Mum has been a resident in Milngavie Manor for 18 months and was one of the first residents.
The staff are great with my mother and now know all her needs.
It will be her 95th birthday in July and will organise something for her at Milngavie Manor.
The only negative is the closure of the coffee shop
as we used to take her there for coffee and cake. Any change this could function again.

My very independent mother was admitted to Abbotsford House (Milngavie Manor) in Oct 18, following us struggling at home for 18 months. I am amazed and delighted she has settled so well. As a retired nursing sister with over 40 years experience, I would recommend this home for anyone in the same position.
The staff give an exceptionally high standard of care at the same time keeping a homely atmosphere.

My late Mother was one of the first ever residents to enter Abbotsford Luxury Suites back in December 2017. My mother (82) suffered from dementia which Abbotsford Luxury Suites specialises in, plus the beautiful setting and stunning facilities made the families decision to choose Abbotsford Luxury Suites
a very easy one.


I'm often away on business so it was important to know that my Mum was well looked after in a homely environment. There's also a hairdresser and Latte Da Cafe which added another amazing benefit. My Mum's friends could visit her and treat her to her favourite coffee and a homemade scone.


I cant praise the staff and level of care enough. My Mum took poorly over Christmas and was released from hospital in January back to Abbotsford Luxury Suites for palliative care. I can't thank all of the team for the unbelievable care and compassion that was shown in my Mum's final days. So if you're considering Abbotsford Luxury Suites for your loved ones then take a visit and you won't be disappointed.

Our Aunt lived at the home for a year, she suffered from Demetria, hearing loss and limited vision. She sadly passed away recently whilst a resident in Abbotsford she was 98 years old. I cannot speak highly enough of the care given to our Aunt, the attention to detail and her needs was excellent. The
handling of her passing was what you would have wished for, with support for our Aunt and my husband. The staff were always conscious of what was best for her in a given situation. You could not ask for more.

My mother-in-law became resident in this facility in December 2017 following a fall which resulted in a broken hip and wrist. She has dementia, was completely immobile, reliant on hoist lifts to get her in and out of bed/ onto a chair etc. She is now mobile, with the use of a walking aid, and is thriving,
due to the excellent care she is receiving. Staff are caring and devoted to the wellbeing of all residents. As a family, we are extended a warm welcome each time one of us visits. I have previous experience of dealing with elderly relatives in residential care and wish this facility had been available at the time.

Excellently designed residence/care facility, very homely atmosphere and welcoming staff. From management to all sectors of staff, I encountered experienced highly professional, motivated and dedicated individuals. They all demonstrated skills, knowledge and professionalism as well as being extremely
courteous and respectful to myself and my family member who was experiencing respite care.


I have viewed numerous nursing homes and consider this to be of exceptional quality delivering as they promise. The food and cleanliness were observed as excellent and the lovely quality touches of cloth table covers and napkins very inviting. Staff were very attentive to individuals with special care needs pertaining to tasks like feeding and moving and handling.


I would be more than happy to recommend this facility and place my relative there long-term should the need arise.

This home failed to deliver the care it advertised for dementia sufferers, by doing so it caused suffering to both the patient and family. What was meant to be her forever home was taken away in a very uncaring manner. Whilst the fixtures and fittings are good the care and compassion provided were non-existent
and in no way would I recommend this home to anyone.

My mother was in this care facility from March - June 2018 The manager did not go to the dementia unit she was in to assess her prior to admission. She was assessed apparently during a short visit with us prior to admission. No proper assessment took place that day.
The care my mother received was
average. They were often understaffed. The staff struggled with mum's behaviour. She has Alzheimer's, and until her meds were changed she was very agitated. She put herself onto the floor. Slowly Mum began to improve though. We were shocked when we were told that the directors wanted Mum to leave. We were told by the manager that they could not provide the care my mother required. This, despite the fact they advised, and still advise that they take residents who have dementia. They told us residents' relatives had complained about my mum and one woman was afraid to come out of her room. We were humiliated at 2 meetings attended by a social worker. This home looks lovely, but be very wary.

I believe the admissions policy for this Care Home to be deeply flawed because my mother was evicted after two months. I recommend that you do not send your elderly relatives here because when their dementia progresses, they may be evicted. In my opinion, this care home did not provide the service that
they were paid for.

I needed respite care after whooping cough (age 83!!) and a stay in hospital as I normally live alone. Friends and family found this group and booked me in. I spent 24 days there. Initially apprehensive, I really felt benefit from the care and attention that I received and am now happily back at
home. I was in better mental health than most of the residents and so could interact more with the wonderful staff and could observe their care and professionalism dispassionately and also discuss with residents' relatives their opinions of their relatives' treatment. It is never easy to see people brought down by dementia and other consequences of advancing years ("there but for the grace of God go I") so I really appreciated the amazing patience and kindness that the staff showed to everyone. The building is new, the ambience superb and the food excellent. If I ever need Abbotsford's services again I would be content to use them. The activities provided were appropriate and valuable.

Having joined the team at Milngavie Manor in Spring 2024, Thomas brings a wealth of knowledge in care and customer experience to his role. He grew up close to Glasgow and recently returned after 20 years of living and working in the South East of England. As your first port of call, you can rely on Thomas for support and logistical help as you embark on the journey of finding the right care. Providing support and an exceptional level of service is high on Thomas’ list of priorities, along with making time to get to know new residents and their loved ones. Outside of work, Thomas enjoys dog walks in the countryside and spending time with his family and friends, though the majority of his spare time is spent looking after his three horses, who have also relocated to Scotland with him.
