My brother is happy and settled at Boston house. The staff know and care for him very well, caring for him with dignity and understanding his needs. The staff are friendly and keep the family updated.

The staff go above and beyond, they work as a great team. I can't recommend them enough, Boston House is clean, friendly and much more. They treat the residents with dignity and above all, are very caring. My brother is a resident and he's the happiest I've ever seen him, thank you to all the staff.

My partner arrived as a resident in February 2024. I am so overwhelmed with the support and care we have received, not just for my partner but for me also. He has received total respect and dignity and finally is so settled for the days I go to work. The staff at Boston House are absolutely amazing,
it is like a home from home. I have been through such a very difficult time, and now our lives have changed, I have so much support from the staff, it has enabled my partner to start to gain his own independence again, the staff take him out every day, and nothing is too much trouble, he is so content. Thank you Boston House for your care, support, kindness, respect, and everything else you have contributed to both my partner and me.

My daughter arrived here as a resident in February 2020, walking only with assistance and barely continent day or night. In an en-suite room with severe cognitive impairment. Can now walk around her studio flat unaided or uses a trolley to transport drinks etc. Continent almost all of the time, day
and night. In charge of her own medication and is now a subject of safeguarding as she is an extremely vulnerable adult following a psych evaluation. Most of this has happened since the latest manager joined the team, improving communication, onsite physio and psychology services, also the recognition of my daughter's individual needs to improve and safeguard her outcomes. The biggest obstacles to my daughter's diet is physical and cognitive impairment.

Very clean and spacious building. The staff are genuinely very caring and will go out of their way to help and ensure our son is dressed nice, clean and shaved and feels safe. They are very attentive to my son's needs and spend time talking to him and entertaining him. Nothing is too much trouble for
them
The rooms are furnished well and we were encouraged to make it more personal for our son with whatever he liked. My son chooses when he gets up and when he goes to bed and the staff offer a good range of activities to get involved with
I have seen a big improvement in the rehab side of this home over the last several months which is down to the new manager and although there is still some way to go, it's getting there.
Overall it's a very good home with dedicated and caring staff. I would recommend this home to anyone.

The service and staff team are lovely!
They are achieving amazing things with my family member! I would recommend this service all day!
They have a great gym for physiotherapy to be given, this has been a great asset for my family member and I think it has been really important for their recovery
since their stroke.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.484)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.484) out of 10 for Boston House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.884 for Boston House is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 69 Ratings = 4.884

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Boston House is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 17 registered maximum number of service users is 3.4, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
