I stayed at the at Brentwood Arches Care Home in January 2025 for two weeks on respite and my experience was amazing from start to finish. The care was absolutely outstanding and the commitment of the staff was a joy to see and be around. There was always something going on and the sound of joy and
laughter was never far away especially when the entertainment team were onsite. Food was great and even family members who visited were welcomed with drinks and snacks. I would highly recommend and stay here again.

My mother was in Brentwood Arches Care Home for nearly 3 months and was treated extremely well by everyone and was made very welcome by the residents in the home.
Even my family was made welcome to eat and drink at anytime and the food was very good with great selection. The entertainment was varied
from singers to bingo and much more.

My mother spent the final eight or so months of her life at Brentwood Arches Care Home, latterly in the Woodlands dementia unit. Her care was absolutely outstanding and the commitment of the staff to the contentment and safety of residents is unwavering. They truly care about every single resident,
know their likes and dislikes and make everyone feel special and seen. The wing is filled with cheer and goodwill, with laughter ringing out and a sense of calm all around. She was truly happy these last few weeks. I can't thank you enough for all you have done for her, whilst also frequently checking in with the family and always providing friendly listening ears and frequent cups of tea. More widely, away from the Woodlands wing, the home is clean, friendly, warm, comfortable, welcoming and fun. The happiness of the residents is evident as soon as you walk through the door.

My mother joined this week and my father is arriving a week later. So far, this review is based on the first week. I hope to be able to confirm the same review after a longer period of time. The staff are fantastic with my mother and thus far have been a great start to a difficult time. One observation
would be to provide a starter pack for new residents and family and a meeting after the first week to ensure all is going in the right direction and to avoid any uncertainties.

It's a lovely place, but the night staff are nowhere near as good as the day staff. We don't get notified if there's a problem, eg Dad gets taken to the hospital by ambulance; we don't know until Dad calls from the hospital! Food is awful, not good for what they spend per month. Not enough staff.

It has to be said this care home is lovely. We cannot fault this home at all. Upon entering was met by a charming receptionist and was offered tea, juice, cake, and biscuits as our sister-in-law was being attended to. Her room was warm and airy. All my sister-in-law's needs were attended to. The home
is like home-from-home. It's a pity not all care homes are like this.

My husband arrived here in January 2023 in very poor mental and physical health. During his time here, he has "come back" to life with all the care he has received. I cannot praise them enough. Homely/friendly atmosphere.

Well, what can I say about The Beeches? When I came in here, I was in a very poorly state. The Beeches in all the staff, particularly the nurses absolutely sorted me out. Efficiently, kindly and caringly. I have loved and enjoyed my life here - even through the pandemic and spoamodic later outbreaks
of Covid. I am fairly mobile, so am able and enjoy to keep up with family, friends, hobbies and holidays outside The Beeches. But whenever I go outside The Beeches, people say to me, "you look so good". A testament in no small art to The Beeches.

Mum came to Signature at The Beeches after hip replacement surgery and for rehabilitation. She has been with you for the last year and I have been extremely happy with the level of care she has received. The staff are so friendly and meet her needs expertly. There is a very good level of understanding
of her needs and her health and well-being are monitored to ensure that she has continued to thrive. I am happy knowing I can leave her in the knowledge that she is well cared for and stimulated. There are so many activities she can be involved in and a routine that makes her feel comfortable and secure.

Jana Krapkova

Job Title: Dementia Care Manager

Joined: 2015

After finishing a Business Course in the Czech Republic, I started as a carer, looking after people with mental health problems.
When I moved to England, in 2007, I originally worked as a carer in a home near Watford. At the time, my manager offered me the position of Senior Carer/Training Co-Ordinator in Romford, so I relocated to Essex.


I was looking after young, physically disabled people. I found my passion for palliative care as we worked closely with St Francis Hospice.
Years later I was promoted to Home Based Trainer and provided mandatory training to all staff. I had the opportunity to travel around different homes in the area and study a course provided by Bradford University: “Person First, Dementia Second”. After that, I knew I had to go back into care.


I have been at The Beeches since October 2015. I started as a Lead Carer and have now worked my way up as a Dementia Care Manager. I love it here and really feel like I make a difference to our residents.
