I had been looking for a nursing home capable of looking after my father for sometime and was highly recommended The Beeches by a close friend of mine. It didn’t disappoint and after our initial visit, had no hesitation in moving my father in.

We were looking to move Dad closer to Brentwood and so made enquiries about the facilities at The Beeches. The customer services manager could not have been more helpful. She was empathic and supportive in our discussions, she offered advice and guidance on our options and was not pushy, intrusive or
imposing in any way. The facilities at The Beeches were outstanding, and the care and activities are just incredible. We eventually chose an alternative care home, purely due to geographic location, however, would highly recommend the Beeches as one of the best care homes we have seen in the Brentwood area. Our thanks to the customer service manager as we appreciated how helpful and generous she was with her time.

Signature The Beeches is an outstanding residential care/nursing home, providing high-quality accommodation which we were able to furnish in a way that suited my Mum and they helped her settle very quickly. Although Mum had had a number of respite stays there prior to moving in permanently, she ultimately
needed more nursing care than I was able to provide and lived at The Beeches for a little over 4 years before her passing. She thought the world of all the staff who, without exception, are the most caring team I could have wished for to look after Mum, supporting not only her but in many ways us too. There is an online portal available which enables relatives (who are perhaps unable to visit as often as they'd like due to distance) to log in and see fairly detailed and real-time updates of how your relative is doing on a daily basis. I can't tell you how valuable this has been over the last 2 years when we were unable to visit in person. I could go on but space prohibits a longer review.

I am so pleased my parents have moved to The Beeches. The staff are amazing, and the care is wonderful. I feel completely confident that my parents are getting the care they need. The staff show great respect for the residents and understand the importance of their resident's emotional wellbeing.

My father came for a 2-weeks respite and has decided to stay. The care and attention he receives are second to none. He flirts terribly and laughs with all the staff. I think my old dad's quality of life has improved hugely, and he's even putting weight on.
Also, there are so many activities he is
involved in. He was so isolated in his own home, and now he is socialising and being stimulated and part of a community. All vital for a happy, contented life.

Recently we had to make a very hard decision on where best for my mother-in-law to live. Whilst she wanted nothing more than to stay independent and live in her own flat, we knew with her dementia changing so quickly, it was best that she was in a safe place with 24-hour care. From the moment my husband,
sister-in-law and mum met with the management team at The Beeches; they were greeted with warmth, compassion, knowledge and professionalism.


Over the past 8-weeks, we have made the transition from her flat to The Beeches; including a 1.5-week relapse when she went back to her flat. During this time, The Beeches team has been extremely understanding and very accommodating in helping us to allow Mum to settle in on her own time and not feel pressured or rushed.


In the last week, we have moved her furniture in, and it has been amazing to see the transformation of how she feels with her own furnishings around her. She keeps calling to say, "I'm home", and we couldn't be happier.

After mum was hospitalised recently, we had to quickly arrange temporary respite care in order for her to be looked after instead of immediately returning home. The team at Beeches were very professional and made Mum feel very much like one of the family! It allowed me the peace of mind to relax, knowing

My husband spent a few days in respite care. It was his first time away from me since becoming unwell, and we were both apprehensive as he has complex needs. The staff were extremely caring and understanding and made him feel very welcome. He settled quickly, and therefore, this allowed me to have a
breakaway with no worries. We both feel happy for him to stay in the future on a regular basis.

My mother, who passed away recently, was a resident at Signature The Beeches for 5 years and reached the age of 100 yrs last year. She received good care throughout, especially during the Covid pandemic. The home had stringent infection controls, and excellent communication with relatives throughout.
I was able to monitor my mother's care and progress through the website provided for relatives.
She developed dementia in the last three years of her life and was sometimes difficult to manage. The carers were very patient with her, in spite of her confusion and difficulties with communication.
My thanks to all the care home staff who looked after her in the last years of her life.

I was here at The Beeches on respite care, fully intending to return home after recovery, I am now a permanent resident.
The more I stayed here the more I came to the conclusion that this is rather a nice place to make my permanent home, so I sold my house and arranged a care fee annuity which is
now in place. Happy days! The staff are so friendly, and look after us very well. The food is exceptional, a lot of activities are provided, medical needs are provided, laundry and cleaning services are provided. What more could you want?
The best comment I have heard about The Beeches is that "It's like living on a luxury cruise liner which never puts to sea". I totally agree.
I couldn't be happier or more content. I fully recommend The Beeches to any potential resident.

We recently moved my mother into The Beeches following a stroke whilst living in Portugal.
I called and spoke to one particular lady to enquire about a place at The Beeches after being let down by a different provider about three miles away. She is a professional, caring and kind co-ordinator of admissions
who helped myself and my sister in an extremely timely manner during the grips of a pandemic to get our mother repatriated and settled at The Beeches - we somehow managed this impossible task in two weeks. She liaised with the temporary care home, the air transportation company and Public Health England as well as answering endless questions with priority and promptness - she's been an outstanding member of the team.
My mother has settled very well after a very unsettling period of time and getting used to her life at The Beeches.
Although I am yet to fully appreciate what The Beeches has to offer, due to the pandemic - I'm happy my mother is in such a lovely environment - so far, so good.

