Anchor’s Buckingham Lodge is a purpose-built modern care home. It provides friendly care within a comfortable and relaxing environment. The home is finished to the highest standard and benefits from impressive facilities for customers to enjoy, such as cosy quiet lounges, well-maintained secure gardens and a café. Each bedroom has an en suite wet room and underfloor heating as standard.

The team are pleased to be continuing to welcome permanent residents and those who wish to join Buckingham Lodge for respite care.

The home provides residential care, which is personally tailored to meet the individual needs of customers and enhance their quality of life. Anchor works with customers and their loved ones to create detailed care plans. This ensures each individual’s health and care needs are continually met. Anchor prides itself in dementia care and provides on-going training to care staff to ensure their approach always reflects best practice. Buckingham Lodge is also a pet-friendly home.

When my mother-in-law moved in, the staff were amazing. We were allowed to personalise her room so she had familiar things around her and they settled her in so well. The home is modern, clean and the staff are always smiling, warm and friendly. My mother-in-law always says how much she likes it there
and if there are any issues with her health, the staff are straight on it and deal with all concerns with compassion and efficiency. Would highly recommend Buckingham Lodge to anyone whose loved ones need dementia care.

My mother has now lived in Buckingham Lodge for three and a half years. We live 100 miles away and visit on average once a month. Every time we visit we are impressed with the quality of care and accommodation. My mother is happy at Buckingham Lodge and feels secure. We are very happy that she has found

Mum has only been at Buckingham Lodge since November 2019.
As a family, we have found the staff to be very friendly and the standard of care to be first class. We are happy that she is treated with care and empathy and is safe and being well looked after which is always paramount to any family.
The
food is very good and Mum has put on weight since she has been there.
We refer to Buckingham Lodge as an elderly persons' first-class hotel!

My mum has been a resident since March 2019 after making the heartbreaking decision to place her in care. She has settled amazingly and enjoys her new "hotel". All members of staff are extremely friendly and always around to listen and actions are put into place straight away.

Making the decision regarding our mother's future was possibly the most difficult decision my sister and I had to make. Upon meeting the Manager this was made a whole lot easier. His understanding and attention to detail reassured us that all Mum's needs would be met. We honestly couldn't wish for a
better place. The staff are all so welcoming and friendly. Visiting Mum is a real pleasure and it is lovely to see her so settled and happy. Thank you.

We were welcomed at the reception in a very friendly fashion and all the carers we met were very kind and patient. My aunt complained about one of the carers who was a bit bossy but was otherwise happy with the way she was looked after and the entertainment on offer. She complained a bit about the boring
food which she found a bit monotonous.

We found Buckingham Lodge after looking at a couple of care homes in Aylesbury.
My mother moved in in June 2019 and has been there ever since.
We were initially looking for a care home with other residents in mind but really it’s the staff who make it special for Mum.
As a family, we feel so happy
with the care my mum has received from all staff who go above and beyond the normal care for her. If my mum is at all worried about anything, the staff are so approachable. She feels safe, secure and very cared for.

We were welcomed as we arrived and shown how to sign in. We were shown to the lift after we were told where my sister was staying.
Staff were extremely pleasant to us and amazingly friendly to my sister.
She was able to joke with them and they responded in a jovial way.

The home is clean and well presented. Staff are approachable and have time for you. However, I find that there is a high turnover of staff which affects the overall standard of care. This is mainly seen with residents often showing an element of distress out of confusion or unfamiliarity of new faces.

The best care home in Aylesbury Vale to look after our 92-year-old relative suffering from Alzheimer's dementia. Two weeks of respite care. It is friendly, clean, relaxed, non-regimental. Lovely staff who genuinely care for all residents. Highly recommended for respite care or permanent care.

The transition between independent living at home and moving into full-time care is never going to be easy. My elderly mother has just made the momentous decision to move into Buckingham Lodge. She has been very well supported during this transition by the whole team. She tells me she is warm and comfortable
and very well cared for. She has often praised the staff for their kindness and care. We have noticed the new manager is working very had to address and problems, like the use of agency staff.

During my grandmother's stay on respite, I was highly satisfied with the care she was given. All the carers were amazing and the accommodation was light, airy and clean. Every part of the home was welcoming. I would like to have seen more activities offered to the residents as advertised on the website.

When I visit my great grandmother, the facilities are clean and tidy, everyone seems happy and cheerful. Nan is always saying how wonderful all the staff are and how lovely the food is.

Simon Meredith

Job Title: Home Manager

Hello!


My name is Simon, and I am the Home Manager at Buckingham Lodge.


I am originally from Lancashire but moved to Buckinghamshire at the age of 18 years. I have spent all of my career working in adult social care, mainly in the charitable and not-for-profit sectors.


I’ve worked across all of the different care sectors, and I believe I have gained a good understanding of the issues that people in our care experience, as well as an appreciation of how daunting it must be to move from the family home into residential care. The thought that I am in the privileged position of being able to influence and have a positive impact on people’s lives is very motivating and rewarding for me.


I am also passionate about supporting our staff to develop and achieve to the best of their ability. If we have a happy and engaged staff team, we should have happy, well-cared-for residents and a happy home – everyone matters!


If we can put each individual at the centre of all that we do, we can ensure that our residents are fully involved in all of our decision-making processes, enabling us to deliver care and support that is as individual as they are.


Away from work, I am married with two children and a dog. If I am not at Buckingham Lodge or at home (or out walking the dog), I can be found following the mighty Preston North End around the country.
