The care my mother received at The Beeches in the last weeks of her life was superb. Every member of staff knew her by name and they all dealt with her appropriately; she was nervous about being there when she first arrived but the staff went out of their way to make her feel comfortable and welcome.
In the three weeks she was there she put on weight, various skin problems were sorted and she ended up looking and sounding better than she had for months. Her sudden death from a heart attack shocked and saddened the staff, and they were all very supportive to me and the rest of mum's family. I cannot praise The Beeches highly enough.

The staff and management are very good, help full in all areas. The cleaners is A1 it is a pleasure to stay here. The staff go out of their way to make your stay long or short pleasurable.

The Beeches is a wonderful place for my mother to live out the rest of her life. The building itself is very pleasing - more like a hotel than a residential/nursing home. The activities team offer a wide range of bingo for residents to take part in and there is a cinema and cafe for the residents to
socialise with each other and visitors. There are 2 restaurants providing very good food with lots of menu choices and a team of staff who wait on the residents. The nursing and caring staff are all excellent and most importantly very caring and patient. I have complete peace of mind knowing that they will take great care of my mother and keep her safe for me.

Jana Krapkova

Job Title: Dementia Care Manager

Joined: 2015

After finishing a Business Course in the Czech Republic, I started as a carer, looking after people with mental health problems.
When I moved to England, in 2007, I originally worked as a carer in a home near Watford. At the time, my manager offered me the position of Senior Carer/Training Co-Ordinator in Romford, so I relocated to Essex.


I was looking after young, physically disabled people. I found my passion for palliative care as we worked closely with St Francis Hospice.
Years later I was promoted to Home Based Trainer and provided mandatory training to all staff. I had the opportunity to travel around different homes in the area and study a course provided by Bradford University: “Person First, Dementia Second”. After that, I knew I had to go back into care.


I have been at The Beeches since October 2015. I started as a Lead Carer and have now worked my way up as a Dementia Care Manager. I love it here and really feel like I make a difference to our residents.