My brother was a resident in The Beeches for over five and a half years. The care he received from the staff was wonderful, and I found them very caring. I visited as often as I could until Covid and always found him clean, dressed, shaved and happy. The surroundings were always clean and well looked
after. I always felt happy to leave him when it was time to go. The family felt that his life was extended with the care he received.

We had a wonderful experience with the client liaison manager before Mum went to the home. Making the transition into care easy for Mum. The client liaison manager is always happy to visit and chat with Mum.
Mum went into The Beeches after a fall which meant she could no longer live on her own. During
her Covid quarantine period, the staff were always visiting to make sure Mum didn’t feel lonely. After the quarantine period, she was able to join in with activities and meet other residents. The activities are good, and Mum is often out and about in the home doing things she loves. She even does some exercise!
We’ve had a few issues regarding Mum’s healthcare, but these were quickly dealt with.
The management team are great and will quickly iron out any small issues raised.
We did the first visit in ‘the pod’ yesterday. It was amazing for Mum to see and talk to us in person.
Overall, we are very happy that Mum is safe and being well cared for. It has given Mum a new lease of life.

Mum is on palliative care at Beeches since 11th March. Extremely impressed with The Beeches staff from the first contact to Mum, finally arriving and beyond. They went to the hospital to check Mum was ok to transfer and to shops to buy new nightwear for her; they arrange FaceTime calls daily; keep me
up to date with what is happening. Everyone has been so loving/caring/outstanding and go the extra mile. Mum loved her holidays, such a pity I only found The Beeches when it was needed, as I would have encouraged Mum to live there as a resident when she was healthy enough to enjoy all the facilities/activities as if a permanent holiday. Even in the first 24-hours at The Beeches, all cleaned up and new nightdress, Mum looked brighter and chattier than she has been since she was admitted to hospital on 27th January. At end of life, knowing Mum is being well looked after with love, dignity and respect for whatever time she has left, has given me great comfort as I am unable to visit currently from overseas due to Covid. Thank you, Beeches.

After a fall at home and a stay in hospital the family decided Mum needed some tender loving care before she eventually returned home. The care she received from the nursing and care staff was exemplary. They were compassionate and so caring, they took the time to get to know Mum as an individual, her
likes and dislikes and encouraged her to be playful and engaging again. This lifted Mum’s spirits enormously and I am sure aided her recovery.

Since my mum has been at The Beeches, she is almost a new woman! From a frail elderly lady who could not be bothered to get out of bed some days, and only sat in her easy chair on the days that she did, she has been transformed. The caring staff have encouraged her in all of life’s aspects and she now
rises every day, eats well and participates in as many activities as she can or wants to. She has made numerous friends and obviously the social side has played a large part in her transformation.
It must be months, if not years, since she has used comments like “I’ve had such a laugh this afternoon” or “I have enjoyed my morning” and these are things she says on a regular basis. All staff are caring and considerate and helpful in the extreme.

My mother was a resident in The Beeches for 29 months until she passed away - most of that time in the dementia unit. I cannot fault the care she was given all the way through her stay. The staff at The Beeches really go out of the way to build a relationship with the residents and consequently, we
had no doubt she was getting the best care. She felt that she was on holiday which is a tribute to The Beeches and its staff.

As a family, we have been extremely pleased with the level of care and the measures put in place to ensure our parents continuing safety and well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
Our Father was admitted to Hospital after a fall at the beginning of the crisis and although we were unable to
visit him in the Hospital the Care Manager at The Beeches kept us fully updated and liaised with the hospital to eventually get him back to The Beeches to be with our Mother.
The Care team at Beeches have continued to maintain a high level of contact during the crisis and the updates from both the GM at Brentwood and the CEO have helped keep our minds at rest that everything possible was being done to ensure the safety of our parents.
Signature level care by its nature comes at a premium but I can say that in this crisis The Beeches team have stepped up and provided a level of care over and above our expectations providing value for money in relation to the care charges paid.

Dad has been living at The Beeches since December 2016 and we have never had cause to regret the decision we made together for him to become a resident in the assisted living community. He settled quickly, is very happy, has made lots of friends, and is well looked after by the excellent staff team.
Dad participates fully in the wide range of activities available but also enjoys being able to go out independently for a walk in the Brentwood area, whenever he wants to. Dad is happy to call The Beeches his home, and for his relatives and friends, The Beeches is a lovely, well-appointed, and welcoming home to visit. Since Dad became a resident of The Beeches, my brother and I have been secure in the knowledge that he is happy, safe, and well looked after. We would have no hesitation in recommending The Beeches to others.

Jana Krapkova

Job Title: Dementia Care Manager

Joined: 2015

After finishing a Business Course in the Czech Republic, I started as a carer, looking after people with mental health problems.
When I moved to England, in 2007, I originally worked as a carer in a home near Watford. At the time, my manager offered me the position of Senior Carer/Training Co-Ordinator in Romford, so I relocated to Essex.


I was looking after young, physically disabled people. I found my passion for palliative care as we worked closely with St Francis Hospice.
Years later I was promoted to Home Based Trainer and provided mandatory training to all staff. I had the opportunity to travel around different homes in the area and study a course provided by Bradford University: “Person First, Dementia Second”. After that, I knew I had to go back into care.


I have been at The Beeches since October 2015. I started as a Lead Carer and have now worked my way up as a Dementia Care Manager. I love it here and really feel like I make a difference to our residents.
