Such a lovely home lovely vibe. Good staff kind and caring. Mum was reluctant to go initially but after a week she settled well. Lovely room, nice clean home, lots to do. Happy to complete this.

My mum is a new resident at Ryeview Manor Care Home and it was a hard decision for me to have to make. From my first meeting with a member of staff through to mums assessment I felt reassured that she would be looked after in the best way possible.

My mum has been living at Ryeview for nearly two years and it is a home from home. The staff are fabulous, very caring and nothing is too much trouble. My mum has high needs and her care has been exceptional. Her room is always clean and tidy and always smells lovely. The meals are fantastic! The chefs
are creative but also there are many home cooked favourites that the residents love.
I love Ryeview and am so happy that my mum lives there. The manager and her team deserve a medal!

Good, caring staff. Mum treated with dignity and respect. Management keen to ensure any "niggles" are taken care of quickly. Conscious of improving quality and standards and maintaining the level of care at all times. I am happy my mum is being taken care of for her "however long" years.

This is a delightful place to visit. Everyone is so friendly. It is the best care home I have visited. There seems to be so much to do after listening to different people.

I have visited a friend who is happily settled in there. A delightful care home with excellent facilities and care. Very spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating access.

The care my mother has received over the last 10 months has been excellent. The food remains an issue as she cannot chew food easily and, although it can be cut up for her, it is still difficult. Roast potatoes become 'leathery' and she only eats the middle. Sometimes no vegetables are served and she
'does not like to ask for them'. But, the staff always try to help her with her routine ie. tea in her won room because she wants to watch TV.
It is her own fault that she does not join in events but she could be persuaded but she needs to be taken along and time is a difficult commodity to manage for you.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.670)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.670) out of 10 for Ryeview Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.444 for Ryeview Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (69 Excellents x 5) + (28 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.444

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.226 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ryeview Manor Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 94 registered maximum number of service users is 18.8. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.8 = 0.426

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I started my career as a beautician, but 15 years on, I felt something was missing. I enjoyed delivering a highly-personalised service, but wanted to change my focus – and the care sector was the right pathway. With this in mind, I applied for a Care Assistant opportunity at Ryeview Manor in 2015 which opened my doors to both education and progression within B&M Care. Since starting, I have completed such qualifications as an NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care, as well as the company’s Management Development Pathway – an invaluable experience that contributed to my most recent promotion to Home Manager.
