Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

We are sorry that you feel that there were occasions when staffing levels were below those you believed necessary to deliver our usual great standard of care. Care UK works hard to ensure that we match the care delivery requirements of our residents (based on care needs as well as the number of residents) with the appropriate level of staffing on each suite. We work hard to match our staffing requirements with our resident’s needs and I’m sorry if you felt that we didn’t meet your expectations with this at times. We can see that you felt that the care and support in the home was excellent so we hope that we provided everything that you needed. As you mention, there are always two options available at each mealtime and we aim to offer items that are nutritious, enjoyable and appeal to the majority of our residents. The chefs and their team are always very happy to provide other options on request – we hope that, if you stay with us again, you can make use of this service.

Despite our family referring to The Potteries as the ‘Posh Hotel’, all staff members have been warm and welcoming and when I visit I feel special and cared for too!!
I love all of the activities provided, from trips to the pantomime, the tank museum and visits from Alpacas!!!! I am also encouraged to bring my dog in to see my Grandad which he loves!!!
The Potteries really is a Home away from Home!
Thank you to each and every staff member involved in my Grandad’s care.

Job Title: Home Manager
I began my social care career as a carer and worked my way up. That’s given me a very helpful perspective and understanding of what my team does. Even now, I’m always ready to roll up my sleeves and help if the need arises.
I believe that effective care is personalised care. Our team gets to know each resident well. We know what they enjoy doing, and we help them to continue to experience those things.
It’s also vital to keep up-to-date with developments in care so that we can bring benefits to residents. We recently took delivery of a Tovertafel, or ‘magic table’, which uses the latest technology to enable residents to play simple, fun interactive games, either on their own or with others. The tables have proven benefits: helping people who are living with dementia to develop their communication and cognitive skills and mobility.
