respect and kindness. The carers are very professional, good at their job and always willing to help where possible. They have a cheerful attitude and work well together
as a team. I am made to feel like a person and not just the old lady in a room. I enjoy the food. There is always a choice on the menus including vegetarian options. I particularly like the little extras such as slices of fruit and homemade biscuits served with my mid-morning drink. The home has good links with the local doctors and surgery so extra advice or help is readily available if needed. Looking after us old people is not an easy task but I reckon Chiltern Grange make a very good job of it. Thank you.

My husband and I have been visiting a friend for a few years now and every time we go we are met with extremely pleasant staff, showing so much professionalism and courtesy, with all public and private areas very clean and fresh. Over the past year during this awful pandemic, the residents have been
kept safe and well and looked after with care and affection. Now that visiting is allowed, the safety precautions are excellent, with concerns for staff, residents and visitors catered for.

My father-in-law has been at Chiltern Grange for just over a year now, being widowed and going in just before lockdown began. Leaving his home of 65 years was a massive upheaval for him. The home were fantastic from day one. He has slowly settled in, with great help and support from all the wonderful
staff. His health has improved both physically and mentally and he enjoys the daily life and entertainment, whilst having his own space when he wants. Communication with us by the home has also been excellent at a difficult time for all. I would highly recommend Chiltern Grange.

The receptionist is very friendly and helpful. The care staff very attentive, picking up an issue with mums physical health recently. Management is always happy to help and quick to respond. Mum is suffering from vascular dementia. She has little short term memory but enjoys activities and entertainer.
She is looking forward to trips out once restrictions are lifted.

During my mother's stay the care has been exceptional. The staff in all departments she experienced were kind, friendly, professional and could not do enough to keep her comfortable. They have maintained very high standards throughout Covid times with enjoyable activities too. I would definitely highly

From the first phone call, first visit and then Mum actually moving in, all the staff have been incredibly kind and professional. They also relate to all of us and our individual needs really well, my sister and I use humour to deal and my dad is very much a straightforward person.
When we have been
able to visit (which is so easy to arrange and well set up) Mum is always looking good and is obviously very well settled and happy.
At the moment due to Covid we haven't been able to see much more of the home other than our initial visits but it always looks bright and clean.

The staff are wonderful and I can't believe how quickly my lovely mum has settled in. It's been a very difficult time for our family and we have been treated with professionalism and an abundance of kindness. Job Title: Client Services Manager

Hello, my name is Jackie Chicken, and I am the Client Services Manager here at Chiltern Grange.


Having previously worked in the retirement sector for four years, I was delighted to make the move into the care sector in 2022. My previous career was spent in the luxury travel industry, so delivering excellent customer service has always been high on my agenda.


Porthaven has a wonderful reputation in terms of quality of care and beautiful design, so I feel very privileged to work for one of the best care providers in the country. My role at Chiltern Grange means I am the first point of contact for families starting out on that journey to find the best fit in terms of a caring environment for their loved ones. I love the fact that we provide person-centred care, and I really enjoy showcasing the wonderful facilities, newly refurbished spaces and exceptional staff we are fortunate enough to have here at Chiltern Grange.


Outside of work, you can find me as a chaperone in the wings of a theatre supporting my daughter or cheering my son on from the side of a rugby pitch!
