Living in California and having to move my dad into a nursing home was extremely difficult for me. The Customer Relations Manager at Badminton Place was amazing. He helped me through every step of the way. My dad has been there for over a month now and I feel so relieved that I found a place that cares
for all his needs the way they do. All the staff I have had contact with are outstanding and friendly and really seem to love the residents.

Fantastic care is given to my nan. Wonderful and friendly staff. Their care goes above and beyond and my nan always looks comfortable and settled. I am very grateful for all the loving care and attention that you all give to her.

I visited Badminton Place for a visit to one of your residents. Found the place very lovely and welcoming, the decor was very tastefully done. All the staff we encountered were pleasant, very professional and seemed to know the job and all had good customer service.
I have been to other care homes
but would recommend this one and give it 10/10 for customer service.
My friend says they love the gym and all-inclusive dining room, and I thought their room is like that of a 5* hotel, "where do I register for a place" I say each time I visit. I also loved the meal we had, it was superb.
Well done Badminton Place, you have got just the right place here.

We were very anxious about moving my father-in-law into a nursing home. The staff at Badminton Place made the whole process a very positive experience. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff they have all been very helpful with and kept a very upbeat atmosphere. The administration lead is awesome,
he kept us very well informed throughout the process, helped with some of the initial video calls and went out of his way to order some special treats and personal items for my father-in-law. We could not be happier with Badminton Place and would definitely recommend it to others.

I can't recommend Badminton Place and staff highly enough.
The care and attention she received were excellent.
My mother went to Badminton Place after being in hospital with a broken foot, she has dementia so at first, she was a little confused, however, the staff looked after her so well her wellbeing
and physical health improved so much.
The nursing staff were always happy to talk to me with any concerns that I may of had nothing was too much trouble.
The care staff are very friendly and respectful of their residents.
A huge thank you to all at Badminton Place.

My Mum is a relatively new resident at Badminton Place. From the moment she arrived there I felt very involved in her care, the contact I have with all the staff has been very reassuring. Quite early on in her stay at Badminton Place, she celebrated her 100th birthday. The day exceeded all our expectations.
Her room was beautifully decorated with bunting and balloons. The loveliest birthday cake was brought into her room with the staff singing to her. It is a day we will always remember and would not have been possible without the help of everyone at Badminton Place. My Mum has complex needs which can be challenging at times but all the staff respond positively with understanding. I am contacted weekly with an update on her care. I feel a great sense of gratitude and relief that Mum is living at Badminton Place.

My mother was in the care of the staff at Badminton Place for several months. During this time I got to know several members of staff well. I know that my mum was treated with dignity and respect but also with genuine affection and compassion. Staff got to know my mum and all her quirks on a human level,
she was not treated as just a patient or resident but as a whole person. This was a great comfort to me as, due to Covid restrictions, I was unable to be with my mum as often as I would have liked. I did manage to visit her in the lovely lodge outside. She looked well cared for and was alert and happy. The surroundings are absolutely stunning and feel more like a five-star hotel than a care home. The events team provide a varied and interesting rota of activities. They are professional artists and value the therapeutic role that entertainment has in peoples lives and well-being. I feel extremely fortunate that my mum spent her last days in the care of such fantastic people.

The care team are absolutely excellent and they go above and beyond my expectations.
Food at Badminton Place is excellent, the atmosphere in the home is warm and welcoming.

I cannot thank Badminton Place and more importantly the staff for making my life and my mum’s bearable again. We have had excellent visit times in the purpose-built COVID safe environment almost on a daily basis and those days we cannot meet we can have a good chat by video link which is very clear
and easy to use. I am happier that we can help keep each other happy. It’s working very well.

Angela Madden

Angela Madden serves as the General Manager at Badminton Place, bringing nearly 40 years of extensive experience in health and social care. Her career encompasses managing nursing homes, residential homes, hospices, the learning disability sector, and charity care providers. Angela’s expertise is backed by her registrations with CIW and CQC in Wales and England, reflecting her deep commitment to high standards of care.


Angela was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Social Care Workers Code of Practice and the Standards Framework with the Welsh Assembly Government. This pivotal role underscores her dedication to advancing care practices and enhancing the quality of service.


Living in South Wales, Angela enjoys breathtaking views and the company of her pets: Tilly (Jack Russell), Henry (an elderly Maine Coon cat), and two ragdoll kittens, Thelma and Louise. She is also a proud mother and grandmother, with a growing family that includes a granddaughter, and a grandson expected soon.


Angela’s leadership philosophy is centred around leading by example, being visibly supportive within the home, and championing the quality and standards of elder care. Her passion drives her to ensure residents maintain their independence and make informed decisions, while she works collaboratively with all stakeholders.

Coleen Oflaherty

Coleen, originally from Ireland and residing in Wales for the past 29 years, is a dedicated nursing professional with over 26 years of experience. Since qualifying as a nurse in 1998, she has built a diverse and extensive career across various fields, including Acquired Brain Injury, Mental Health, Dementia, Forensics, Rehabilitation, and General Nursing. Her work has taken her through a range of care environments, including nursing homes, hospitals, and agency roles, in both Wales and England.


Coleen's passion for nursing is evident in her hands-on leadership style. She works closely with her team, offering support and guidance regardless of their roles. Her drive is fuelled by a commitment to evidence-based practice and a relentless pursuit of improved care standards. For Coleen, nursing is more than just a profession; it is a deep-seated vocation.


Her approach is grounded in empathy and transparency, with a steadfast focus on putting residents' needs first. Coleen’s enthusiasm for her work is matched by her sense of humour and optimism, always believing there’s a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow—a sentiment she proudly attributes to her Irish heritage.


Monika

Monika Szwolko

Job Title: Head Housekeeper

Joined: 2023

Monika moved from Poland to the UK 18 years ago and has been working as Head Housekeeper within the local area for over 9 years before joining Badminton Place in 2023.


She is Head of a small team at Badminton Place including Laundry, and runs a tight ship ensuring that high standards are met at all times.


Monika is married, has two children and has a passion for music, and cars and loves to go on holiday at any opportunity.

Will Corley

Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Joined: 2020

I have a passion for working in the care industry and joined Badminton Place House in 2023, having been an Estates Manager at a Mental Health Hospital in the past. I have strong knowledge and understanding of building and services compliance, Health and safety and experience in construction. I lead a dedicated Maintenance Team in carrying out daily and weekly compliance checks, ensuring our home has a robust safety record whilst making sure the home’s aesthetic and comfort levels remain first class.


In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cycling and walking our dog, Shylo.
