Castlecroft is a special place, where the team, residents and their loved ones work together to create a happy home that feels like an extended family.

There are resident ambassadors, who have active roles to play in how the home is run, from helping to interview potential staff, to providing residents’ feedback.

The team are passionate about enriching their residents’ lives, supporting them to do the things that bring them joy, giving them a sense of continuity and purpose. One resident is a fitness enthusiast, so the team created a gym for him, with his own equipment and some new additions.

Relatives are embraced into life at Castlecroft, and many are volunteering there. For example, several relatives created a vegetable patch with the residents, while others run singing sessions. There is also a private family and friends Facebook page.

Many residents love animals, so every week a member of the team brings in her family dog for them.

All the staff are actively involved in activities. Staff buddy residents who share the same interests, so activities are even more meaningful. For example, the maintenance operative discovered one of the residents shares his love of playing pool, so takes time to join him for games in home’s bar.

A group of male residents were chatting about how they loved cooking, so the ‘curry club’ was created. They go shopping with the team for the ingredients to make their own curries.

The home itself is beautiful, with spacious ensuite bedrooms, lounge areas and quiet spaces. There are landscaped gardens, where the residents enjoy growing their own produce, which they harvest for the chef to use in the kitchen. And mealtimes are a real highlight, with delicious home-cooked meals every day.

My brother-in-law has been at Castlecroft for three years now. He is very happy here. They are one big happy family.
The home is well run, happy and always something fun going on.
It is spotless. I would recommend Castlecroft to anyone.

Mum was admitted in mid-December 2020. It was such a heartbreaking decision as we had been looking after her with 24hour care in her own home and couldn’t even visit to settle her in.
The care received by mum has been exceptional. Mums words “you couldn’t have found a better place for me, it’s top
hole, the staff are so kind, no one ever loses their temper, please make sure I can stay here”
As an ex-social worker and senior manager in social services, I can say from long experience that Castlecroft is the best run home with the best staff I have ever encountered. A fantastically caring and capable manager leads a great group of staff who really genuinely care. We have never had a moments concern since mum was admitted. Her health and mobility have improved, she now joins in games and crafts so her dexterity is better. The staff at Castlecroft are full of energy in coming up with new activities, the place is full of optimism and fun.
Mum and I cannot recommend highly enough.

Every time I visited my mum it always felt positive wherever I walked around the home. Such a lovely send-off on my mum's final farewell.

All the staff at Castlecroft Residential Care Home put their heart and soul into providing care for the residents. They not only look after physical needs but constantly provide and think of new ways to stimulate the mental well-being of all the residents. They recognise when residents are not great
at socialising with others and find out their interests so that they do not feel alone. The past year has been very trying for all and the staff have kept our family members safe always updating us on new policies. I look upon the staff there as an extension of my family. Thank you Castlecroft.

The Castlecroft staff makes all residents feel inclusive whatever is happening. I feel that mom could not get the care provided anywhere else. The kitchen provides brilliant celebration cakes afternoon treats as well as daily meals. Staff amazes with the activities they provide and manage to encourage
even the reluctant residents to give them a go. This has been so helpful during the pandemic to fill mom's day and the enjoyment is apparent when we speak. I have no worries about the care the staff members provide it is given with devotion and a smile. If I needed reassurance I only need to call. Nothing is too much trouble. It’s probably been said but the staff will go the extra mile to make someone happy. It takes a special person to work in a care home and Castlecroft is full of special people. My thanks to each and every one of them.

Our resident is a longstanding member of our local Methodist Church and has no surviving family members able to support her. From the day that she moved in, she has been comfortable and happy and for her, Castlecroft is home. We have no concerns whatsoever about the practical conditions, and the staff
have always been extremely helpful, friendly and positive creating a warm, relaxed atmosphere and this has not changed despite the pressures of covid 19. We have managed several visits, and we are impressed that communication has been maintained via lively, informative newsletters even when visits were not possible. It is reassuring that contact by phone meets with an immediate personal response by a member of staff.

My mom and aunt are both residents in Castlecroft. The way they are cared for is second to none. All of the staff are so kind and caring and they all go the extra mile for their residents and each other. It’s like one big happy family and I always get the impression that they all love their jobs. Would

When you need to find a new home for a loved one it is a huge responsibility and frankly terrifying. When my sister and I visited Castlecroft it was as though a great weight had been lifted. We are so glad we chose Castlecroft. The home is in a pleasant, quiet and tree-lined area. The staff are all,
and I mean all, fabulous. They are caring and friendly and will always go the extra mile. They will all make time to talk to you if you have concerns or want information. The manager is very hands-on and I think the ethos of Castlecroft is in no small measure due to her and her staff’s diligence. I would have no hesitation in recommending Castlecroft to anyone who is in the process of making this difficult decision.

I cannot begin to explain how wonderful the home is and the care and love that is shown to the residents. We had to unfortunately make the decision that Mom needed more help than we could give her and it was made even worse due to Covid so that meant not seeing Mom when her family was around her all
the time at home. However, since moving her to Castlecroft, we have seen the brilliant care the give and the activities they do for the residents and the facilities there are fabulous. They are Angels.

My mother has been at Castlecroft for the last 12 months, she has never been so happy considering she lived on her own. However, the care that she receives from the staff at Castlecroft is fantastic and it is definitely the right care home for our mother. I would recommend Castlecroft for the elderly
who are suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's as this is their speciality.

I live in London, 130 miles away from my sister in Castlecroft Care Home and normally I visit her every 2 weeks for about 2 hours each time. Since March 2020 no visits were made for several weeks but later structured visits were allowed for 30 minute periods. I have made 3 such visits but understandably
not allowed inside the home. My sister has difficulty in recalling recent memory facts and distant memory is often confused. consequently, any review which I can provide is subjective to my own observations. However, when I was able to make my visits inside the home I was always impressed by the pleasant atmosphere, friendliness of the staff and was always made to feel welcome. My sister's individual accommodation is clean, well-appointed and adequate. I have been aware that efforts are made by the staff to stimulate the resident's interest but I realise it is difficult to engage my sister in socially orientated activities. Prior to my sister taking up occupancy at Castlecroft I had visited several other homes none of which approached the superior standard available at Castlecroft. Whether the cost of her accommodation is value for money is commensurate with being able to rest assured she is cared for more satisfactorily than any alternative I could consider.

Admission was a pleasant process. Mum was flooded out of her sheltered accommodation but was assessed and admitted efficiently. The welcome was great. Mum has been in her same comfortable room for over two years. The activities available, the helpful team and general care have been of a consistently
high standard. Despite COVID-19, challenges of family, and Mum's deterioration, the home has impressed.

The home and the staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. My mother-in-law is looked after and cared for in a most professional way - well-fed, well cared for and well-loved.

I feel mum is content at Castlecroft - she appears to be well cared for. The carers are kind and supportive.
