Castlecroft is a special place, where the team, residents and their loved ones work together to create a happy home that feels like an extended family.

There are resident ambassadors, who have active roles to play in how the home is run, from helping to interview potential staff, to providing residents’ feedback.

The team are passionate about enriching their residents’ lives, supporting them to do the things that bring them joy, giving them a sense of continuity and purpose. One resident is a fitness enthusiast, so the team created a gym for him, with his own equipment and some new additions.

Relatives are embraced into life at Castlecroft, and many are volunteering there. For example, several relatives created a vegetable patch with the residents, while others run singing sessions. There is also a private family and friends Facebook page.

Many residents love animals, so every week a member of the team brings in her family dog for them.

All the staff are actively involved in activities. Staff buddy residents who share the same interests, so activities are even more meaningful. For example, the maintenance operative discovered one of the residents shares his love of playing pool, so takes time to join him for games in home’s bar.

A group of male residents were chatting about how they loved cooking, so the ‘curry club’ was created. They go shopping with the team for the ingredients to make their own curries.

The home itself is beautiful, with spacious ensuite bedrooms, lounge areas and quiet spaces. There are landscaped gardens, where the residents enjoy growing their own produce, which they harvest for the chef to use in the kitchen. And mealtimes are a real highlight, with delicious home-cooked meals every day.

I have been so impressed with Castlecroft Residential Care Home. Before my mum entered the home there was clear and friendly communication about what we should expect. My mum visited the home and an assessment was made of her to make the transfer from her previous care home to Castlecroft as smooth
as possible.
I am delighted by the level of care given here. I am able to draw comparisons with the previous care home and Castlecroft excels in every way. I can now see how an excellent care home functions and the difference it can make to the physical and psychological health of its residents.
The home has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and every member of staff cares for the residents as if they were their own family. At her previous care home I was constantly anxious about my mum's health and safety. I cannot thank the staff enough: I now have peace of mind that she is so well looked after.

What an excellent care home! I am delighted that mum has recently moved to Castlecroft Residential Care Home. The staff cannot do enough for her, and she is so much happier and more relaxed than she was before. Mum is eating better, looking better and altogether a new woman. Castlecroft has a 'family'
feel to it and when I leave mum after a visit, I know that she will be cared for in the best possible way, with kindness, respect and compassion. The staff are professional and work really hard. The environment is warm and friendly, and it is always a pleasure to visit. This is without doubt a really well led care home, and the managers deserve recognition for the high standards and the positive, cheerful atmosphere. Outstanding care. Well done all!

My dad has been at Castlecroft Residential Care Home now for almost 12 months. He is so happy with his Castlecroft family. Well loved and cared for by all the staff, nothing is too much.

Staff are always contactable and will contact you quickly if needed.
Staff are friendly, professional and helpful.
This creates a comfortable environment for residents, and leaves family members assured that their loved ones are in good hands.
Facilities are great, but maybe not used as much as
they could be.
Daily housekeeping is relentless, but larger jobs by site team take a while. Some areas could do with a little TLC.
Activities are great, could do with more.

My mother has been in this home for nearly 2 years. I was skeptical at first putting her into a home and the challenge of where best to place her was great.
This home was recommended to me and as I work in the NHS and have helped run a nursing home, I knew what I was looking for. It hasn't disappointed.
Mostly
the staff are very invested in their jobs and caring for the residents. They clearly care for them dearly and seems to take the time to get to know them well which is always comforting and reassuring.
I would recommend this home as my mum is so happy there, so I am happy!

My husband has complex diabetes needs as well as Alzheimer's disease.
The staff are wonderful with him, and do their very best for him. They really care about the whole family not just the residents.

The staff at Castlecroft Residential Care Home are amazing and caring with my grandfather.
Whenever we have had a issue, it has been dealt with promptly and professionally.
Two of the floor managers make you feel at home and treat you like one of their own.

My nan moved in to Castlecroft Residential Care Home a few months back and she is like a changed woman. The stimulating and nurturing environment is outstanding.

My mom does not join in most of the events but she loves watching everyone else enjoying themselves, but I have noticed that she might be starting to want to join in on some events. The lady knows what my Mom wants or doesn’t want she never pushes her. The Management and staff including all of them

My farther was struggling with life not eating or washing gave up on life it was heartbreaking to watch with alcohol so I knew it was time. Before we lost him with neglect of himself so decided to get him into care, best thing I ever did he's so happy with life, well-loved, respected, so the weight

The staff here go above and beyond their duties to care for our dad. The extra activities they provide and the interaction included are so comforting to see. Cannot speak highly enough of CastleCroft. I had Christmas lunch here with my brother. The management and carers are so professional and caring. My brother only eats soft food the kitchen accommodates him daily with fresh liquidated vegetables and meat/fish. He is so happy here I’m pleased to say. This
makes me happy plus he is also involved with activities he’s part of the Games Club. The residents get daily photos and updates on daily activities on social media. Thank you CastleCroft

I was recommended by a friend when looking for a new place for my mom. Mom has been at Castlecroft Residential Care Home now since February. After a terrible experience at her previous placement, Mom has come on leaps and bounds. She was severely depressed and underweight when she arrived at Castlecroft
but the staff have been nothing but caring, patient and understanding. The difference in my mom is huge, she is eating three meals a day, interacting with residents and taking part in activities. In particular, two members of staff have been amazing (there are many more). I couldn’t recommend Castlecroft enough!

My nan was brought to the care home in April 2023. We were very hesitant about where she goes. We got offered a place here at Castlecroft Residential Care Home and the day I came to have a look around I was greeted by friendly faces, polite and well-mannered staff.
The day we brought my nan to the
home we had all mixtures of emotions. But all of the anxiety and sadness soon went when we saw my nan just scoot off into the communal areas. It was as though she’d always been a part of that home.
As days passed we had updates from the staff and photos of my nan smiling and looking radiant. She was well, she was fed and altogether she was safe. Whenever we visit we feel it’s home from home. And my nan loves it there, she calls it her home which makes us feel at ease.
Thank you to all of the staff that have taken their time to get to know Nan and make her days better.
